She continued to push him ignoring his protests. "I understand, you're hurt and your acting like it is nothing. In this cold if wounds are not treated you will end up dying and that will attract predictors that feed on the dead. That in turn means we need to be more vigilant. So I do know what I am doing," she said. So when he finally gave up she stopped pushing him. She was glad because if she had to continue pushing him all the way to the village she would attract a lot more attention then she wanted.
When they crossed the bridge nothing changed, so she had no idea why he was so nervous about it. "Well people here would call it being considerate. You don't let an injured stranger just go someone so they can die. You help them. And your free to go once your wounds are tended to and you have eaten. I can't force you to stay," she said. She would prefer if he stayed until he was all healed up, but there were no inns in her village. Someone would need to offer up a bed and for now this boy was a stranger to everyone. She did not even know what his name was.
As they finally entered the village she noticed the stares of those outside. She ignored them for now, she would have to deal with the gossip once she dealt with the boy. She lead him to her home were both her parents were still in the kitchen. She turned to them and smiled. "Mother. Father. I found this traveler in the woods. He's injured and has no food. Can he stay here for a day. I will get the doctor, but can you make enough food for him to eat." She then turned to him and smiled. "We don't have a lot to offer, but your meal will be served soon. I'm going to get the doctor. You better be here when I get back."
She then rushed out of the house.
