Penelope wasn't sure how true to his word he would actually be and still held caution towards the thief. This could have easily been a trick to catch her on guard. It would be a while before she could actually put some trust in him. However, she appeared to be in a better mood than before after their conversation. Though her evident tiredness was still very clear to see on her face.

As they came across the two streams, the knight let out a small groan of annoyance. The last thing she wanted was to end up stranded in the forest. "Er.." she paused trying to distinguish one path from the other but to her,it all looked the same. "Right..." She said with uncertainty.
'What about after?' Penelope gazed at him thoughtfully. If the war was prevented and the staff was taken, then it seemed everyone would get what they wanted. Except for Crow, that is. The knight still held some sympathy for him and as stated before, she had nothing against him. She was a bit reluctant to agree, feeling it was against her own standards to just simply let him go.

"If and when we return with the staff," She began meeting his gaze again, "I'll allow you to get away. I'm sure the king will merely brush off your absence once we return." She agreed to his suggestion. It would be simply enough, at least she figured it would be. Her comrades wouldn't have to know about it either and since she was usually with him, Penelope could provide plenty of opportunities for him to escape.

"However," Penlope began taking a step forward so she was closer to him as she held his gaze. "Should you try to get away before then, the deal is off. Fair enough?" she question as she held out her hand to him.
Penelope's gaze became slightly less hostile as he spoke. She tried to hide any emotion, keeping a neutral expression to the best of abilties. As he finally met her gaze the knight let out a heavy-hearted sigh and looked off to the side. He brought up a topic that she often choose not to dwell on. "I never said I didn't understand..." she muttered quietly. There was a brief hesitation in her words before continuing. "I know all that you have said is true... Why do you think most knights treat you so badly? We try to keep a distinct distance between ourselves and our enemies so we don't gain sympathy... Others are naturally cold and brutal, I will admit that... Either way, it's our job."

"I don't completely hate you. There are much worse crimes than stealing. Though you are quite frustrating at times." She admitted with a small shrug. Penelope looked over at him and crossed her arms. "Plus, I have a bit of personal gain in this mission... You said I was lucky to have a family before and I agree. I also want to keep it that way. If you're able to complete this mission then that means a war can be avoided. If we can avoid that war, then I don't have to worry about loosing the only family I have. Not being with them at the kingdom's border is hard enough." The knight frowned as she recalled her father's quickness to deny her working with them and the lack of communication over their time apart.

"I'm sorry that it comes at the expense of your freedom." She finished with a very serious tone.
The soreness she had as well made her a tad more patient when he took his time getting up. However, she still gave him an annoyed look but was otherwise silent. Penelope let him take the lead as she walked a few paces behind him as they headed up stream. The knight almost felt like running back at the thought of bed and then breakfast.

Normally, she could easily control such urges but it had been a long day and she had very little to eat before. Her stomach quietly rumbled in regret as she thought of the stew she had left behind. How foolish had she been gettng herself into a situation like this! Letting her emotions get the better of her and then allowing a pety thief to nearly escape. During her self ridicule, Penelope was glaring ahead absently as she paid attention to Crow and the direction they were going.

His humming was soon heard and she swayed slightly as she walked. Penelope began to yawn. "Shut up, would you." she snapped, not caring if he was merely enjoying himself or trying to mess with her. In a very bad mood, that was mainly caused by her own tiredness, made Penelope even more irritable and hostile than usual. It was almost like Crow had gotten stuck with William rather than Penelope. The only thing that was lacking was her awareness but that was simply because of her current condition.
"Alright.. I hope bacon and eggs is fine. I don't have much for anything extravagant." Carly said looking over at Eden sheepishly. She clearly stayed close to Eden, seeming a bit nervous with Donovan around. Eden tried to remain both supportive and cheerful for both of their sakes. She smiled at Carly and nodded. "Of course. Thanks for even inviting us in." she said as she headed into the kitchen with Carly.

As they began to cook, the distinct smell of bacon and toast began to fill the air. Eden felt her stomach rumble at the scent, alerting her to her own hunger. She looked longingly at the cooking food. Luckily it wouldn't take very long to complete. "Uh.. soo... Who else have you guys talked to? Who are you seeing next?" Carly began to question, looking slightly more curious now about the situation. Eden couldn't help but feel a sense of relief and happiness as Carly began to show her true colors again as she was interested in the gossip of the situation.
Penelope rolled her eyes, returning a similar look of annoyance with the thief. She didn't respond and instead fixed her gaze elsewhere but always kept him in the corner of her eye. Seeing as he wouldn't be moving anytime soon, she pulled her legs up to her chest and began to look around. Spotting a fallen stick nearby, she picked it up and began to draw in the dirt around her. The activity was merely a way to pastime and keep her from falling asleep for the time being.

Time seemed to tick by slowly. Penelope felt her eyes getting heavier and heavier, threatening to close despite her best efforts. She groaned and slowly forced herself up onto her feet. Her muscles were still sore but the pain had lessen with her time spent relaxing. She walked up to the water's edge and look out over the river. She hoped they hadn't been sent too far down. The sooner they returned, the better after all. The knight rubbed her eyes and let out a small yawn before turning and walking up to Crow.

"Get up. Time to go." She announced. Despite her tired looks that she tried to conceal in vain, the knight sounded rather awake.
Penelope scowled down at the thief as he smiled at her and suggested such a crazy idea. "Like hell I'd let you do that.." she growled furiously. Her hands clenched into fists at her sides looking more than willing to strike. However, the knight let out a breath, cooling her head. She turned and walked away from him as something seemed to catch her eye. Penelope stumbled and grimanced as she walked up to the washed up item on the shore. It was her sword and she felt more than happy to have found it so quickly. Turning back to Crow, she slowly unsheathed it and watched as water poured out then attached it back to her side.

"We're going back, even if I have to drag you there." she stated with cold determination. "But..." she began with reluctance, "we'll stop for a bit though... I doubt either of us can make it very far with out collapsing." Despite seeming to be more mobile than Crow at the moment, Penelope was aching and sore as well. She wanted nothing more than to curl up and sleep but she wouldn't get the opportunity tonight since she would be on constant watch. The knight ringed out the water from her hair but didn't bother to do much with her clothing. She was freeing from the metal that protected her but the fact that Crow could try to get away, possibly using force, made her suffer through it for now.

Penelope staggered over to a nearby tree and lowered herself to the ground grimacing as she did. Propping herself up against the tree, she looked over at Crow. "Rest while you can." she advised.
Penelope muttered something foul under her breath as he took off. She wasted no time in pursuing him. She weaved through the trees surprisingly well and kept up with him for the most part. He should have learned from before that she would be able to keep up with him. There was a dark gleam in her eyes, clearly angered by his actions and feeling foolish since she had nearly fallen for them.

Her pace increased slightly as she pushed herself forward. There was no way she was letting him get away so easily. When she started to gain ground on him, a cocky smirk came over her expression. She noticed him halt ahead but thought little of it and used the chance to catch up to him. However, she was too late when she realized what had made him come such a sudden stop. Penelope tried to stop in time but was unable to as she crashed into Crow and knocked them both into the gushing water.

It was icy cold and she gasped for breath. Her mind became more concerned with trying to get out rather than locate Crow, who had also fallen in. She flailed her limbs in a futile fashion. Her armor was slowly weighing her down bit by bit. Before long she felt her struggles weaken and fell unconcious.

With a sudden jerk, Penelope suddenly sat up and began hacking up the water that she had swallowed. The knight looked much weaker and paler than usual as the breeze that went past made her tremble. Her muscles ached and she found it a struggle to try and stand up. Looking around, she found herself in an unfamiliar area at the water's edge. The foest seemed dense and she had trouble distinguishing her current location. The only thing that helped was the river that had taken her here. A lucky land mark for the way back to the villiage.

As she looked around, she also took notice of another person nearby. Crow. Slowly, she picked herself up and stumbled over to the thief, looking down on him with a glare in her eyes. She nearly felt like giving him a good kick in the side to wake him up but she showed restraint and merely nudged him with her foot. "Still alive?" she said before coughing again. Her voice seemed rather cold and distant like before when their trip had first started. His little stunt had lost whatever trust and friendliness Penelope had held towards him, for now at least.
Penelope gave a small shrug. She looked ahead with a blank expression then glanced back over at him. She could sense that there was something different in his behavior though wasn't quite sure. For now, she remained silent and gave him the benefit of the doubt. There was a slight change in her demeanor as she began to watch him more closely.

When he stepped in front of her, Penelope raised an eyebrow. His challenging look made her narrow her eyes at him. With his words, she quickly became tense with her hand inching towards the handle of her sword. "Don't you dare thief..." she growled, glaring darkly at Crow and even reducing him back to simply thief. She took a step forward towards him and tried to grab him before he ran.
