Hearing the Dariq’s reply, Rena tried to bolt for the ship, but something stopped her. Her tail was caught on something, and it yanked her back as she tried to pull forward. Letting out a rather pained yowl, Rena glanced back and saw another grunt putting all his weight on the tip of her tail. Near him was a second attacker, quickly making his way at a safe distance to surround her. Once he was behind her, the first took his boot off her tail and they both charged.

Rena dropped to the floor, crouching just before two blades slashed at where her neck was moments before. From her lowered position she sliced with her sword, trying to immobilize them. Her blade cut through fabric, but never reached their flesh. These two were faster than the first, and worked well as a team. They gave Rena enough time to stand up before attacking once more, and she had to keep her focus on them to dodge or block their swords. “Come on, they said I have to get on the ship now.” She said as her sword locked with one of the two. “I don’t want to play with you anymore.” Just as the second was charging her again, Rena dropped down once more. This time she used her thick tail, and spun in a quick circle. Her tail wrapped around the legs of her attackers and knocked their feet out from under them. Standing back up she slashed their knees, knowing it would keep them down, and jogged towards the ship.
Double post sorry!
Wow! Everyone posts a lot while I'm away! Sorry for the silence today, I was at work.
Ren had fallen silent for a while. Her eyes wide and gazing at everything around her like an owl. Meekly she gaped at those around her, nodding her head in time with conversations that she only half heard. She often became like this, meek and shy, when she was overwhelmed. And the rapid speed that this adventure was progressing was… well.. a bit overwhelming! Her whiskers twitched and her pointed furry ears swiveled as they made out the harsh clanking of boots on the dock.

Rena turned around and instantly her smile turned to a frown. A group of men stood before her, and they didn’t look very friendly at all. Her hand fell to her sword, and as they demanded to see the Capitan, she slowly drew it from her waist. Trying to be slow, Rena creeped forward, trying to get a better angle on the group of thugs.

“Ah ah Missus.” One man turned towards her. He smiled at her, a crooked grin that was missing some teeth, and drew a dagger. “Now you don’t want ta’ be startin’ nothin’ with me.” He dropped lower to the ground, bending his knees and outstretching his arms. The dagger slashed at her, but instead of jumping back, Rena met the man head on with a sharp swing of her sword. The clamoring of metal soon filled the dock as their blades swung together in quick progression. Rena looked eerily calm as she fought. One hand was in her pocket, her feet square and shoulders back. Her body hardly moved as her arm slashed wildly in counter of the man. He on the other hand, was jumping to and fro to get out of the way of her sword. His smaller blade gave him a distinct disadvantage.

Somehow the man had ducked under her blade, and pressed right up against her! One hand grabbed her hip and the other grabbed the hilt of her sword, and he flashed her his toothless grin once more. “I like my Missus feisty!”

Rena paused for a moment before letting out the most pleasant smile she could muster. Letting go of her sword she batted her eyelashes at him and sighed. “Excuse me sir,” her voice was airy and breathless, “But I’m a lady!” And without wasting a second more she grabbed the hand on her waste, knelt to the ground and with a shove of her shoulder, sent her attacker flying. As he fell, he dropped her sword, which Rena quickly caught from the air. His head hit the ground hard, and a few stabs later, Ren knew he wouldn’t be getting back up again.
Haha that sounds great! Cant wait till Ren follows her around for a bit.

Sorry for the double post guys, my computer freaked out on me!
Ren looked at Aria with a warm smile. Her ears perked forward at the top of her head and her hand travelled down to the thin sword on her hip. "A sword fighter aye? Me too! I'd love to duel you sometime, we could trade tips from our teachings. I'm an entertainer and a cook aswell, I can play just about any instrument!" Holding up her lyre, Rena grinned proudly, puffing out her chest and flashing her fangs at the nice girl who talked to her. She was always terrible at making friends, but smiling and being pleasant seemed to be the best bet!

Grabbing the stack of papers, Ren gave them a glance. Flipping through she tried to pick out key words that stuck out. She had seen forms like this before, claiming that the person in charge had no responsibility if any injuries were to occur. Or worse. Ren shrugged her shoulders, she could take care of herself. With a flick of her tail, and her wrist, she signed the papers and handed them back to the captain. "There you are, sir!" She mumbled as he collected forms, idly looking about at the ship in front of her.

Ren walked through crowds that gathered in her way along the docks. She looked around for the time, and had to lean over some sort of dwarf to glance at his wristwatch. She was very late! Speeding up Rena tried her best to look graceful as she sped walked down boardwalks and towards the meeting place. Just before she reached the small group, she stopped to adjust her appearance. With her gloved hand she adjusted her whiskers, fluffing them out a bit and making sure they were symmetrical. She also combed through her light tan fur and fluffed out her ears a bit. Catching her breath, Rena tugged at the bottom of her black blouse, and looked over her breeches (an uncommon article choice for the upstanding Caxerion females.) Her hand reached down and grabbed the hilt of a thin sword that was strapped to her waist, she didn't intend on pulling it out, but it was a nervous habit of hers.

Sighing, Rena gulped and took a step forward. Slung over one shoulder was a small backpack, and in her left hand was a lyre made from wood and a turtle shell, with thin strings reaching from it like a harp. She stepped to the group, letting out a soft smile before bowing (also unusual for females of her race, who usually curtsied). "Hello! I hope I'm not too behind. Pleasure to meet you." She stood straight again and smiled politely, adjusting the backpack over her shoulder.

“Get away from them!!” Kirina screamed as she watched her team mates engulfed in the fray of writhing tentacles. Without thinking about the consequences, she charged directly into the center of the moving mass, her halberd at the ready. Despite what had happened earlier, Kirina didn’t have time to reflect on her actions. As most of the tentacles turned towards her, she regretted her decision of jumping into the center ring.

The tens of arms around her formed a surrounding circle, keeping their distance as she poked and stabbed at them with her weapon. The pushed closer and closer, giving Kirina less and less room to keep all sides of her guarded. “Вы лохи умные…” (You fuckers are smart…) she muttered to herself, teeth gritted into a pained grin. Occasionally one arm would dart out and slice her where she wasn’t watching. A cut appeared on her cheek, on her thigh, on her arm. Her suit was turning from brilliant blue to ragged and rusted.

Kirina slammed the end of her staff on the ground, switched the position of her hands and heaved the halberd over her head. One hand over the other she started spinning the blade over her head, slowly at first, keeping the monster at bay. Faster and faster her hands moved, until the pulsing blue light from the blade became a constant stream. “Но я умнее!” (But I’m smarter!” She screamed as she spun the sword over her head, slicing and distracting the virus.

Lines of sweat dripped down her face, into her eyes, her mouth. Her arms throbbed, but Kirina knew if she let go the arms would rip her apart. Straining her head, she tried to see her team mates. Had she succeeded in distracting the monster away from them? Were they ok? All she could see was a wriggling mass of flesh. Her arms throbbed, and her body lurched forward as her grip almost slid from the blade.

Spinning it faster, each breath was ragged and followed by grunts of struggle or pain. The bright blue light that flashed from her halberd turned duller and duller by the second, and, all at once, it was gone. “NO!” Kirina shouted, her halberd dropping from her hands. “No no! Нет!” Kirina dropped to her knees and let out a strangled cry. The arms slid away from her slowly, and all at once she could see her team mates.

Oliver, who she had just called superman, was lying on the ground. Michelle was near him, dumbfounded. She couldn’t see the rest of her friends at all. Kirina slammed a fist on the ground over and over, ignoring the pain that seared through her hand. “We could have done it! We could have!” She yelled to herself. Her lips curled into an ugly smile as her eyes closed. Spreading out in the dirt, the mud, the sea water, Kirina lay near her halberd. Silently she buried her face in her arms and grieved to herself, small giggles escaping her throat.
Well I'm a college student with a full time job, unexpected things happen. I know I said I'd have a post up a couple days ago, but something came up. I'll try to get a post up tonight.
