The flashy glowing arrow looks at you and welcomes you into the guild. What do you do?
Hello and Welcome! Have fun here!
Howdy! Welcome!
“Maybe it’s a test.” Spoke a woman next to Maddox. She turned and looked at the woman. “Well then we’ll all be dead by then due to dehydration.” Maddox gave the woman a fake smile after her sarcastic comment. Really. Could you stop with the Hogwarts talk please? We’re in the real world, not Narnia or something. She thought. She wanted to say it out loud, but decided it was best not to, remembering the Asian boy who told her to stop ‘an-ta-go-ni-zing’ him, mimicking his pronunciation in her head.

‘Or maybe…?’ The woman said after she grabbed a quarter out of her pocket. ‘Hmm?’ Maddox looked at the quarter curiously, wondering what the woman was going to do with it. When she prayed to the skies after she threw in the coin Maddox couldn’t help but let out a sigh. “And what do the magic wizards in the sky say? Shouldn’t they be in some train station or something?” She mentally kicked herself for using the exact Hogwarts talk she despised, but that was beside the point. Jokes wouldn’t help the situation. All she wanted to do was have a private dorm, lay on her bed, and get some rest. The private dorm situation was sadly never going to happen, but she was owed at least a few hours of rest.

“Where has Mikkish gone to?” She asked the woman when she noticed he just up and left them. “That’s rude…” she mumbeled. She’d to the exact thing many times in conversations, but Mikkish didn’t seem the type. “Oh well.” She said. “I’m gonna check out the rooms.” She briefly stopped after she already started to make her way to the dorms and turned around. “Eh. Tag along if you’d like.”

Once there she really wanted to punch someone. This was even smaller than her apartment. This was a Motel, a crappy one at that. She didn’t expect a room of 10 square meters per person, but this was more the size of a bathroom. “I must admit, I expected more from Maniacles. From a huge mansion one would expect private rooms. Instead they give us a tiny room for four people. FOUR!” To emphasise her point Maddox stood in the middle of the room and stretched out her arms until her fingertips could reach both bunkbeds. This was the size of a damn prison cell!

“By the way, dibs on bottom bunk.” She attended camp enough times to know how quickly you had to say that. If you didn’t, you’d be stuck on the top bunk for the rest of the week. In this case longer than a week. How long did they have to stay here? She took the job willingly, but if the quality of the rooms was any indication for the program, her hopes and expectations might just be way too high.

If you burn bell peppers you can peel of the outer layer and still have delicious food. It's something?

Well, the pests aren't either

Nez hardly ever visited bars. She had no reason to. She couldn’t drink - at least not in what humans would call the real world -, and if she did, she probably would ruin her circuits. Of course, there would be safety precautions, but she wasn’t going to try. Even though she was practically waterproof, one droplet in the wrong place could cause major problems. The only juice she needed was the occasional oil change, but there were mechanic shops for that. Still, she ordered a drink, if only to seem like a normal human and not to get kicked out for holding up a seat.

She sat at the far end of the room in a dimly lit corner booth with all sort of techy stuff littering the table. She knew exactly what each part did and what it was for, but for others it may seem like junk. She fiddled around with some of the parts a little bit and softly cursed when a few sparks erupted from one of them. “Damn!” She knew she didn’t have the right tools with her – those were back at her workplace -, but she didn’t really want to be there right now. It was in one of the more remote parts of the city, a quiet place where no one really came. The bar felt homelier, more alive. The people who came here weren’t the best representatives of the human race, but they were people who talked.

“I need another!” Yelled a man loudly. He seemed drunk, but she couldn’t tell from where she was sitting. Her optic was damaged and her enhanced vision was more like ‘slightly better vision than a human but still crappy as hell’ than anything substantial. She knew she needed to fix it, but she didn’t have the right tools at her disposal, not even in her storage unit. Besides, it was fine. She’d gotten used to it and she rarely needed it. Not seeing everything could even be considered an advantage. Less data to store and keep track of. Nevertheless, she did plan on fixing it one day. Her life-span could be considered infinite – if nothing happened to the servers -, so there was no rush.

Looking back at the man - which was hard given her optic didn’t work properly -, she considered his rudeness. He was clearly drunk, or at least getting there, but his behaviour was not appropriate. At least not to the waitress who treated everyone with the upmost respect, even the jackasses who ‘hit’ on her were treated with respect. Granted, she may have just acted on code instead of actual consciousness and feelings. Nez didn’t know. If it was her being talked down to, she would’ve just kicked them right where it hurts and shouted at them, although she had to admit that it was badass of the waitress to just stand there like a cinder block and not giving it any attention. Again, that could be code, but Nez liked to believe otherwise.

She redirected her attention to the bolts and bits lying on top of the table before her before roughly putting them back in her handbag. She would work on her projects later. Right now, she just wanted to sit in her booth, stirring the beverage she wasn’t going to consume and listening at the chatter around her. Maybe she could even have a conversation with someone. With that thought she made a hand gesture to wave over the android waitress.

Somehow that makes it even better. Bit fucked up though, but better.

And, in theory, you could also heat up food or other things with a laser rifle right? Even burn down trees or something?
That rifle design looks truly badass. I love sciency weapons with clean design and lots of LEDs

This also looks nice;

It's more the whole idea of a subconscious universe that really reminded me of it! It is such an under appreciated idea, by that I mean just something not many people have explored, and it is SO cool. I'm excited to see how it transitions into the story.
Also Black Mirror <3 I haven't seen the new season yet (Netflix uploaded Bob's Burgers and my boyfriend and I have been bingeing that for the past few weeks) but I heard it is great.

Ahh, I understand :) I do love the idea too. Nez isn't really a mind uploaded to the cloud, but more an A.I. which is put into a shell-body (the reverse if you think about it). E.D.G.E.'s plan is to eventually upload minds to the cloud, which does have its ups and down. San Junipero seems like it has a happy ending, but it is bittersweet like most episodes. Keep in mind that time doesn't matter anymore. There is no deadline. Our lives have a deadline, so anything you do matters. In a virtual world where you can live forever nothing really matters. Someone is mad at you? Oh well. You can be mad at them for 20 years without remorse. You have all the time in the world to make it up to them anyways.

And do watch it! I won't spoil anything about it, so just watch it.

Edit:
I hit send and realized I had more to say aha
@Camey@leotamer I really dig the idea of using discord. But I think that it should be an all in or all out idea. Just so people who might feel more uncomfortable online don't feel left out of the conversations. :)

I agree. It wouldn't be fair to those who don't want to join discord for whatever reason. If everyone agrees, then we can use it, otherwise it's best to just stay in OOC :)
