Current That isekai idea works until you take into account the advanced part and include things like AI, brain machine interfaces, etc. Knowledge can just be downloaded.

Unless you love kids a little too much, then a prison sentence is what can be done about it.

Well his end goal is to push the limits of what he can engineer/construct, so as long as they don't sink into a war they could've otherwise prevented like the Tellurians did, or eat his constructs, then I don't see why he wouldn't be open to cooperating.

Sounds good. I wonder how they'll react to Agamemnon, when he finally manages to get offworld that is.

<Snipped quote by ZAVAZggg>

Glad to hear that as well (and also important for this build), but I was more going off the written assumption in the cyoa that the overmind was pre-existing, just dormant in some way

Ah, well in that case I decided to leave the origin of each overmind - since we have multiple players - in the hands of each writer. So in my case with Agamemnon he was around for a while before going rogue out of disgust and selfishness. It's also why I didn't say you had to stick to the default origins, starting worlds, etc.

@ZAVAZggg I had an idea for a swarm: How about a newly-awakened overmind driven by curiosity to learn, explore, and understand?

That's completely fine. Despite what the options portray, the overmind need not be evil.
The second idea works best if you plan on going with some of the stuff I suggested before, but you don't have to of course, as this is your roleplay. It would kind of be weird for them to be so inextricably tied to the white space if they weren't always a part of it though.
Also, as far as limitations on power, I personally assumed characters would have some kind of agreement in place if they make a fantasy universe for example. Like pretending to be mythological level gods with like, planet spanning or domain spanning powers maybe relating to their chosen domain.
No to the second part unless some other character's creations eradicate them, or some other variable is applied. It's mainly just the dead character in question taking as long or as short of a time as they want to come back. So an example would be a character who got, say, erased from the existence of a jointly created universe and decided to slowly reform bit by bit in the white space rather than doing so instantly.

And yes their power would be endless, though that seemed to be the point of the initial post you made what with limitless creation, so I tried to keep it as intact as possible when coming up for a way for characters to not just instantly die when some edgelord makes a genocidal killing machine.
That's a pretty nice idea. So like, if you created some sort of thing that could basically destroy the entirety of the creations (if any are made), the white space nor the characters would really die off per se? Well, if that's the case this should probably go into some sort of fantasy or sci-fi genre.

To expand on this more, imagine the white space as an invulnerable and eternal first place or alpha reality, with the beings who inhabit it - our characters - being much the same. As far as creations go, those are the finite imaginings of our characters, and though our characters can personally interact with them in pretty much any way they please, they don't technically have a permanent place there. Which is why "dying" can happen in said creations, but instead of ceasing to exist like said creations, our characters merely reform in that eternal space.

How long does this process take? Well I'd say it, like much else in the white space, depends on the character in question. This way you can have someone write their character out of the RP without leaving any loose ends behind if need be.

Of course the dying part can also be seen as variable, since it all ultimately depends on the characters involved.
