Konohagakure Ninja’s POV

The Konohagakure ninja held his ground as he calmly analysed the situation. His vision had been obscured by dust prior to the disappearance of his target, which alone didn't suggest anything concrete. He himself could cloak himself in a similar technique by utilizing Fire Release: Ash Pile Burning technique. Most important was not the fact that he saw nothing but that he heard nothing immediately after the explosion of earth and debris. His opponents had not made their escape above ground. Which meant that his opponents had most likely escaped underground. The use of what was most likely Earth Release: Antlion Technique just prior to the rescue only confirmed his theory. He was dealing with an Earth Release ninja. Which meant that their next attack would most likely come from below.

At once he became wary of the ground directly beneath his feet, lest he be caught unaware by a second subsidence style earth technique. He held his tanto close in a defensive stance as his eyes scanned the area around him, his ears straining for even the slightest of sounds. And for that reason and that reason only he heard the earth start to crack beneath his feet. Without waiting he leapt forward into the air in a spinning motion. Without hesitation he expelled a large volume of explosive ash from his mouth and into the air where he had been stood. Using the flint hidden in his mouth he ignited the ash, causing a violent, localized explosion. But he was not finished yet. As soon as his feet hit the ground he immediately formed the hand seals required to use Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere, creating a blast of air straight into the black, soot ridden cloud.

Tsubaki’s POV

Tsubaki didn't have time to find out if the man she rescued was OK. He was breathing still and that was good enough for the moment. No sooner had she propped the man up against the wall she had burrowed back into the earth using Earth Release: Subterranean Voyage to move at relatively high speeds back to where she had been moments before, the earth becoming fluid like water at her passing. By now she guessed that the Konohagakure attacker would be more than aware of her presence. Not her precise location of course as being underground provided her protection from even the most observant individual. However it still meant that he would be on edge and therefore that much more difficult to ambush after she emerged. And without knowing his capabilities a failed ambush might well result in her own death. However if she did nothing more would likely die as a result. It was time for Tsubaki to take advantage of her well-honed adaptability.

Konohagakure Ninja’s POV

As the remnants of the explosion slowly dissipated following his wind attack the Konohagakure ninja stood ready, not allowing his confidence to dictate his actions. There was no doubt in his mind that he had hit something, no, someone with his explosion attack. And even had they survived that they would have been in no position to evade his second attack. But even so he kept his tanto raised aggressively in one hand, his other hovering just above his shuriken pouch. His caution was well founded, the ninja grimacing to himself as a figure emerged from the smoke and ash, shards of blackened, charred earth crumbling from their form like a snake shedding its skin. He ground his teeth in annoyance but held his ground as his opponent drew her sword from behind her waist and levelled it in his direction. He knew her face.

Tsubaki’s POV

Tsubaki had been right to prepare herself as she did, using Earth Release Armour before she attempted to attack him from below. It had still hurt of course, two separate and distinct explosive impacts hitting her one after the other. The first had been some kind of explosion, a bomb maybe or a fire jutsu, the second some of kind of mono directional impact from the front. The fact that the combined assault destroyed her armour spoke of her attackers skill. The fact that she was not dead or injured told her that neither of those attacks had been Lightning Release. Which was good, since she was rather fond of being alive. As the last of her defence crumbled away she drew her sword and levelled it toward her opponent. Tsubaki smiled in a deceptively kind fashion.
*Slaps @Sagittarius playfully*

No! Bad Boy!
Well I have a few villains connected to my characters back story in mind but it's too early to use them. I'll post them for approval once they are fleshed out better. And fear not I will be controlling them.

*Hums thoughtfully*

Give me the low down on the ninja that I just used Antlion technique on so that I can control him~
If Isabelle thought to embarrass her she going to be very disappointed. Silk was no innocent little maiden who blushed at the first implication of intimacy with a man…or woman for that matter. Instead she followed Isabelle’s gaze and looked at Matthew in a critical manner, humming thoughtfully as did so. She put her hands on her hips and leaned toward Matthew before smiling roguishly. “Well, I suppose I could do worse. He’s seen a bit of action but I think I can smooth out the edges,” she said jokingly before grinning at Matthew. She turned back toward Isabelle and crossed her arms over her ample chest. “But as prince charming here says, we’re business partners, purely professional. And I agree, let us all meet at the gates in an hour or so. I have…places that I need to visit before we leave, arrangements to make,” Silk said in agreement.
Reynard turned to Joshua and smiled with an easy, natural confidence. “Don’t worry about it, it’s nothing to be ashamed about,” he said with the same easy confidence that his expression implied. He then turned toward Aaron as he described his experiences outside of the ring. He laughed cheerfully and nodded his head. “Glad to hear it man. Was worried for a moment that you might have seen yourself as some kind of undefeatable ass kicking machine. That kind of confidence has its merits sure but more often than not all it does is get a guy killed,” he said with the voice of experience.

He hummed in thought for a moment as he tried to decide how best to answer Aaron’s question. At first he considered lying but that would never work. These guys were too clever for that if they were even half as smart as his sister. So for now he would skirt around the truth without actually lying to anyone. He had no doubt they would pick up on it but hoped that they would be discreet enough to respect his privacy. Besides, if they were desperate enough to know he had no doubt that they would just go bother Claudette instead. Speaking of which, where was she? He hadn’t seen her in a while now. “I’m nothing special, I’m just here to watch out for my little sister. She’s not the violent type. That’s where I come in,” he said as he looked around bus curiously. Where had she gone to?

“But yeah, when it comes to fighting I’ve got your back, provided you have mine…whe…have you guys seen Claudette? She was here a moment ago,” he said with growing concern, his sentence trailing off as his eyes locked onto his sister. He had to act at once. There was no time to hesitate. Without a moment of hesitation he pulled a notepad from his inner pocket and launched it with surprising force straight toward Aaron. Or to be more accurate the spot just above Aaron’s head. There was a thud as Claudette flew backwards, her eyes spinning as she crumbled onto the seat behind Aaron. Two acupuncture needles fell onto the seat beside Aaron. Reynard smiled triumphantly. “My sister can be…difficult. Don’t worry, she’ll come to soon.”
Tsubaki slowly opened her eyes, becoming aware of the all-encompassing darkness that surrounded her. There was a strong smell of earth, that musty organic smell that was neither pleasant nor distasteful. The air was warm and humid and verging on stale. How long had she been down here anyway? And why? Her head suddenly hurt something awful, reminding her as to the why. So now the question was why had she awoken so suddenly? She was alone, that much was certain. So whatever it was must have been above her. She reached out her hand blindly into the pitch blackness and concentrated. There was a commotion above, presences moving in an aggressive fashion. An attack perhaps? She was no sensor type so she could not be more accurate than that. She allowed her arm to fall back to her side. Tsubaki sighed. Time to earn her keep.

===================================

The principle advantage of subterranean jutsu was their ability to mask a ninja’s presence even from sensor types, never mind normal ninja no matter how observant and there were very few exceptions to that rule. Which was why the Konohagakure ninja did not perceive her approach as he readied his blade to strike down a defeated enemy sentry. Ideally Tsubaki would have used Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation Technique to disable him at once, however that technique required direct contact and the sentry didn't have that kind of time. So Tsubaki opted for a less direct approach. Instead of a direct attack the enemy ninja felt the earth directly beneath his feet start to give way, stone cracking and mud turning to fine sand. He had no choice but to leap away to avoid being sucked to his death beneath the earth.

Earth Release: Antlion Technique, a jutsu that creates a sinking pit of earth reminiscent of the trap created by the insect that shares its name. Tsubaki didn't need much chakra for such a small pit. Any larger and she would have drawn the sentry in as well. However she was not done yet, the sentry was still in danger and the invader was still active. Active and aware that someone was beneath him. Before he could react further she burst out of the ground in front of him, his vision obscured momentarily by a hail of dust, stone and sand. He expected an attack and prepared to meet it. But nothing happened. The dust cleared a moment later to reveal that not only was there no one attacking him but that the injured sentry was gone. He was alone, slightly confused and covered in dirt. Elsewhere an equally confused ninja came back to his senses in the relative safety of an alley, covered in a fine layer of dirt.
How did you see her turning out out of curiosity?
There you go. Lumière just draped herself all over Bane~
“Oh, I don’t know, I think some of us are plenty ready, alcohol or no,” Lumière said cheerfully as she seemed to materialise out of nowhere behind Bane and draped herself over his shoulders. She turned to look at the man in question before looking back toward Kayla. She rested her chin on Bane’s shoulder as she wrapped her arms around his chest. He really did smell of alcohol. Stank of it in fact. It made her feel slightly ill, not that anyone would be able to tell from her hidden expression. “And what’s wrong with being alone, I've been alone for the last seven years and I'm OK,” she said completely aware of how crazy she came off to others.

Lumière laughed cheerfully as she pushed off of Bane’s back. She did her best to ignore the man in the immaculate suit now leaning against Bane’s side, ‘his’ hat tipped over his head. He smiled knowingly. Lumière stood up straight and crossed her arms, her head tilted on its side. Underneath her mask she was frowning. Where had the spirit gone? The passion and fury that had once burned so brightly in these people? Perhaps they truly had been broken by time. Under her mask she smiled and then laughed out loud. “You have the Witchhunter on your side, so it’s not all bad! Just tell me who I need to kill.”
Luka momentarily flashed Iggy a look that could have been interpreted in many ways. Not all of them pleasant. She wasn't entirely sure that this was a good idea at all but at the end of the day she was going to go along with Iggy’s decision. She made a mental note to beat an answer out of him later. She sighed and nodded in agreement. “As you wish,” she said with no particular enthusiasm as she followed after Iggy and Mimi, her hands wrapped around the back of her head, kicking her legs out as she followed after them. The tip of her staff crackled with electricity rather than arcs of lightning, a testament to her current level of control. Unlike Iggy and Mimi who probably saw the potential in such objects Luka only saw the trouble that they could cause.
