The human mouth is one of the dirtiest places in the body, filled as it is with food and airborne pathogens and all manner of nasty things that fly around in the air on a daily basis. But not you. Your mouth is always -- always -- minty fresh. Your mouth is clean constantly, and it is so clean because microorganisms can't survive in your there. Anything that enters your mouth is eventually consumed and broken down into nothing, leaving nothing behind but the refreshing scent of mint. Your saliva is the world's strongest antibiotic, and using it, you can eventually cure any disease.

I once created a joke superhero who had the ability to teleport his arms, but no other part of his body and only within his line of sight. Try me.
You trip on your ridiculously long, flowing scarf and break your neck.
Well why'd you even show up to this thread then? You're ruining the game for everybody. God, what a jerk.

anyway
A slumped-over man in red perked up his ears. He glanced over at the gathering crowd across the way, looked up at the robot, then sighed heavily and continued walking.

After a moment, though, he stopped in his tracks and looked back. He didn't say or do anything for a long moment. But eventually, he glanced down at his chest, eyeing the two hand grenades that were still attached to his ammo belt. After a minute or two, he nodded, tightened his face in a somewhat determined manner only to let it slump again a few moments later, then approached the group.

"E... Excuse me," the man said through a gravelly American accent. "I was... passing by, and I couldn't help but overhear. I don't know what your... situation here is, but... I think you mentioned you were looking for gear?" He cleared his throat and coughed once, then continued. "Well... I've still got some contacts. If you and your... friends need munitions, I can hook you up, if you want..."
So, I've been away for a while and I want to get back into play-by-post. I do have other things I want to do with my time, so I'm not ready to commit to building and GMing a setting. But I've gone through the Interest Check forums and I haven't been able to find something that catches my interest -- or at least, anything that caught my interest that was accepting applicants. This is not ideal. The way I see it, though, the best way to get what you want is to ask for it.

This thread doesn't fit the standard Interest Check format as I understand it, which is why it's here instead of in one of those forums. (Though if it does belong in an Interest Check forum, mods, please let me know so I can move it there.) If I've got 'em pegged right, those forums are places for GMs to post so that they can find players. This thread, then, is the logical opposite of that: a place for players to find GMs. In this thread, people can get together to describe the type of game they'd like to be players in. Once that's done, hopefully, some enterprising poster will come along and volunteer to GM that game. And then hopefully the newly-found group can bounce over to the Interest Check forums to pick up extra players as necessary and everyone will have a good time. I think this is a good idea. I hope it is.

Since I'm the OP, I guess I'll start us off: I'm hoping to play a game in a modern superhero setting. Something street-level, with a strong comedic edge if possible. Failing that, I'm a sucker for anything cyberpunk, but if people are in here running cyberpunk games, I haven't found 'em.
Everything's on hiatus.
I visited this place once before. But that was a long, long time ago. According to the records, it's been three years. I didn't make much of an impact. I joined a group, got showed up and left. In the time between them and now, I bounced around between a bunch of miscellaneous things. But not this thing. I haven't played-by-post in years. But maybe that's where my strengths lie. Less improv. Something to let me get my thoughts down ahead of time. I need to sharpen my writing skills if I'm going to do it professionally like I've decided I've always dreamed, and people always say that the best way to improve at something is to do it a little every day. So I decided to come back. But because it's been so long since I was here last, and I left so little impact when I was here the first time, I doubt anyone would remember me. So I figured I should introduce myself again, just to be safe. I hope that's alright.

When I was here before, I called myself Conch Shell VII. Between then and now, I haven't been able to come up with anything better.
So, I've been thinking about a few things.

Among them: the fact that Metronome is infinitely better than me and I only beat him out for a slot in this group because I got my bullshit out faster than he could fill his CS out.
The clatter from the kitchen was punctuated by a mild groan. "Oh, son of a... Don't worry, everybody, I'm okay." There was the clattering of pots and pans again for a few moments, and then the source of the noise rolled out into the living room. "Can't see where the hell I'm going in there... Nothing's broken in there, though." Overreach let out a soft sigh and parked himself in the middle of the room, glancing between its occupants briefly. "So... how's the candle situation going?"
Soooo... uh... Is there anything I could be doing right now? I'm kinda... new here, so...
