Fairy image is forbidden (403).

Yeah, it's a Pixiv image.

Went and grabbed the Pixiv ID from the image url, so I'm assuming this is the pic that was wanted?

葛 馮虚 (コペンハーゲン・スター)

The cool, contemplating gaze of Katsura Hyoukyo, class representative of East Umitori High's Class 3-G, swept over the familiar blonde who had addressed her, a sign of recognition immediately finding its way to her face. While she was not personally acquainted with the younger girl, she knew her to be a fellow student of hers, albeit one attending first year rather than third like her. The underclasswoman's name was, if she recalled correctly:

"There is no need, Nakajima-san," she replied politely with a kindly smile, the name slotting into her mind with little to no difficulty. Nakajima Hoshi was one of the more prominent first years, likely due to her exuberance, and the information she had obtained via osmosis was enough to identify the blonde quite quickly. "Thank you for your offer, but I do not wish to impose."

Why not take it, boss? We coulda gotten out more fast and get the sausages!

It is simply polite not to take advantage of an underclassman, and the amount of time saved is too miniscule to expend extra effort on.

Sausages are deffo worth the effort!

As are improving your manners.

The purple-haired girl merely gestured with a slender arm for the younger girl to retake her place in the line. Even if she had not been a member of the lower year levels, and thus deserving of a third year's duty to provide support to their younger brethren, Hyoukyo would have still refused to take advantage of the situation, no matter if the possibility that a single second could be saved remained. Not that it was likely, of course; of the second-hand information she had gleaned of Nakajima, there was a constant thread between them: the blonde was fast. Likely faster than her, meaning that she would merely be inconveniencing herself in she took the offer. It was wiser, then, to simply refuse.
Took me a while to get that post up, but here I am.

Anyway, this thing about changing the magic system, yeah?

Personally dig the way the powers are associated with a Vessel, so I'm fine with keeping it the way it is. Not exactly too sure on how you want to change to a more Vancian thing. By classic JRPG magic style, do you mean like, an MP-based system where casting something uses up some points, or like, you have a limited number of uses ala FF1? I'm not too clear on what would take the place of the current system, sorry.
someone run it i need more credits and i did it last time

TZI TI'AMTUM

"Don't think you should be letting anyone watch anyway, kiddo," said Tzi casually in response to Esther's sorta uncouth declaration, his eyes still following the retreating form of that sergeant. "Not that you should uh, tell us anyway."

That weirdness aside, the sergeant sure had been one real grump and jerkish old coot, and he had to really agree with Althea on calling him "creepy and vile". Sure, he'd seen folks like that around before, but not usually in a decent position in the military. Then again, a place like this probably wanted a good fighter over a person who was more upstanding. Dang, it was lucky they didn't get involved in a fight then, because he wouldn't want to face off a guy like that as well as all his men. It would be really awesomely fun, but then they'd be leaving all the injured out to dry, and no matter how cool a fight could be, he just wasn't cool with the consequences of doing so. Not that he thought that a fight was cool or anything. It could've just been ... fun.

Yeah.

That was it.

He glanced over at his companions. Althea had left for some more of her doctoring stuff, while Leon was looking away from Esther rather embarrassedly ... which the shirtless young man didn't really see what was embarrassing about. The little girl was wearing less clothes than usual, he supposed, but ... ah yeah, that was something. He'd lend her some clothes to keep her safe from the cold, but he'd left his uniform in the dorms. And he wasn't going to take off a nonexistent shirt to help out.

Anyway, Leon. And the new guy who had come by was his brother?

"Didn't know you had a bro," said Tzi, the two-meter tall young man glancing over at the aforementioned Anton and giving him a casual wave. "Hey there, I'm Tzi."

"Oh, and -" he said a moment later, quickly turning to the Aquilan cadet ... Viola, was it? ... to voice a question of his. "- What happened to you guys, if you don't mind me asking? Or do you have to brief the bigwigs first?"

Happiness. Their chittering intensified, the joyful cries of an angelic choir filling the air as the shambling masses of beautiful, tumour-ridden flesh arched in shuddering pleasure, the acidic green overflowing from those cystic pores. A million feet tapped in an eerie, disjointed rhythm, and they simply began to pull away, escorting the stolen boy from his companions with naught a care for their efforts. They were quick, unnaturally so. A horde of happy, bulbous creatures of pulsing rot - black, yellow, pink - that rolled their manic, disgusting eyes as they sought to flee.

To take away the unfortunate Alexander.

They wanted him.

They chittered, rapidly skittering away from the teenagers.

And nothing would stop them.

Not when the would-be saviours would soon too be dead.

"NO!"

From a hallway beyond, the cry was made. A desperate, despairing scream.

Panicked running.

The world was reborn anew in flame.

Behind the unfortunate group, a rushing torrent, twin lines of searing white, burst across the wooden planks beneath them, raging heat bursting through the air. Two creatures, black and red and burning, rose from where the streams met the walls: groaning, hissing as fire crackled, sparks flitting through the warm, smoking air and dissipating into the clouds. They stood in front of the teenagers, a looming threat between them and the door, taking up their time as the chittering tumours disappeared.

Those creatures spasmed.

Enveloped in flame. Smoke mixing into the dull orange.

Golden pinpoints of light flashed into existence.

"I'm too late ..."

The same voice from before. Drained. Scared. Exhausted and pained. The footsteps slowed. A young man, slightly shorter than average and with his hair shaken into a mess, stopped mere metres away from the group. He was dressed in the uniform of Uchima Senior High, but his gakuran was covered in cuts and burns, and soot littered its entire surface. Small wounds dotted a bruised face, and there was a clotting cut right underneath his eye. Most eyecatching, however, was the small red hairclip attached to his hair.

Something shook.

"Get away!" he tried to shout to them.

It was too late.

Though the wisps of flame still burnt through the air, there was an eerie, unnatural coldness. Of the heart.

The newcomer froze.

And it came.

The simple, normal, footsteps.

Emerging from the smoke surrounding the door.

Striding past the two monsters of fire.

Towards the group.

A student in a gakuran.

A student walking closer. Like any other student. Like any other teenager. Male. Surrounded by horror.

No face.

None.

Just a mask. White. Black.

Like a mime.

The Park

There was a loud bang. Yet for those few in this area of the park at such a time, there was no sight, nor physical manifestation, of the source of the strange noise. There was a tinge of golden along the air, but such could easily be dismissed as merely the glow of the day. Nothing to be concerned with.

Another bang.

Smaller.

Quieter.

Unnoticed.

For the three teenagers standing in the park, the air seemed to rapidly displace. The air began to twist. It was distorting, the world around them taking upon a foggy, golden glow. The haze fell upon them, and the sounds of nature, of the park they were standing in, seemed to dull considerably. And then the air shook again, and the world itself seemed to shake for them.

Not just them.

Because something had come.

A new presence could be felt in the breeze. The atmosphere, glowing, seemed to shift.

Something snarled.

A primal, disgusting snarl.

"MORE OF. YOU. HUMANS."

And a barely-strung together declaration.

In front of the three teenagers emerged a massive creature. Its massive legs, two in number, were like powerful, muscled tree trunks, and black oozed down from its shins to its four-toed, heavy-stepping red feet. A cloud of white seeped from a hole in a red-yellow torso of immense size, a strange entrance where normally one would find the human navel. The cloud descended around the creature's body, obscuring much of its lower half. It had two arms, humanoid arms, that were muscled like a champion's, each bulging muscle almost frightening to behold. Yet above there was where the humanity seemed to stop.

A long, flowing neck. Flexible. Pale red. Jerking too and fro with wild abandon. A head more pig than man, with tusks emerging from beneath its fanged mouth. Protruding from the chin. Its eyes were a gleaming red. As if it had been crying. Pink strands of hair hung off its teeth. It hunched over, slamming its fists against the ground.

"OUT OF MY. WAY."

Uchima Senior High - A Hallway, 2nd Floor, Classroom Building???

"Um, so both of you have a ... Persona ..."

Ai trailed off, looking down at her hands quietly. For a split second, she wasn't doing anything, only staring at them, but then she immediately squinted, and her hands clenched, squeezing tightly. Her face was scrunched up cutely in exertion, but nothing was happening. A moment later, she stopped, and sighed almost dramatically.

"Looks like I haven't gotten powers mysteriously," she mock-lamented with an exaggerated huff, pouting. "If I did, I could help Ryo-kun and Takahashi-san against ..."

She quickly paused, eyes going unfocused for a second, before quickly moving her gaze in the direction of where she and Ryoma had come from.

"Ah, um," the third-year began, her tone somewhat squeaking as fear creeped back into her voice. "There's uh, um, this ice monster hunting us, so we need to find the exit before .... before ..."

"It finds us," she finished lamely.
