Having heard something outside her door, Yuki was frozen, her ears jerked in the direction of the door. Then suddenly... A loud slam against the door made her jump! "Eek! she exclaimed as she dived for the cough, hiding on the other end of it. Looking up, she scaredly gazed at the door. Was someone coming for her?! She heard someone groaning outside, and that certainly didn't make things easier, but something in her made her stand up. I have to "man" up! Come on Yuki you can do it! Whoever or whatever it is, you're not afraid of it! she thought as she took careful steps toward the door.
With a swift movement, she unlocked the door and opened the door. If anyone was -leaning- on the door with their hand after having, say, slammed their hip into an end table, the person would probably fall straight inside.
The King's garden was right outside his roal court. From the painted windows, Sylvestra could see everything. She watched as the chef's slave, Uhl, arrived in the room and knelt, no doubt announcing the chef's "divine meals". The only thing larger than the chef's ego was his belly, many servants used to say... Sylvestra felt sorry for the boy... As the tender of gardens, Sylvestra didn't exactly have anyone to answer to but the King himself, which meant there was no abusive superior to come and whip her whenever he wishes, like the chef or the slave traders would to most other elves. In that regard, Sylvestra was lucky. The elf-servants around the castle often came to her for guidance and help. She had become a supportive figure in the castle grounds for the other elves, but Uhl had never come to her before. Perhaps he was too proud? Too angry?

Sighing, Sylvestra ventured down the grounds until she stopped at the servant's entrance, where Uhl would most likely exit once his announcing of the meal was done. She waited for him there. Maybe they would speak...
So many characters! Goodie, waiting for the IC to kick in (:
Including me, or..?
So what disaster did we decide upon?
It is! Was gone yesterday too so I have some reading up to do.
Depends what kind of maps. World-maps I can do, but not too much detail x)
What do you have in mind?
Nice!
No... This was a terrible idea! Terrible! There are so many people in the lounge... I can hear more of them in the room next to it... How do I escape this?! Yuki thought, and wether Thomas gave her an answer or not, she was getting out of there. She hid her face in her high collar of the oversized sweater and raced for the stairs. Not running, mind you, just very fast walking. She knew her supposed apartment was 5B, and should have all the furniture in it already. Tap tap tap tap tap... She disappeared up the stairs, avoiding everyone and everything, before getting to the door. She fumbled up the key, put it in the lock, twist, turn, open, run in, bam... Safe at last!
She slumped against the wall, and sat down on the floor. People scared her. She wasn't usually this shy but from what she had heard, these people were... Well, not exactly human. Sure, she was shy to humans as well but humans she could handle. Attempts of her life and attempts of her kidnap had been thwarted most of her life, but these people... They were probably all crazy strong.

Shuddering, she hid her face in her arms, that were wrapped around her legs as she sat on the floor. She felt the straps of the backpack easing up a bit as it rested on the floor... Her whole life was in that bag. Some clothes, a book, a diary, a photograph, a pen, her wallet... She barely had anything. But that's changed now... Right?
She looked up, and eyed the part of the apartment that she could see from the door. It was... Really nice. Comfortable. She reached up with her hand to turn the lights on, and with the flip of a switch, the whole room lit up. She just gawked at her new apartment. It wasn't big, but it was damn nice anyway!
She stood up and made her way over to the couch, putting her backpack down. Her tail swagged back and forth comfortably as she began unpacking the little things she had.
Yep... That was it. Her entire life could fit onto one half of the couch. She used to have a lot of things back in Hokkaido, but when she left this was all she could bring with her. How ironic.

Her ears perked again... Was someone at the door?
Name: Eyeless Jack
Race: Unknown
Appearance:
Age: Unknown, appears in his 20s.
Gender: Male (persumed)

Bio
Not much is known about "Eyeless Jack", a nickname given to him by the humans who encountered him after the phasing. He wears a mask and what appears to be a simple hoodie with jeans. After the phasing, he was often seen around Edge City, but only in people's shadows. Terrified humans reported it to the authorities, who managed to somehow capture Jack by closing him into a sort of container. Exactly how they managed to capture a being that can move between shadows was a surprise and shock even to the captors.
After capture, he was moved to solitary confinement where he was monitored 24 hours a day to observe his strange "powers". Yet workers quit after seeing him in their nightmares, the eyeless masked face haunting them wherever they went. Some thought the confinement didn't confine him at all, and that he moved between the shadows of the people who monitored him, haunting them on their way home from work or, as stated earlier, in their dreams, yet he always reappeared in his cell. As of yet, he hasn't spoken a single word and instead makes silent, haunting, echoing noises when trying to communicate. In a microphone it comes out as earie static. Neither has he ever been physical or been seen moving at all. He just appears and disappears where he pleases, given the location has a shadow where he can materialize.
Attempts and experiments have been made to remove all shadows in his cell, to see where he goes off to, but he simply vanishes, and reappears again when they turn the shadows back on. His strange abilities are currently being tested, and attempts of communication are being made so that Jack might join this new monster-hunting team.

Skills/Powers
Jack does indeed have a physical form, yet he can choose not to have it visable when there's no shadows nearby. When there are shadows in a theorized 200 yards around him, he can move to any of them instantly, simply "phasing" out of existance and back on the new location. It is also theorized he can materialize himself in people's nightmares, where it is believed that he goes when he "vanishes" completely. His powers aren't physical. They are powers of the mind and of terror. What sort of creature he is isn't known yet, but he has power over mind and shadow.

He can also shape a shadow and animate it in whatever way he wants. It may not be fast, but it is effective, as it can be made physical. A shadow made into a needle can stick a hole in someone's heart without anyone noticing. Yet he never uses his own body when fighting. He protects it with illusions and shaping shadows, and fights with the same abilities. Can be a tricky opponent to wrap your hands around.

Other Things of Interest
Even though he hasn't spoken yet doesn't mean he cannot speak. Even though he has been "captured" doesn't mean he'd rather be somewhere else.
Does not remember much about before the phasing.
