After a sharp pain in his stomach, Spencer said she could take care of herself. Which was true, and Jim thought he was stupid to think of her as a girl that needed protecting. But he cared about her. He wanted to protect her, no matter what. He followed her, not sure what to say.

"Spence, let's talk.." he said.

"I'm sorry. I didn't bring you along because I didn't want to put you in danger." he said. "I'm sorry for leaving you here." he said as he went closer to give Spencer a hug.

Jim secured the ground floor, and then followed the three to their base. When he saw Steph and the others settled, he said, "I'll be with Spencer. You guys best behave. I hear anything I don't like, you fly through the moon door." then left to find Spencer.

He found Spencer in the other room and stood beside her. "Hey, Spence. What's up?"
