The First Summoning

Ciara suggested Lucille to sit this one out. Lucille nodded and obediently took seat on the most nearby chair in the chamber as she saw the others head out.

Botis saw as Rico got fake cursed by his mistress and followed her outside, retaining his normal demonic form. Botis dragged the two other little demons along with him. When they headed outside Botis looked to the two demons.

"Cherry, Sugar, you two better keep quiet during this time. We're going to stay on the background this time. And once the battle commences I want you two to keep Ciara save, I'll try to get myself... defeated... by Alruby."

"Hey! Our names are Cherub and Sugat! Pay some respect!" Surgat said.

"And it's not like you're that strong, right Botis? Losing to a witch hunter isn't such a disgrace." Cherub added.

"Just do what you are told twerps."

The five headed outside and their presence was quickly noticed by Alruby. He saw a gang of several humans approaching led by a single man who he saw was Alruby himself. He was curious to see how the man would react to what has been done to his son and what the result of it would be. Would he immediately launch an attack, or stat negotiating? He readied an attack behind his back to prepare for what to come.

The First Summoning

"That sounds like a dangerous plan." he sighed "But I shall do my best to protect you no matter what. You should direct us to another place when the time comes to escape." Botis motioned her to tell the plan to Rico and Lucille. As they explained the two closely listened and took it all in.

"That sounds like a good plan to me." Rico said "That way no one gets hurt and all this may settle down again."

"But what should I do? Do they know I'm involved? Should I be on Rico's side or should I go along with you guys?" there was a tone of worry in her voice, but Botis didn't really trust her.

"I think it is best if you stay behind here, as fleeing with five people is quite a drag." Botis answered. One should remember that Cherub and Surgat were still with them, but since they are very loyal they would do whatever they were requested to and thus would also follow her wherever she went. However Cherub was the only one who could fly thus had to carry Surgat.

But in the end Ciara should decide what Lucille should do, it was her plan after all.

The First Summoning

Botis ignored his mistress first attempt to get his attention by laying her shoulder on his. She continued by softly squeezing his cheeks, rotating his head forwards so it would face hers. She asked him if he was angry at her. Of course he wasn't, he could never be mad at his mistress. Why would he in this situation. Secrets are to be kept to oneself, Botis knew that. He sighed in his own mind followed by a real one.

"No mistress, I could never be mad at you. I will oblige and keep my temper in tone. I won't head out on my own unless you grant me permission to do so. I am a demon in your contract and I should behave like this." he said as if he was reading a rule that a parent had written for their child.

His eyes became more spicy again. "So if that was Alruby's magic, how are we going to counter him. He will find us out sooner or later. We must think of a plan."

The First Summoning

Although Botis was trying to hide his anger, his mistress quickly figured him out. He turned his head not to face her creating an awkward silence. He wanted to tell her that he liked to just kill both Rico and Lucille right here, right now and then go after the others. But Ciara didn't have enough magic to sustain that. Otherwise Botis would simply say Rico's father is the main antagonist here, and when he would encounter him he would shred him to pieces.

After Rico broke the silence by suggesting to to brainstorm about how to stop his father, Ciara nodded, as well as Botis himself. Ciara laid his hand on his shoulder, it was a nice warm touch. "I guess we can talk later if you want." he replied to her suggestion. She continued to perform some kind of spell and grabbed her head while doing so. The others probably didn't notice but he knew his mistress was doing a spell, probably one to hear the enemy. She lied that it was a headache, of course Botis knew the truth.

"Mistress, can we have that talk now? Concerning the story you just told?" he asked, he looked at Lucille next "Where can we talk in private?" Lucille pointed to the room down the hallway. Botis grabbed his mistress arm and dragged her there with or without her consent. He made sure the others couldn't hear them and spoke his thoughts.

"Okay, I didn't want to talk about your past right now, we can resolve that later. What was the spell you just performed? Is Rico's dad near? You know I just could shred him to pieces, right?"

As Botis listened he kept a close eye on Lucille, something still seemed very strange about her and he noticed that Ciara shared these thoughts. He decided to begin a conversation with her.

"So Lucille, where are you from? You said you moved to this village not too long ago, thus I wonder." he said, trying not to sound suspicious of her.

"Oh dear, I've been to lots of places. I'm a traveler, having also been to bigger kingdoms nearby. But I grew up in a small village and this one reminded me of it. And something... made me stay here." she said adding a kind smile afterwards. "But you are Count Botis, are you not? A demon? Does that mean you're from the Underworld?"

"Uhm... yes indeed I am." Botis answered slightly confused. Lucille asked the questions as if she had zero knowledge of demons and the Underworld despite having heightened senses. he felt like she was hiding more than she wanted to reveal. "It is quite a lovely place if I say so, a lot more dead than here." he continued acting casual.

There was a pause before Lucille continued. "You like this girl being your mistress? From what I hear she lacks in magic, I can't do magic, but perhaps I can be a better mistress for you then her."

Botis looked annoyed. "I don't know where this is coming from, but you better shut the fuck up. I know you're hiding something, I'll find out sooner or later." at that moment Rico stepped in front of Lucille quickly followed by Ciara stepping in front of Botis. Now Botis got a full confirmation from his mistress that she also knew something strange was going on with this supposed human, Lucille.

As the plan of attack began the topic quickly derailed. Soon Botis and Lucille found themselves in a confession or rather secret between Rico and Ciara. Although they didn't explicitly said it Botis drew the conclusion that Rico's father was the one who killed Ciara. He wondered what became of her after that, has she been living alone at such a young age? Or was there a third party he did not yet know about? One thing was clear is that his hate for Rico's father only grew. His mistress approached him and he tried to hide his anger.

"Yes my mistress?"

The tall crimson-haired woman turned around and was surprised to see the five barging in without a notice. Her eyes were quickly directed towards Botis seeing another face of recognition. She then looked at Ciara, and the two smaller demons standing beside her. She acknowledged that Ciara was the owner of all three demons, a firm confirmation of the conclusions she drew from the spar the other day between Botis and Ciara, not that she knew their names.

"Ow Rico, I didn't know you'd bring guest. I didn't clean up the place." she spoke.

Tears of sweat were running down the forehead of Rico, he let out a huge sigh. "Sorry babe, but we have a situation here. Can they take shelter here?" he asked.

"Of course they can, if they are friends of yours... then they also are friends of mine." she said, the latter part of the sentence sounding rather sinister.

"Thanks babe." he turned around to face the others. "Welcome. This is Lucille, she is my girlfriend for a wonderful 2 months already." he looked up at his girlfriend with a big grin on his face.

"Yes indeed. Shortly after I moved to the outskirts of this village I met Rico, one could say it was love on first sight. He already told me about his profession as 'witch-hunter'." she chuckled. "Now what really makes me curious is why he would be such good friends with a witch." she said as she towered over Ciara who just changed to a more casual appearance instead of her nightgown. Lucille then turned her head slightly at Botis.

"And I assume that you are one of her demons? You looked a lot different when I encountered you yesterday at the manor, then again, you were under a glamour spell then, or make-up really does wonders."

"How dare you speak in such manner to me, Count Botis of the Underworld and Lord of Venom?!" he rolled his eyes. "I noticed that you were not a regular back at the manor, what are you hiding?" he pressured her.

Rico stepped in, with a face of annoyance towards the count. "She is a regular human, just like me. And just like me she has heightened senses and can tell demons and witches apart from the normies. Probably the reason why we fit so well together." he said, getting a little cheesy at the end of his sentence.
