John, I think mind control and memory alteration aren't in the same vein. We'll see what Faith says about it later, though.
Hiro, I assumed you'll have time control haha. I think your character is okay, just the phrasing of it. If he alters temperature, he might as well freeze things too, so my advise would be to 'raise temperatures'.
Twins, I think they're good. Same with the other Captain, it's pretty unique.
Don't change your CSes yet, this is just my assessment and Faith will be the one to decide things.

Well, you're definitely on to something. 
I'm not sure what to tell you, not sure how much of it Faith wants to keep secret, but if I'm gonna drop a hint, I would say it's because of what's happening in their world. Most of it, you're gonna have to discover with your characters while inside the asylum and out.
