The plasma fire being returned to him by some sort of human with magical abilities quickly deactivated Reza's shield. Upon realizing a plasma grenade laid at his feet, when Khazo called it out, Reza dropped one of his plasma rifles as he lept up. While doing so, the magical human fired a red laser of some kind at him, hitting him in the side. Reza managed to avoid the blast of the first grenade, the second grenade however, thrown by the second demon, shredded Reza's foot as it barely hung over the breach in the floor. Reza roared in pain as he noticed Khazo run off with a wounded arm. Glancing around, the Major realized the demon's grenade had also killed the minor sangheili as well.
The sangheili grabbed one of his two grenades and tossed it down the hole in an attempt to hinder his attackers. With that done, he painfully got up and leant against the wall with his free hand has he awkwardly hopped along, with his other hand still clutching his plasma rifle as well as holding his wound from the blaster weapon.
When Reza's shield had recharged, a small group of four marines appeared around the corner down the hall behind him and opened fire. The Major simply tried to hobble faster to a nearby intersection, his shield quickly being depleted. When he did manage to make it around the corner, he slumped to the floor, his back against the wall, and started to fire his plasma rifle around the corner at the humans. Reza was realizing he had lost a lot of blood as his aim was horribly off and things were starting to get blurry.

Carl was quick to start directing the fleet when Nara had given him the command of it, he wanted to make sure this event turns out well. With what info the Unfathomable Truth gave them, one bomber squadron attempted to take out the Trinity's weapons and engines with a two other squads harassing her escorts. He also ordered about four squadrons of fighters to harass or destroy hostile forces attacking the Sith boarding craft or bombers. As for the fleet itself, only two frigates were sent to support the Covenant fleet as the rest were being used to fight off the Republic fleet. That and the two frigates were also, indirectly, protecting Nara's vessel to the Covenant's flagship.
Though the General would normally insist on sending an escort of fighters or soldiers with her, such a move would draw unwanted attention to her. With all the chaos going on between the fleets, with the UNSC being in the middle of it all, he knew they would be to occupied with trying to keep off boarders and bombers than target ships traveling between enemy vessels.
While he felt confident about winning against the Republic fleet, Carl wasn't overly sure about these two new forces. He didn't know their weapons or technology, let alone their strengths or weaknesses. As a result, he felt the battle was a bit of a stalemate, with the UNSC and Republic having the upper hand in simply having to fight off against attack while both the Covenant's and his forces had to try to take the stolen items from them. However, he was certain to make the Republic run for their credits at least.
