They Dwell Below

Kara was wandering the rough lands of Virginia alone, her messy red hair blowing gently in the wind. She had been without human contact for 3 months now and all she had left was a locket around her neck and a few lousy makeshift weapons.
She was running out of water and food, I can't go on much longer... she thought to herself.

Off in the corner of her eye she could see something slightly resembling a light, Kara decided to get closer, having no other real choice.
As she got closer the light source became clear to her, a flame with two people sat next to it. She raised her makeshift projecticle launcher forward and approached slowly, aiming it towards the pair
"Grab any weapons and I'll shoot!"
Kara shouted this towards the couple, her voice timid and weak
"I don't want to harm you"
She shouted again, getting closer.

Biography: Kara was born into a survivor camp just north of Virginia, the camp welcomed anybody it could find. 16 years after her birth a power struggle began in the camp, it was split into two halves. One half consisted of those who wanted survival over all else, wanting to remove the weak from the camp. The other half being the opposite, keeping other people alive, able bodied or not.

Kara found herself as an ambassador between the two groups, helping to resolve the struggle. Fights broke out between the two groups and many people died, until eventually the strong left, leaving Kara in a group with the weak. Kara managed to keep this group going for 7 years, drawing in more and more members. At the age of 16 she met a girl called Anna, the two quickly became lovers.

Some of the more powerful members of the group heard about the relationship between Kara and Anna and urged that it be stopped, claiming "If the women get together, no children will be born and the future will be lost". Kara understood this but loved Anna too much to stop, they were quickly kicked out from the group and forced to survive on their own.

Kara and Anna began heading south towards Virginia, it was their only hope of survival, there must be something there for them. But as they entered Virginia tragedy struck. Kara and Anna were attacked by the langue, and Anna sacrificed herself to save Kara.
Now she wanders alone, hoping to find somebody, anybody.

Relationships: Anna (deceased): Kara's lover for 7 years, murdered by a langue
James and Sharon (deceased: Kara's parents, died shortly after her birth.
Lens and Iris: I don't like it but I have no choice but to stick with these two for now, chances are they're waiting for the opportunity to kill me. I may have to get them first.

Londons Calling [Sci-fi] [Modern day]

Hostile alien life has been showing up on earth for over a decade now, the military has been mostly successful in their efforts to keep it a secret from the general public. But now, the attacks are becoming more frequent and the military has designated groups of specialists in major areas to help deal with the threat.

Assigned to lead the London branch was team leader Kairi Clarke, a brave individual who had helped defend her home country countless other times. But she would need a team, she searched around the country to find willing individuals. It wasn't just man power she needed, she was looking for anyone extraordinary, for help with the investigations, contacting those affected by the attacks and dealing with an attack if it may occur.

This roleplay is going to be centered around the relationships forming between the characters (non-romantic and romantic) and them dealing the stress of a possible coming invasion, as well as investigating attacks and possibly having to fight back.
