The amulet itself has no magical power remaining, the others posters are going to be responsible for reporting whether you see anything in them, and I wanted to save a more detailed description/aura reading for once Kael can get a good look at the people outside.
Ooooh...I wasn't planning on using his Ethereal sight on them, but maybe I should consider it now...
Since you made your text colored, I might as well follow suit...after all, knowing what people say is important, right? But dang, so much to take in, such a little space in time to cram words on taking it in into...fascinating!
Kael looks around the...seriously ornate carriage?...a bit disoriented from his sudden relocation. His first reaction is to look at the other people with him, of course. His eye is first drawn to the knight. Why is he in a carriage with a knight, he wonders? Then, perhaps more interestingly...why is one of the other passengers ticking? No, two of them? And humming? No wait, the humming is coming from outside...barzul, that ranger certainly did pick an interesting place for a magic demonstration, didn't he? The teenager takes a quick break from trying to figure out his surroundings and looks at the charm his mentor had given him for a moment. No sense in trying to use it now, but it felt different from before...he didn't sense the magic ready to be used as he'd been taught. He puts it down again as the younger girl asks where they are going...wait, so she doesn't know either? Some mage must have a lot of time on their hands to create a dimension like this...magic seems to be everywhere! "I'd like to know the answer to that question too, please." He quickly says. He then takes a second to shield his eyes from the rest of the carriage and looks at the charm again, using his Ethereal Sight enchantment as Cruallassar had taught him. He doubted that would actually tell him anything beyond how much power was still contained within it, since he hadn't learned to read spells or anything yet...but hell, it was practice. As long as he didn't let anyone else see his eyes glowing green for a moment, it couldn't hurt...Kael hadn't the slightest clue how these unknowns might react to that.
Everyone listed above, be ready to respond. All of you will be tagged in the first post and the 48 hour rule will officially be kicking in.
Does that mean that any who are not those characters will not be participating in the first iteration, or merely that other characters will not be present in it until further notice?
My character has arrived! I wonder what Terminal can do with a character who has less backstory than frontstory...
Name: Kael Arvindr Entity: Tserisian Human Age: 17 solar orbits of 365.25 planetary rotations of terrestrial duration each. I.E., 17 years old. Genre: Fortune favors the bold, and this fellow is certainly a fantasy sort of character...from our perspective at any rate. Allineation: A variable of unknown meaning which I cannot answer to any certain accuracy.
Description [-]
Kael stands about 5 feet, 11 inches tall with dark brown...borderline black...hair, kept mid-length in a mildly disheveled fashion. Green eyes are set in a narrow face, reminding one of a more human-looking sort of elvish facial angularity. He has a slender build, and seems always ready to bounce into action at a moments notice...and indeed, tends to stay moving even when he is standing still, keeping his hands occupied within themselves or shifting his weight from foot to foot.
Biography [-]
Kael Arvindr is a lad with less past history than future. Only a few short months ago, he was an impish prankster with a flair for the forbidden test of skill in his small village, who made himself worthwhile with the catch from his hunting and various other miscellaneous skills. His guardian, the town mage, tended to keep him out of too much trouble...and on the bright side, he always gave the things he stole back to their owners, and never caused any permanent damage...he was out for the thrill and skill of his activities, after all. A few weeks after a few months ago, that changed with a quarter of his village being destroyed by a Raszugan orc raiding party, and his decision that perhaps his destiny in life was to learn from the Ranger in black who saved the rest of it. Over the course of the next few months until present day, he would learn to improve his skills in archery, athletic ability, and critical thinking with a dash of magic on the side. Over the rest of the year to follow, he will learn the basics of the Elvish language, swordsmanship, some practical application of magic, and a number of other skills until at the end of the year, the Ranger to which he had attached himself puts him essentially on the throne of the nation following the last ten years of civil war. Yes, young Kael has quite the interesting future in store for him...though it seems a practical demonstration of dimensional magic will serve as an intriguing interlude in his story at the juncture where past history meets what is to come.
Attributes [-]
Skills: Kael is a fair shot with a bow, typically using such for hunting and having received additional training since meeting his mentor, the Ranger Cruallassar. He can reliably hit a squirrel from a hundred paces, or a stationary target from two hundred. He is passable with average bladed weapons in comparison with the average person, and can wield a sword if need be. He is quite skilled in the art of what would be called free-running or parkour in modern day. He is a deft pickpocket, and also possesses a reasonable degree of stealthiness, being able to walk silently and pick out paths that keep him out of another being's line of sight or make him less likely to be noticed. He is literate...a rarity among the lower classes...and also a fair artist, when the inclination strikes him. He can mend clothes, make traps, cook, and do a small number of other generally useful things as well. Lastly, the one magic spell he has been taught thus far, is that of Ethereal Sight, which allows him to see the aura of beings or magic spells around him...and also makes his eyes glow green when he uses it.
Abilities: Kael has trained himself to be quite athletic, possessing an above-average degree of agility, speed, endurance, reflexes, and stamina. Nothing supernatural though, just don't try to race him unless you're confident in your own abilities. He's also received training in his ability to observe, to notice things that might otherwise pass unseen, and to be constantly aware of all aspects of the world around him.
Knowledge: Kael is familiar with the magic of Tsoria, having been receiving a crash course in the topic recently. He is also knowledgeable in the political situation of the world, being keenly aware of the orc presence to the North of his land and the constant unrest of his nation.
Personal Effects [-]
Clothing: Kael wears a dark green tunic and black pants, with well-worn brown boots on his feet and a pair of leather gloves tucked in his similarly fashioned belt, when not on his hands. A dark green hunting cloak can be found wrapped around his shoulders, generally with the hood back, to complete the outfit.
Equipment: Kael bears a medium hunting bow and a quiver of thirty arrows, along with a dagger kept in a sheath on his belt. In pouches along said belt, he also has a shard of flint, a compass, and three springy balls that he was given to practice hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and knowledge of a held object's physical properties. He also has a small coil of Elvish rope, which is exceptionally strong and light.
We're not in the roleplay. This is in regards to the character sheet. It is neither an occurrence nor an event, but instead a request from the DM so he knows about our characters. I wouldn't be surprised if it had some effect IC (based on if it was filled out, and if so whether it was done correctly), but as things stand, this is a guess about you, not about the rp. I mean, you used a bunch of other fancy words. They just happen to be ones most people recognize. Additionally, asking before things start if characters affect the world seems fair game -- especially since you've pretty much /answered/ that question already.
And since there's no evidence that it /adversely/ affects the IC as of yet, not to mention you didn't comment upon the lack for accepted sheets, I see no benefit in any sort of wager now. It's not like I get lives for being right. All risk, and questionable gain.
She's not wrong...
And I am very doing this, if I can only just get enough real life time to write up an extensive character sheet. Screw average characters with lack of backstory, I'll tempt fate...though I'll be cautious about it, rest assured.
