Seeing the new carriage come down the street, Kael looks at it with some degree of surprise and awe. He had presumed that the carriage they had come in...now plated with silver in the middle of the street...was powered by magic or something, but this vehicle was making noise like it was a mechanical device moving on its own. Astounding! Still, his wonder didn't get in the way of his suspicion. They had just been attacked by a party of unknown origin, with strange powers in a stranger world, and the revelation of the true nature of the world around him had left him feeling somewhat like a cornered rat. As the new vehicle pulled up, Kael drew and nocked an arrow, keeping it down and undrawn...but ready all the same, as he took a few steps away from the carriage and wall to give himself room to maneuver. He had heard what the fellow on the road said, and while his meaning wasn't clear...it was certainly disconcerting enough to justify precautionary measures.
@Bright_Ops,@mdk congratulations are in order. Fortune just saved Luca's life. If Bright_Ops had not posted in time, Luca would have been turned into a lawn ornament.

Also, congratulations to @Doc Doctor, who just - perhaps somewhat inadvertently - discovered the very first clue of the Final Hazard.

Also, time for a vote. @Bright_Ops@Cruallassar@Doc Doctor@Holmishire@mdk@PlatinumSkink@WiseDragonGirl

Shall I continue to reproduce errors en-mass as I have been?

Or, alternatively: Should I just hold every error you make in reserve, and tactically deploy them whenever I personally see fit in order to obfuscate the narrative and create ambiguity where it is most inconvenient? The rule-of-two would still be in effect.

I am going to abstain from this vote, since I've been having little trouble with the reproduced errors thus far.

Kael's eyes open wide as his gaze turns upwards to view the massive convergence of power in the sky, the gravity of his current situation suddenly dawning on him in much more definitive terms. He stares upwards for a moment, before he catches the sudden extrusion and expulsion of spikes from the nearby metal patches. Instinctively he drops to the ground, his Ethereal sight fading as his combat training with Cruallassar kicks in. His bow clacks against the ground as he catches himself with splayed fingers. He holds as such as the spikes fly above and around him, before getting back to his feet when the barrage ends. He looks around carefully, feeling rather vulnerable and exposed as he walks quickly toward a building near the interrogation team, his bow in hand. He stops as he gets a bit close to the man in the coat, taking a few steps back along the wall since he dislikes the smell of the smoke coming from the small burning stick in his hand. Turning towards the others by the dead and wounded and struggling, he quietly observes the proceedings, feeling very disturbed by the presence he knows is watching...
@Cruallassar what arrows did you use to shoot the henchman in the knee? A regular arrow with a carved wooden tip, or an arrow with with an iron tip with hooks on it?

I'm guessing the average arrows with a carved tip, but I want to make sure before attempting to help the man.

Sorry for the late response, I've been off judging a VEX robotics competition.
It is a steel-tipped arrow, but straight, not barbed or hooked or jagged in any way.
...well. Yay. This challenge has now crossed the border from intriguing, interesting, entertaining and challenging for my character, to SERIOUSLY BLOODY SCARY!!!

Fun.
Someone's gonna die...
... I actually just had a nightmare where I had this finely crafted post before me, perfect in every way, yet when I posted it magically turned into an unintelligible mess where every word was missing letters and likely had countless grammatical mistakes as well. Each word also somehow had this red bar under it to emphasize the errors despite that it was posted on the guild which doesn't have that feature. Hah.

Guild has that feature though.

Also, yes. That is a nightmare. That is very much a nightmare.

Also, is that thug being interrogated from 20 yards away?

Kael's attention was drawn away from the trapped girl for a moment by the cry from the front of the carriage, but all things considered, it didn't seem near as concerning as what was going on right here in front of him. In near desperation, he casts his Ethereal Sight magic. His eyes glowed verdant green as he looked over the spreading silver areas, the area near the attackers, and...oh yeah, that lightning rod thing too, and that lightning-emitting orb. Another thing he didn't understand...why would they have placed that there and performed that seemingly meaningless action?
Hmm. Well then, in the interest of saving a life and in lieu of developing events, I think perhaps another post from me would be interesting...

Kael looks with some alarm at the spreading metal on the back of the car, before hearing more bangs from where the attackers were...alive again? No, the bodies are still there...he decides to not waste any time thinking about it as he quickly nocks and draws an arrow. The knight had full plate armor which Kael's arrows weren't likely to penetrate, but he was also the primary threat, and the visor of a knight's helmet was always a critical weak point if you could hit it. Standing at an angle behind the passenger knight, Kael was in a good position for that...and it was a nice short range too. Kael's first arrow flew straight for the slit eye-hole of the attacking knight's visor. He quickly drew another, and two seconds after firing the first, loosed the second shot at the throat of one of the henchmen. It might be nice to have some answers for why this attack was happening, so he sent a third arrow at the third attacker's knee. After all, it wasn't as if that crossbow this one was carrying was loaded...wait, it wasn't loaded? What moron holds up a carriage full of apparently dangerous people with an empty crossbow? Kael's attention was quickly diverted to the spreading pools of silvery metal on the ground, and he noticed the cloaked girl lying on the ground with the stuff spreading over her. On one hand, this place was quickly becoming a very hazardous place to be. On another hand, that girl seemed like she was going to be dead quickly if someone didn't get her away from the stuff. On the other hand, Kael had absolutely no idea how to accomplish that...he didn't have any spells, and if he tried to touch the cloak to get it off her, there was a good chance the metal would spread onto him. Having no good ideas, he just stayed away from all the metal pools for now and hoped someone knew what was going on here better than he did.
