There are other Half-Breeds in the group? Shit, my gimmick is ruined!

Logan is the half-breed. xD

@Imperfectionist: are you a competitive player or a collaborative one? By which I mean, when it comes to a duel that I'm anticipating will happen at some point between Johann and Emma, will you be trying to get Emma to win through posting better combat than I can or would it be your preference to pre-arrange the outcome of the battle so as best to suit the plot and yield the most interesting character development?
Imperfectionist said Belasco, well, it kind of depends on how he treats her (and some of the other Hogwarts girls, like Amelia and Lydia... esp. Amelia). If he's just an instant bag of dicks, there's no way she'll be able to like him, but if he seems to just be, um, driven, they'll be more likely to connect. In any case, she'll definitely love having a duelist that's likely to beat her in the group. ;) Gives her something to look forward to later on.

Sounds like there's a possibility to make a connection, then. :)
Johann isn't a bag of dicks, just a bit of a bigot. While he's going to accidentally patronise the womanfolk and be a bit twitchy about the half-breeds and muggle-borns that seem to constitute the other males in the group, he probably won't be outright rude, and he'll happily change his mind if/when any of them prove themselves to him. If anything, all a woman has to do to get him to like her is to not act like a squealing girly bundle of hormones and he'll be incredibly (if patronisingly) impressed.

You have two more credits for James. It can be anything. As for Johann, you are -98? or two more credits. As for inventory, I don't want God modding, so a debatable limit should be set.

Where should we go?
I was actually considering on changing the connection between the students. Every school they derive from has a charity for a study abroad world trip. One student (Lydia) will have the map and they must all meet . From there they can choose to stay together or break up, etc.

I might give Johann some non-verbal magic, then. I certainly don't want to give James too much because weaker characters are far more interesting to play. I have no idea, though, what equipment James is likely to keep with him. Rest assured that he won't have anything too exciting, though.

I think the system by which the gang gets together currently works pretty well. Johann would be a later addition, but ultimately all the students would know one another from school anyway. Perhaps the Charity Burbage Foundation sponsors the journey itself and not the students, so they have a communal pool of money rather than 3000 galleons each (which seems like a lot anyway!) and maybe there should be an understanding that they are a group and a gentlemen's agreement that they should stick together? I think the more drive they have as a group, the more stressful and dramatic and interesting it'll be when the shit inevitably hits the fan.

Imperfectionist: I have a sneaky feeling Johann and Emma are either going to get on like a house on fire or, more likely, violently hate one another (at least to begin with). Apart from anything else, they'll likely be the best duellists by a long shot and I'll be surprised if they don't end up testing each other out. Seems like Emma has the more pragmaticky, creative magic, which Johann just has a ridiculous tonne of raw power and no fear of using the dark arts. Long-term, I think Emma presents an opportunity for Johann to become a bit less closed-minded but, in the meantime, we all have a hulking dickwad to look forward to. :P
I've given Johann a little tweaklet: he's never been to the UK and will arrange to meet the group when they arrive on the continent as an additional member.

Johann has joined the brawl.

In other news, I'm thinking of making a second character if that's alright. He's not quite finished; I'll finish up tomorrow. Hopefully it's pretty clear that I intend to corrupt this little darling as far as he will go, a little bit further, and reduce him to a dark-arts-toting psycho or a gibbering wreck by the time the RP's through.

Edit: I'm going to rework James.

I have a proposition.Instead of everyone walking into the Three Broomsticks like all the other times, let's go ahead and set up the start of the game in Germany, or France, somewhere a few steps ahead on the itinerary. We can assume that all of the PCs have met by then, and are now generally acquainted with each other, and the game on an interesting note.

I always think this works a lot better, as a general rule for RPing, than the 'everybody is a stranger' path.
But clearly I haven't been involved in the previous games and perhaps there's stuff I don't know.

In other news, Johann's history is still subject to change. The actual getting involved in the plot seems a bit clumsy for my liking.

Could you please upload a coded version of the sheet, btw? There's an aaaaawful lot of fields and I'd really rather not have to type them up manually if I could just C&P them instead.

*lazy lazy*

Edit:

Just clicked the raw button and found it myself.
I could get in on this and, as a bit of an HP geek, I like how much detail goes into the sheets and the general respect for the lore. That said, I imagine others might find it a turn-off.
Thinking about a Durmstrang student with a slant toward brute force and a prospective career in his nation (haven't decided yet) 's slightly more heavy-handed equivalent of the UK's aurors.
Realised I still hadn't taken Sebastian to the ball, and his fairy godmother was giving me evils so I gave him a prod. Thrown a few little things in; mostly affects JJ Doe - feel free to use Sebastian as a means to justify Pazel's unusual relationship with the witching community, and, equally, feel free to have him be involved in whatever Beauregard is plotting - if Beauregard is after an unscrupulous asshole to plot with, Sebastian's a pretty good bet. Hopefully it was okay to give Beauregard that little cameo. I know it's probably technically godmodding but hopefully I was roundabouty enough to get away with it? Give me a shout if you want me to edit/delete/apologise/sacrifice a goat to our great lord Babylios'chuaschuagha.

Other stuff: there's almost certainly something fun to be done with bewitched students, so go crazy. I'm guessing most of the students at the university will recognise some of the new serving staff/band members, probably even more so than Sebastian. It also gives Hunters some collateral damage/hostage risk/people to rescue, so you guys can go wild, too.

Adjectives, any time you want to drop the Matthew-bomb into Sebastian's world, go for it. I'm sure there's something to be done with Graham and Katerina to get you guys in on some action, too :) (I'm just not sure what it is)
