Could I come in with a human-carnivorous-plant? :D I'd love to play a waitress in the café, that or a customer. I already have the character, I'll just have to write and PM the sheet.
Aava stared at the map presented before her, trying to understand what Evren was saying. "(Is that far?)" Aava asked with a frown. "It is just a small distance away..." she continued in english. Aava - never having seen a map before - didn't quite grasp the concept of distance on map. Looking around the cabin, Aava began wandering around and looking at things, examining them. She wandered around, looking for something sharp like a knife or scissors. "(Evren, what do you do in your 'home'?)" Aava asked after a while, still wandering around. There was so much more to do underwater. Nessa nodded at Beck, her mind buzzing with questions. Leaving town really did sound pretty tempting. She'd have to be in hiding for a while, so it seemed that Beck and her were both leaving the town for different reasons. "You're from Boston?" Nessa asked before she could stop herself, awkwardly leaning against the wall as well. She really didn't know why she even cared. Nessa cast her eyes downwards and rubbed her palms. They felt cold and numb. A faint throbbing pain radiated from her slowly healing leg. "I think I should leave town too, for the time being. That lunatic seems to know where I live, and it doesn't make me feel exactly safe," Nessa explained with an unreadable expression. The ravenette couldn't really place the feeling, but being around the other woman felt strange. It was probably the most connection she'd had to another person in years, all in one day. Just seeing someone more than once in a day was strange already, but... Sigh. Nessa closed her eyes, trying to dispel the beginnings of a headache there. She tried not to think about her weird feelings too much.
Niji is a light olive skinned girl with long, dark brown hair. Her facial features are slim, complimenting her oval head shape. Niji has short, dark eyebrows and thick lashes that frame her gray eyes. She is dressed in increasingly complex robes and jewellery that somehow make her look too young to be wearing them. Niji is 165cm tall (5'4") and her voice has a very clear sound to it.
Legendary:
Legendary Moves: Ancient Power, Whirlwind, Weather Ball, Sunny Day Legendary Powers: - Regenerator: Niji has the passive power of making people and pokemon around her feel more lively, almost like just seeing her is enough to bring life back to tattered souls. - Niji has peculiar dreams in which she is flying through the air, looking over the world. In her nightmares she is burning, being reborn from her own ashes. Sometimes she sees visions of reviving other pokemon from their ashes. Fire and the sky, they always seem to be present in her visions and dreams. - Whenever it rains somewhere Niji is, a rainbow will follow. Sometimes when she is happy, a rainbow can be seen forming on a clear, cloudless sky. - If Niji is upset or angered, the close vicinity around might burst up in Sacred Flames. She cannot control this enough to use in battle, but the flames seem to be attached to her emotional state. The flames will burn almost anything into fine, almost sparkling ash.
Biography: Niji was born to a couple living in Johto region's Azalea Town. The day she was born, a mysterious rainbow appeared in the sky even though it hadn't been raining previously. This is what her name came from: A rainbow blessing. Niji had quite an ordinary childhood for the first years of her life, but then her unusual powers were discovered. Niji's parents were very young when they had her, so they weren't at all experienced on how to be good parents. So when it came out that Niji was unusual, a reicarnation of the legendary rainbow pokemon, Ho-Oh, Niji's parent's were clueless. They took her to Ecruteak City, where the Sages of the Bell Tower claimed her as Ho-Oh's reincarnation and wanted her to stay there.
Most of Niji's memories are of her spending her youth inside the four walls of the Bell Tower, where it is said the legendary Ho-Oh resided before the disappearance of all the legendaries. The Sages made Niji take the place of Ho-Oh as the being they protected and worshiped, believing Niji to possess the same power to grant eternal happiness to whoever saw her. This is why she spent her life mostly locked up inside the Bell Tower - protected, as the Sages put it - only to meet the selected few and grant them "her blessing". Growing up being viewed as some sort of deity definitely shaped Niji's worldview and self-image. Aside from not really experiencing life outside of the Sages and the Bell Tower, Niji really just lived her life doing whatever she was told to do. So when the invite to the Reincarnation tournament arrived, the Sages emphasized that it was her duty to attend and show the pokemon world the true might of Ho-Oh. Since the sense of duty runs very deep in Niji's bones, she felt like she had to do what she was told, and so she began her quest to become the mightiest Reincarnation, no matter how she really felt.
Original region: Johto
Other: Niji isn't really that into pokemon or battling, but she is acting out of sense of duty for her legacy and the Sages who worship her. Because she was always told what to do, she never really developed a personality or a will of her own. She really doesn't know what she wants, only what is wanted and expected of her. However, leaving Ecruteak City and the Sages behind for this new journey has opened the opportunity for Niji to realise that there is more to her than what she has been taught her whole life; perhaps her true interests and motives don't even align with the people who she was brought up by. In short, this journey isn't just about being the best for Niji, it is about finding yourself for the first time in the truest meaning of the word.
Pokémon team:
Pokémon species: Volcarona (Female) Pokémon nickname: N/A Pokémon moves: Gust, Fire Spin Pokémon ability: Flame Body Pokémon held item: N/A Pokémon other: Volcarona was gifted to Niji by the Sages of Bell Tower when she turned 18. She was fully evolved when Niji recieved her, but she doesn't seem to be a very experienced pokemon yet. It doesn't help that Niji and the Volcarona don't really have a natural connection or a bond a trainer and their pokemon usually have.
Pokémon species: Natu (Female) Pokémon nickname: (Optional) Pokémon moves: Peck, Night Shade, Lucky Chant, Teleport Pokémon ability: Early Bird Pokémon held item: N/A Pokémon other: Natu was the first actual pokemon Niji caught herself. While this was done under a constructed environment and she had little to no say in the matter, the fact that she caught the pokemon herself helped Niji feel more connected to the Natu.
Aava huffed at Evren's comment about her hair, letting him help her over the rail. "(Pretty, but gets stuck. Ouch,)" the Näkki responded. The two continued along, walking in the woods until until Aava heard the faint sound of a brook. The sound of water always made her feel calm and safe. "(Stream is friendly,)" Aava hummed as they got closer. The babble of the brook was so relaxing that Aava almost forgot all of her other anxieties from before. She could listen to the moving of the stream for days on end and not get bored. "(Why does no one speak the correct language?)" Aava then asked, the question popping to her head after a brief silence. It was weird, no one was speaking the language she was most familiar with, save for Evren. Nessa turned around as she heard Beck's voice shouting from behind her. Sighing and letting her guard down a little, Nessa just shook her head. It was weird that someone seemed to be actually worried about her. "He didn't hurt me, just talked nonsense and made weird accusations," Vanessa replied. "He wanted... to make a deal with me or something. I'm smarter than that, though," Nessa shoffed as she walked closer to Beck.
"Wow! You look quite majestic, sir Rapier," Toshi greeted the large Staraptor that was looking at them from above. Toshi looked at Regan with an open smile as she listened to her be confused about pokemon coordinators. His friendly grin only widening as Regan tried to guess what it was about only got bigger from amusement. "Sort of, yes. But it's more than that. Being a pokemon coordinator is hard - you have to be in complete sync with your partners, body, mind, and soul alike. So it's like pokemon battling, but without anyone getting hurt. Plus it is really beautiful, seeing the bond between pokemon and their trainers, and the amount of fine practice it takes to coordinate a spectacle," Toshi explained while stroking Toto's back. "If I can't get Mantine to co-operate with me, I have no hope of ever becoming a pokemon coordinator, though..." the leaf haired boy sighed, glancing back at the Mantine that was currently flailing around in the fountain.
@Salenea Lorie's mood instantly darkened when Sarah mentioned that public transportation required a pokedex for it to be free. It felt like Sarah was rubbing the fact to her face, although a part of Lorie knew that this wasn't the woman's intention. Being social was hard, and picking up on social cues was even harder. And the travel distance being long enough to take the better part of a day really didn't help. Then again... Did she really have much better things to do? "I'm fine walking," Lorie stated as they began making their way. After all, if she ever got tired she had her Scolipede to ride on. She was actually how Lorie made most her travels across routes. The female bug/poison pokemon was large, sturdy and above all, very fast. The perfect travel companion for Lorie and Sneasel. The newly introduced - and quite frankly unlikely - pair made their way to the direction of their destination on foot. Sneasel followed loosely behind, sometimes straying off to explore bushes or things that could have something valuable in them. The silence between the women was growing kind of strained, as neither of them seemed to be the overtly chatty type. After a brief walk the city scenery changed to wilderness, although there was still a clear road to follow.
I've been looking for a FxF rp like this for weeks! Princess Panic is something I'd love more than anything, but the second plot also sounds good! Should I PM you?
@NightmareInd Yeah, that's where I was going with it. Volcarona and Niji don't have a bond so the Volcarona doesn't listen to her at times and I'm actually thinking of keeping it at 2 moves atm so I can really make it more basic. The reason I wanted to go with Volcarona and not Larvesta was because of Volcarona's lore and design, but I can switch it to Larvesta if you think it is going to cause some balance issues.

@Ryik I thought we wouldn't be taking stats so seriously, kinda like in the anime a statistically weaker pokemon (like pichu) can win in a fight against a stronger one (i.e. scyther). I say this because I think that frankly, it's more interesting if we are allowed creativity in the battle and it isnt just "use flamethrower" and "use rest". Makes it feel more realistic too if we aren't only after stats.
If this is going to be a game of stats where we should only try to pick the most competitively reasonable pokemon (you know, not farfetch'd or say, dunsparce), I might have to reconsider joining. I much prefer things following a more cinematic line, if you will (while also staying true to movepools etc. of course)
