Having made his way to the Keep, cleaning up the mess of bodies on his way and aiding some of the Guardsmen who were doing a rather good job of repelling the incoming soulless husks of earth and stone the Transcendent found himself with a little free time. Having beaten the loud mouth and Reaper by a good ten minutes or so. Of course that didn’t sit well with a second loudmouth who was trying to either get his guard to kill him or order him around. That set well for all but a moment when a second hole was put in the Keep exposing the outside world for a second window placement.

With a place to sit and something to drink, more for cleaning his maw and picking out a few knuckle bones from his teeth, Edward watched as the group started to go through the motions of trying to calm and give advice to the current king of this place. Surely he wasn’t this brain dead because two bags of meat where being taken by the Salamander. If anything Edward through the mad King was overreacting to something that wasn’t going to happen. If Edward’s past had anything to say about it, those two were safe enough because the Salamander wasn’t a killer unless it needed to happen.

It was about this point the Loudmouth and Reaper came in and started talking to the King, of course he was ignoring most of the banter between the Humans and Eathreal.

“Well what are we waiting for then? Chance to get some revenge on that old Salamander, count me as one of the forward team.” He gave a toothy grin. Of course he wasn’t interested in rescuing anyone, he just wanted the chance to get a few cheat shots in on one of the people he rather disliked.
Well this is a message to all you skuz bags and the like. I have been having fun and enjoying this so to you all I wish a happy Holiday/Marry Christmas because I am too lazy to find you all and give gifts. So for the one night on this planet we call earth I welcome ya with all the Southern hospitality I have (which on a normal day isn't much, be lucky) into this house of mine (even if its just a virtual moment and I can't really see ya) and give thanks for the time we spend with each other.

Dirt Bags.

(Disclaimer: for the moments where I am calling you dirt bags and skuz bags its a joke. Marry Christmas.)
Why'll I will laugh I since something else is afoot...will be reading between the lines.
Do you now?
Well instead of a villain in the terms your currently thinking lets stop and look at the world as a whole. Who would want the void to open, What group and or group of people would this give and advantage too?

Remember your would is built right now on one level and that is the area in which we are currently looking at. Right now its the destoryed castle, which Dragon (Salamander hue hue hue) has currently just crushed. Why did he do this, what did he gain from doing this, what will the characters get from aiding/hindering the current threat.

You need to sit down and ask the big 5. Who, what, when, where and why. From there build a plan that leads into a more open world or lined path. At this point you have things locked in with the current attack. No one really knows why the Dragon just came and stole those people, no one knows why the Golems are attacking.

As far as it stands a rather strong summoner or group of them would need to be around for something like this to have happened. If we go off of that we have a who (sort of you could say its a cult), why are they/this person attacking Mid-haven in the day time. What is the goal or what is the group/person gaining from this attack? (Fellow WoW lore nerds would remember this might ring around the Undead Scourge when they made the black scar to Silvermoon in an attempt to get their hands on the sun well while also making a army of undead to aid them)

We know who the Dragon is, but why did he do what he did. What is he gaining from doing this?

As far as the finial enemy, since we can't get to that yet we leave it as a blank for now. So go ahead and work on the big 5. Most of them we already have, its the other parts that need the work to get this 'player motivation' high. Worse case you could always break down and ask people to get an idea of what they feel is right and or what they want to see. PM/Steam/Discord/Skype it out to people to get feed back in private this way they don't feel pressured to answer out right here if they don't want people seeing what they are thinking and or don't feel comfortable saying it in the general public.
Everything looks fine, as stated Communication is key. Much like anything being Transparent about things, anything from Lore to magic to even the basic things can make all the differences. As is always my nitch to say, devil is in the Details. However the level of detail is always subject to the reader so I say this: set a level you like and reach for it. Under shooting is bad but it never hurts to over shoot.

Again general feed back from me is, things are fine so far.

Walking through the desolated city, the old Dragon gave a pitting sigh. Was this really needed, was all this some kind of joke. Sure he was more than welcoming to the chaos that seemed to amass here which more or less made getting food easy. Plenty of bodies around to pick from, of course by the time he stopped all he had in his mouth where the knuckle bones from the last body. Still he felt little remorse, death was part of life and how it ended was of little concern to him.

Looking around he found the guard doing their best to repel the Golems as well as evacuate the living to a safer place. It seemed the Reaper held true, he wasn’t all knowing other wise he would of for seen this outcome. Then again this was the same person who tried to kill him a long time ago.

Lost in the moment Edward was knocked in the back of the head by something rather strong, heavy enough to give him pause. All eyes open the turned around to see what hit him, the sight almost made him laugh at the pitiful sight. A human knight dressed in full, a blade of short extent with a golden trim This must of been one of the Knights of the kingdom or perhaps a soldier with high merit.
“To stand against a monster is a noble feet. Fighting them off to protect those unable to protect themselves is a sign of worth. Yet you strike something that you know not its skill, nor ability yet dauntlessly you strike. For this I will indeed give you merit for the attempt.”

Reaching over the Transcendent made a graps for the blade, only for the own to move it out of reach to strike for the heart. Watching this Edward’s temper started to flare, rather quickly too, as a cold wind started to howl from the north. As the blade stayed true to its target, the own seeing a clean kill for his name in sight only to have it stop jaring the welder in the processes. Looking at this blade as it rest but a hand full of inches from its target the Knight gave pause, for his blade now rested in the hands of the Transcendent.

“And like a fool you press on.”

Throwing the blade to the side Edward grabbed the Knight by the back of the neck lifting him up and close. So close the Knight could feel the breath of the old Dragon creature. “I will be nice, for I do not wish to be put back to sleep so soon. Be thankful this life is spared.” With that he kicked the knight away turned on to the keep.

“Also, do me this one thing. About two blocks back there's a hooded person and a loud mouth currently recovering from some spell. Tell the hooded figure that Edward is moving to the keep. They should get the picture, after all I don’t think they will want me to take a deep breath around them.”

With that Edward marched on, letting not even the ruble stop him as he marched. The Knight turned on its heels in the direction it was told. Moving as fast as his armor would allow, of course this was mainly because some kind of monster just spared him and he felt his life was on the line.

Watching the Salamander waddle away after the wonderful little show Edward shook his head. Another fool to walk a fate that was never really his in the first place, only forced to march a path forged by others. He would of laughed if he didn’t feel sad for the loud mouth. Gritting his teeth the Transcendent walked over to the Reaper and grabbed its shoulder. Anger might of started to get the best of him as he closed all but his third eye.

“You doom another in a adventure of illgain. March then forth on a path that they no longer have control over. Makes me glad I can not truly joint them, however I am still hungry and my temper has been pushed. Seems that old Salamander can spill enrage me quite well.”

Letting the Reaper go he started walking down the broken path to the keep. His maw slightly ajar as a black fog rolled off into a miasma of myst. The soft crimson glow of his third eye guiding him along the path to his pray and goal.

“You are gambling, and the stakes that you play with are more than even you can bare. I am sure you remember the last gamble you made, the lives lost. I remember many things, many more things than I should.” He turned around and gave it the same look he did all those years ago, when he was bigger. “Much like then, we stand on two different sides. Yet, unlike then I find no orders to hunt.”

Turning back around he just caught the sight and sound of the projectile being fired at the old Salamander, yet he cared not if it hit or missed. He needed food and there were plenty of husks around to fill the void along his path to the keep. Marching slowly he made his way, doing his part to clean any bodies he found mainly by devouring them.

Today is going rather well if I do say so myself.
Ia suppose I should get around to writing something up...Lazy man is going to take, a walk.
Da Letter of Destiny.

Or what ever metaphor you wish to insert into that joke.
