Klou sputtered a cough as she fell to the floor, trying to pull in as much air as she could. Blearily, her gaze wandered up to the retreating skeleton, then past it to see May clutching her dagger.
"No!" she coughed, pushing herself to her feet and steadying herself. She wouldn't let this thing hurt anybody else, not while she still lived. Taking a moment to orient herself, Klou backed up a few paces, then crouched down and coiled her legs, pushing forward and up as she leaped into the air. Raising both fists above her head, she brought them down together on the already weakened skull of her foe, aiming to completely shatter it with one blow. She put all of her strength into the hit, not thinking of defense or even landing afterward. If she didn't end it here, it was almost certain she wouldn't get another chance like this. Sending her heart out in a wordless prayer to Isis, she closed her eyes at the moment of impact and let herself fall.
London and Seattle: Two vastly different territories defended by two vastly different families. That is, until the heirs to both families fall in love, get married and decide to swan off on their honeymoon, leaving the groom's younger sister in charge of both areas. Already struggling to fill out her own household, Alice must now bridge the gap between both communities, sharing the work of both families. From battling monsters to granting wishes, breaks are few and far between and relaxation is a distant memory.
As if that wasn't enough to turn her hair white prematurely, there have been sinister signs boiling beneath the surface of her territories. A dark force seems to be gathering across the globe, turning people's hearts to violence. All Alice ever wanted was a family to call her own, but now will she have to risk their lives in order to save so many others?

This is obviously a Highschool DxD RP. If you haven't watched the show, you should probably go do that before you try and join. I'm not gonna be super hard on rules, but it basically boils down to don't be "that guy" and you only get one guaranteed warning. I'm not unreasonable, but if I've told you not to do something and you keep doing it, you better believe that's a paddlin'. Characters are judged on a per-submission basis, and heavily influenced on what I think we need at the moment, so the earlier you sign up, the more likely you get exactly what you want. That said, Four pawns, the Queen, and one of each other piece are reserved for people joining later, so keep that in mind.
Update: From here on, new characters will not start in Alice's household. Instead they will start unattached and be added to the peerage after a time. I will be selecting which Evil Piece each new character gets, though I can be pretty easily swayed if you have a preference.

Renfield College - A privately owned not-for-profit college with low tuition rates and decent teachers. Was originally just a front for the Allocer household, but gradually grew into something of a pet project for the family. The school provides backstories for members of the Allocer bloodlines as well as their households, and serves as a base of operations in Seattle.
Corrumpi Consulting - A spacious three floor office building in central London, ostensibly housing a 'Jack of All Trades' consulting firm. This front for the Corrumpi family has become a serious money making project over time, and many lower class devils have been employed by the family to fill demand.

Klou struggled against the skeleton's bony grip, kicking against it's body wherever she could land a blow. Her free hand scrabbled at her throat, trying to get some room to breathe. Her thoughts seemed to disconnect from her predicament, as if someone else was controlling her body and someone else would have to deal with the consequences of her foolish mistakes. She tried to think of a way to escape and turn things in her favor, but the monster was stronger than her, it was tougher than her, it might even be faster than her. Her blows were only minimally effective and it now had the advantage over her tactically. This was it. She would die here and never go back home. She would never repay Isis for saving her, she would never become an alchemist. She would be killed here before accomplishing anything right in front of May.
May...
Klou's thoughts snapped back into perspective all at once, and the hand scrabbling to dislodge the blockage around her neck instead moved to support the other at keeping the weapon at bay, and she wrapped her legs around the skeleton's bony ones, trying to keep it in place. She craned her neck around as much as she could, trying to catch a glimpse of the other girl.
"R-run..." She choked out as loudly as she could, willing May to listen. She couldn't save herself anymore, she wouldn't be able to defeat this enemy, but she could certainly slow it down before it turned it's attention on anyone else.

Having managed to get inside it's reach, Klou's next priority was gaining control of the spear. If she could disarm it, she was sure she would be able to easily handle anything else it could do to her. Even if the idea of a monster from level 5 was initially frightening, it was still a monster from the upper levels and alone at that. Reaching for the spear above where the bony hands grasped it, she used her other hand to beat against the creature's forearms, trying to either force it to let go or break the limbs holding the weapon. Once she got the spear out of it's reach, dismantling the skeleton would be a much simpler matter.

"May, stay back! Keep out of it's reach!" Klou shouted, "I'll take care of the fighting here," With May on standby, Klou could afford to get a bit reckless. She dashed forward suddenly, keeping an eye on the tip of the spear and trying to read the first attack. All she needed to do was get inside it's range, and the fight would be hers.
That spear was the big issue with that plan. If she got even a scratch, it would poison her. She only had one shot at this, so she had to make it count. The skeleton's movements were erratic, and it was hard to know whether a twitch was an attack or just another step forward, but she pushed all other thoughts out of her head. Right now the only things that mattered were her and the spear, and she would make sure that it didn't touch her.
