@Kitty your gal in a loveless marriage, my gal is married to her job. Who needs romantic love anyways?!

Roxy needed love </3

Roxy had love, with a complete dick who now has her child....
Thinking of joining is there still space? I was thinking of being the local police sheriff.

More the merrier
@BrutalBx Is there room for another girl character?

Of course!

I'm also interested in making a female char, will post her sometime today .

Sounds good.

Just a note for everyone; Make sure if you are considering taking on two characters that you can handle it. This rp is all about quality over quantity and I want every character to be on equal footing as far as development and we always run the risk of neglecting one for the sake of the other. Two characters is a commitment.
Question @BrutalBx when finding a fc are we looking for a younger and an older version?

Completely up to you. If you can find a young and older fc that you like then go for it. If you just want to use an older fc, we can use our imaginations.

@SamaraJayne96Twins is good. Whatever you want and feel comfortable with.

Gatling,Texas. 2009.

They sat in their little slice of heaven behind the utility room on the south end of the Gatling Garrison football field. The preceding four years had been ones fraught with ups, downs and everything in between. There had been love, laughter, pain and even death yet it had brought them all closer together. They had not been the stereotypical group of friends from an outsider's perspective. If it were anywhere else, they would all most likely belong to a different social clique but fast times at Gatling West High School had bound them together forever.

Tradition was a huge thing in this small rural town and this particular group were about to partake in one relatively new tradition, a signature to become a memory. As they signed their names on the old off white wall with a stolen marker from Mrs Rome’s class, a cloud of true sadness hung high above them, hidden by the orange burst of a Texas sunset. They had all just graduated and before the after party, they wanted to share a quiet and potentially final moment together.

“This isn’t the end right?” Roxanne held back her tears as she clutched onto her weathered notebook. Everything that she was, everything she had been through and everything she wanted from the future was etched in those pages. “We’re not gonna get sad or depressed. Nothing is going to change now” She wasn’t sure how much of a lie she was telling herself but she liked to believe that just this once it would be the truth. “We’ll meet back here, every year. Wind, rain or shine, This is our home. Promise me guys”

It was a promise that didn’t even last a year.

Ten years on and Roxanne Williams was making waves as a writer for television. She had her dream job and a daughter she loved dearly. Life seemed good. Unfortunately, life had other plans. A popular resident, her death sent shockwaves across the town, a resonance of sorrow fell across the people of Gatling like a spring rain shower. Roxanne’s death finally forced her old friends to fulfil their promise and return to their hometown from wherever in the world they were to mourn her passing. The circumstances of her death while surprising was no mystery. She was sick, very sick and nobody knew about it or least nobody cared to.

At long last home, Roxanne’s friends must learn to accept the fact that their friend is gone. They must face the facts that maybe there was more they could have done. Some of them escaped the confinement of Gatling, others did not. Life has changed since high school in so many ways yet with Roxy gone and the gang back together again, many things also felt the same.

Through a series of messages the departed has left behind, the gang are awashed with memory and emotion as old loves, old rivals and everything in between comes rushing back.

Is Roxanne getting her revenge from beyond the grave? Or is she just helping her friends out one last time..?.

Genre: Slice of Life

Welcome to the town of Gatling, folks! A small town deep in America’s Heartland. Gatling is a rural Texas town a few miles outside of Austin. The town itself is comprised mostly of family owned businesses and farms. It is a simple way of life that the townsfolk lead, one that values hard work and tradition above all. It also deeply values it’s high football team, the Gatling Garrison and treats both its current and former players like heroes or villains depending on the outcome of Friday nights game. A close knit community by the very definition, Gatling takes care of its own and doesn’t take kindly to those who want to mess with the established order.

Our story takes place in the modern day as well as the past and will be centered around the day to day lives of the residents of Gatling,Texas; specifically the lives of the graduate class of 2009. We will explore their secrets, their lies and their lives as they come to terms with the passing of a friend and the sad details that surrounds it. We will jump between their time in high school and their current situations as they band together to uncover the truth about Roxanne's death and some hard truths about themselves..

This is a mature rp; the intention being a real honest look at life in a small town on the last vestiges of the American Frontier. We hope to explore many real life problems ranging from drugs, violence, abuse, financial crisis etc and shine a light on day to day life in the heartlands. The most compelling stories are those that are true to life and real and that is our goal in this role play, to create a compelling world made up of amazing people.

As this lovely slice of life is happening, our characters will follow a trail of breadcrumbs left by their deceased friend. Throughout Gatling, Roxanne had left mementos and notes from times gone by which will be our window into the past (aka when found, cut to their high school selves). Why she has left them? That’s the real mystery isn’t it? Roxanne in many ways was the heart and soul of her group of friends, she knew all of their secrets and they knew none of hers. What will they find?

As an added extra, Roxy is a universal character. A phrase here which means she can be played by any writer and her history, family, personality, likes and dislikes will be written as we go along. Which means you, yes you over there will be creating her story as we move forward which in turn will affect how our other characters story moves forward.

<Snipped quote by BrutalBx>

How many characters will it take to get the ball rolling? :)
I could try asking around if you'd like~

Honestly not that many one or two would be be about right I think
@Wistful Dreams@spooner@Dirty Pretty Lies@SamaraJayne96

Thank you for the interest! Hopefully we’ll get a little more if not I’m sure we can make it work as a smaller group

“What’s up marks? It’s your girl, Gwen coming at you live however you listen or watch this thing. Before we get started, a few messages from our sponsors...who am I kidding? Nobody is sponsoring this fucking mess. Though I do have a message from everyone’s favourite hustler; a reminder The Presidents Game starts live on Twitch at Midnight tomorrow, make sure you’re tuned in. Also Dare Night is fast approaching, are you all in yet? I know I am. Now onto the gossip, the summer has already started with a bang for the Misfits, quite literally actually. When last we left our heroes they were travelling deep into the Nevada desert only for a certain Gearhead to run them off the road. Accidentally I’m told but with AJ fucking Tyler you never can tell. Seems our two road crews met on a lonely stretch of highway in the twilight zone and had a few crossed words. All is well now though apparently, a tow truck got them out of there but I’m told the Misfit RV is pretty much toast. How are they gonna get out of this one? If I had a drone, I’d send it to Red Rock to try and find out. Last thing I heard, both of our intrepid traveler groups were at a campground outside of Vegas, breaking bread, eggs and downing tequila body shots, color me jealous. Could this be the start of a supergroup? Beverly Hills answer to the Avengers perhaps? I can’t wait to find out. This next one goes out to my dearest road warriors, you hear me babies? The sun is setting and the world is yours; this is Paint the Silence by South

The last few hours had been long and arduous. A tow truck had arrived and taken the RV to a nearby town and the Misfits albeit reluctantly hitched a ride with the gearheads. Unfortunately the RV was toast and there was no way to fix it. A grand start to their summer adventure, that’s what he was hoping for and in a roundabout way that’s what they got. By chance the GH were also heading to Red Rock Canyon so the Misfits hitches a ride to the campgrounds to weigh out their options. They could go home, well some of them could. Sami didn’t have a home, not anymore. He had no intention of returning to LA after this journey. This was a one way trip for him. He had no idea where he was going to end up he just knew that Santa Monica was not it.

As the others gathered around the fire listening to the velvet tones of the rock n roll queen herself Gwen Morgan, there was a burning sun slowly giving way to moonlight and dark skies above them. Samuel sat on the edge of the world staring out into the Nevada abyss. Beyond the tree line we’re some simple wooden cabins which the group were using for however long they were in Red Rock and a few miles beyond that was Sin City itself Las Vegas. He had planned to surprise everyone with a trip to the strip with some money he had won at McCarthy’s last poker game. He could still do that or he could use the money to find a new set of wheels. He wasn’t sure what his next move would be as his mind was clouded with a thousand other thought clouds.

The meds were doing nothing to stop Sami's Mind from racing or his heart from pulsing. Awashed with a feeling of regret he hung his beaten head in shame. The party was over before it had even started. No. The Misfits weren’t going out like this. Not with a whimper, if they were going out they were going out with bigger bang than an RV engine. What do we say to the God of Death?

Not today.

Emerging from his secluded area with conviction, Sami positioned himself at the centre of the group. ”Dip into your trust funds kids, put on your finest gear and get rid of all of your fear. We’re going to Vegas and we’re going to take the house for all it’s worth”
