The sign was tilted, but it satisfied me nonetheless. My own helicopter tour company was finally on its feet, a dream of mine since I was just a little kid. I don’t know why but helicopters always caught my attention. The mechanisms, the adrenaline rush, the pure enjoyment factor. Everything was just perfect about them.

Of course it wasn’t easy to get started. It took a big investment from my grandfather, James Brandvold, the multimillionaire genius behind Brandvold Enterprises, to get me the $5.4 million I needed to get the Bell 429, a 7 seven passenger helicopter that could fly as fast as 155 knots. But I told him it was worth it all. I told him that one day I would be as successful as him and build my own company from the ground up. All I needed was the money.

He transferred the money to my bank account later that day, and I found that he had transferred $6 million to my account, $600,000 more than I needed for the helicopter. With it came a note: “For the rest of the company. You can’t get something started with just the helicopter, you know.” Ya, I knew. But I was going to get that money from the bank and pay it off in time. I did want to earn some of the money myself.

So with the cash in my account and another $500,000 from the bank, I climbed in my car and drove off to California, the future site of Brandvold Helicopter Tours: Tours for the Bold. I bought a house/office space for the company in Mariposa County, right next to Yosemite National Park where I would be flying tourists and helicopter fanatics alike.

The goal of it all was simple. Work my way up to one of the largest businesses the world has ever seen. But it all started with this first flight.

Application

Since the Bell 429 can only hold 7 passengers plus one pilot (me), I will only be accepting 7 seven applications! Make yours as great as possible!

Yosemite Summary: (I am requesting that everybody glance/look over all of the Yosemite references located under the reference tab. This will give you a basic understanding of the location at which we crash and the environment. After reading, write a short summary of Yosemite. The longer and more in depth the better. Don't copy from the sources and remember: This step is one of the most important!)
Summary of the Rules: (In one sentence describe the rules (located under the rules tab). This allow me to see that you have read over and understand the rules!

Rules

1. Keep swearing/cursing to a minimum. Only do it when you truly need to.
2. Keep this realistic. Somebody may die in the process and odds are we aren't all going to have a fine and dandy time in Yosemite. You are not Iron Man and you can't sustain major injuries. REMEMBER THIS!
3. Let's try not to have sexual material in this. We are trying to survive, not reproduce enjoyably.
4. Don't make this super easy either. We shouldn't be found in 2 days but it shouldn't take 5 months either. This RP WILL END.

6. Use common sense. I could go on and on with these rules but I shouldn't have to. If you do something I don't think should be done, we will try and settle it in the OOC.
7. Post AT LEAST 2 paragraphs per post and don't double post! Don't post excessively either. This story isn't about you, it is about the group. Maximum of 4 posts a day.
8. This is a casual RP. Write with proper grammar and develop your character!

How We Will Start This Thing

We'll all start at the company/office space. I'll go over safety rules, etc. We will then go up into the air, crash, and go from there. I will handle the crash, as I know how the helicopter will crash. You shouldn't (and better not) make it crash before I do.

Last Thing (VERY IMPORTANT)

As this is a group survival, you shouldn't make huge progress in one post.
Example: One person may say, "I'm going to build a fire." And then proceeds on doing so. This isn't advised, as I can think of many consequences that can come with an under thought fire/shelter/etc.
What To Do: Say, "I think we should build a fire." Then others could pitch in their ideas and feedback and make this a good and safe idea.
So those were really dumbed down examples, but you get the point. Don't do anything stupid and don't advance super far. You shouldn't build a whole shelter or get 10 days of food in just 1 post. It's a bad idea!

Bio: Robert Brandvold was born to Susan and James Brandvold Jr. Both parents died at the age of 21 in a car accident while traveling the country, leaving 2 year old Robert to live with his grandfather, James Brandvold. His grandfather always took good care of him, but when he started Brandvold Enterprises their relationship became more distant. Seldom did Robert and James communicate, leaving Robert to learn right from wrong on his own and to develop himself into a greater person without the aid of a father. On Robert’s 6th birthday, his grandfather, divorced from his wife years earlier, took him to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum where Robert developed a passion for aeronautics. The passion stuck with him for many years, spawning a dream of making a helicopter tour company.
Purpose of Flight: To fly people around, make them happy, and charge them outrageous amounts of money while doing so ;)
Yosemite Summary: Yosemite is a natural beauty comprised of warm days and cold nights. It features large mountains, deep canyons, rivers, and glaciers. 95% of the national park is considered wilderness and is not heavily toured in these areas.
Summary of the Rules: All while using common sense and realism, write fair length posts that don’t contain heavy swearing or sexual content.
