Hey there! Just registered here :D
To shortly introduce myself: I am Camey, 19 year old girl located in The Netherlands (so sorry for my grammar if I mess up past perfect and present and such) who loves writing. I could tell you much more about me, but since this is a role-playing site I will talk about me and role-playing :)
Backstory <insert flashback sound and echo sound effect>
I first started roleplaying about 3 or 4 years ago on a site which also had a forum for role play. At that point in my life time, I didn't know what it was and how it worked. After reading up on it I decided to try it. I always loved writing and as a kid one of my dream jobs was to be a writer. I even remember writing some fanfiction for my friend who loved Star Wars (even though I had never seen it, not even to this day). But I tried. I started off with terrible, terrible posts. Just some one-liners, short sentences with a million spelling and grammatical errors, and terrible characters. Those characters were basically Mary sue's or one-dimensional characters.
Now, how I got here. Lately (past year or so) I had been looking for a forum just like the one that site had. When I finally found one that looked aesthetically pleasing (because I can't stand those basic forum sites where you just get blinded by the excessive amount of white and almost fall asleep looking at it out of boredom), it was already shutting down... Yay... But, when I Googled today looking for a role playing site I found this one! So hi! It looked immediately aesthetically pleasing and within two minutes I registered!
So let's answer some of those questions;
Favorite Genres: Post-apocalyptic, Fantasy, Dystopian, Sci-fi (kinda. Never really done much roleplay's with that genre)
Group RP vs 1 on 1: Group. 1v1 has its charm, but with group roleplays you have so much more possibilities and characters. Also more frequent posts.
Fast-paced or complex: Complex. Fast-paced is fun for in-between, but with complex the story is so much more interesting and rich in lore.
How many characters per roleplay: Depends on the story, but I usually like to incorporate a lot of characters. When you get bored with one, you always have others. And you can create a lot of plots if everyone has a lot of characters.
Favorite post length: 800 words for rp's with detailed plots, 500 for regular in-between roleplays.
So, that's my role-playing life 'in a nutshell' (ended up longer than expected and wanted but I got carried away). Anyways, I'm looking forward to start roleplaying here and meeting lots of writers :)
