The abilities aren't permanent. I mean, he can call upon them at any time, but they're taxing and their duration depends on his mental and physical endurance.

Name: Jason Soria
Allias: Chaurus
Gender: Male

Parents: Adriana Soria and Gregory Arkin
Powers and abilities: Jason shares a hive mind with his immediate family, but the strongest connection is that which he shares with his brother, Nathan. Taking after his mother, Jason is able to communicate telepathically with insects, but is unable to take control of them like his brother. From his father, Jason is able to take on the physical characteristics of the insects he has encountered, such as the flight of a dragonfly, proportional strength of a dung beetle, the jumping prowess of a grasshopper, etc., etc. The only limitation to this power is that he must have had physical contact with the insect at some point in his life, and he can only take on the characteristics of one insect at a time.
Personality: Jason discovered his powers very early in life and soon realized that his abilities relied on the interactions he had with insects. Soon, he eschewed social interaction in favor of spending his time increasing his insect collection and, by extension, his power. This caused him to be an outcast with Nathan becoming his only friend. Regardless of his lack of human companions, Jason is perpetually upbeat when in the company of his insects, which he considers equals.
Bio: With a super villain of a mother, a father that is little more than a thrall to the aforementioned mother, and insects comprising the majority of his friends, Jason grew up clueless as to how the real world works. To combat this, his mother sent him to the Academy for the dual purpose of expanding his control of his abilities and also forge the connections he will need to follow in his mother's villainous steps.

Awesome! After you post it, it'll need the okay from at least two of the Co-GMs. As long as the character isn't ridiculously OP, they should accept it pretty quickly.

As Magnus surveys the scene he notices the arrival of someone wearing a black suit, crackling with pink electrical currents. When the stranger didn't immediately start attacking metahumans, Magnus decided they must be a friendly. He stealthily makes his way to him, picking up the sound of orders being barked in German. "That settles it, definitely Hydra." He reaches the suited individual right as they approach a young, blonde girl. "We'll skip the formalities for now. Do either of you have a plan?" he asks, "Because if you don't, I do."
