Character sheets are necessary for GMs to make sure you have an idea of what you're doing and aren't going to pull random nonsense. Also necessary for guaging power scale.

Kenshiro Hyuuga
Location: Academy Classroom
Company: Burai, Shiori
Injuries: None
Chakra: 100%

The first lunch with his teammates had gone well for the most part. Shiori was far more well-mannered than he'd expected, and Ken's mother appeared to either not know or care about the rivalry between the Hyuuga and Burai's clan. It made sense for her to not notice, or care, as she clearly had the Hyuuga name through marriage, and not by blood. The gyoza snacks she'd prepared were both delicious and surprisingly filling, even if less 'proper' than what would often be found in a Hyuuga home. Rather, that seemed to extend to the rest of the atmosphere in Kenshiro's abode. Pleasant, clean, polite, but lacking in the usual stuffiness the main branch households would often coat themselves in. Despite the single incident with Burai pretending to summon the Oni upon the household when Ken's mother was in another room, things had gone incredibly smoothly. Almost too much so. Shiori in particular put on the nicest face he'd ever seen her do, the girl acting rather flawless. If it were someone else, he'd wonder which 'face' was meant real, if the one who enjoyed the web of school politics was just for gaining popularity. If it were someone else. Ken could tell which of the girls was the imposter.

A week later, Kenshiro was in the town square for the meeting between the team and their jounin instructor. Admittedly he was rather nervous about the future. Burai only had one issue in their cooperation, which likely already had been solved. But the thought of being on a team with Shiori for an extended time filled Kenshiro with dread. How would be able to work with her when he could only trust her to be just as likely to stab him in the leg as the enemy if it was to her advantage. Luckily it would only be for a year. After the chunnin exams he would be free. Still, it would be a year of constantly looking over his own shoulder, and keeping her within sight.

The anger quickly faded, not so much by being soothed, but sufficiently distracted with so much happening at once. With the soft tug on his sleeve, he looked over wondering what possibly could be happening next, and it was that girl he'd landed on earlier. With widened eyes, he thought for sure she was going to be angry at him for earlier, yet instead she apologized and asked him how he was doing. "Um... I'm uninjured. Teammates... You're Ami Uzumaki?" With a glance down her outfit, and at her demeanor, Rashiku partly wondered if she was really a shinobi. She seemed very different than the others. Shinobi graduates had, at least partially, a predatory nature honed into them. She seemed to lack it almost entirely, and he didn't see much equipment on her in the obvious places. Perhaps there was a mesh armor weave layer within her dress for protection.

Sensing movement from the direction of the man challenging him, Rashiku instinctively put one hand on his sword, ready to draw it, while the rest of his body got ready to move into a battle stance. With Ami still on his arm it looked as if he was guarding her, his arm going back slightly over her midsection. But it wasn't Tenshi who had moved, instead another man had flashed between them, angrily questioning the man from Kumogakure. This new arrival introduced himself as Rashiku and Ami's Jounin instructor, presenting gifts... Ducks? Rashiku reached to take them, his movements unsure as he kept an eye on the adults.

Tenshi had approved of Rashiku's response, and yet the tension didn't ease at all. The man was still looking for a challenge, pushing it onto Takayuki instead. Rashiku at first moved to interrupt, as he could simply just tell Taka what he'd overheard about Tenshi being the Raikage's son. But instead, he let it be for the moment. Despite not knowing why, it was clear that Tenshi was looking for a fight. He'd known how it would feel to have the use of his weapons questioned, yet that's the exact tactic he used to get under Rashiku's skin. If the ambassador of an alliance wanted a fight with a jounin so badly, it was probably better to just let him take the thrashing...

"Rashiku-chan! Ami-chan! You made it", called over a strange pink-haired boy in a flowing floral white and cherry blossom kimono, "We were just about to order you some lunch! It's so pleasant a summer afternoon, don't you think?"

The boy motioned over to himself and two other genin, a short and overweight boy who nodded while slurping on noodles and a small girl in a navy jacket who peered at Rashiku with inquisitive and cautious eyes.

"H-eh...?" Rashiku quietly let out to himself seeing the other person calling to them. It was just one thing after another, a nonstop barrage of being pulled this way and pushed towards that. And somehow the... boy? Girl? ... Boy.... Probably... Knew both of his name and that of the girl beside him. He didn't recognize any of them, and it was becoming clear that he'd failed to gather much vital information for living in this village. People in this place knew each other much more closely than in Kirigakure. 'Discreetly' grabbing onto his Teriyaki bowl that had been sitting on the counter, he pulled it close and made his way over to the others. What they wanted wasn't clear, but it was certainly a good opportunity to escape the explosive scenario on the other side of the small ramen hut. "The leaves do... have a pleasant scent." The boy let out, trying to continue the conversation and not be too out of place.

"Oh! A man of few words, but well chosen ones", said the pink-headed one, "the turning leaves bring the smell of the trees from miles around... A summer afternoon is like a little adventure, isn't it?"

After brushing the pink locks luxuriously out of the way, an intense look appeared across that soft face, "Summer is the time of love and growth", and then came a sigh as those pink eyes looked out into the sky, "before the fall... But summer love is most intense, don't you agree?"

Rashiku recoiled slightly from the other boy's comments, a faint hue of red flashing to his cheeks. His hands raised a small bit, like if in a guard stance against the incoming blow of such a discussion. "I've not participated!" The defense was particularly stronger by accident, having just a bit prior been accused of engaging in the worst kind of activity one could do in that category.

"...sorry about this...", said the one who was definitely a girl. She turned away from Rashiku as she said it and looked into her untouched bowl of ramen, which looked to be getting a little cold. The short heavier one finished slurping up a mass of noodles and also greeted Rashiku, "Hey! You're Rashiku! I saw you at practice! You're real good with a sword", and he gave a thumbs up and a wide grin, "I'm Chotzu! We didn't talk a lot, so you probably don't know my name, but the way you came into schooll! Bam! Huzzah! Whack! Real cool! You really know your stuff!"

Chotzu made Rashiku wonder what he'd actually done to make the impressions he had. Many of them seemed just to be mistakes, such as not knowing at first that training with other students involved the use of practice weapons rather than real ones. Drawing his blade at that time had garnered nasty looks of multiple ranges. At least this other boy didn't seem as scared. "Correct, I didn't know you." For a second Rashiku had just said that, but it felt like what he said could easily be taken a way he didn't intend. Quickly continuing, he managed to speak again before his previous statement would stick out too much. "I do now. Thank you." Looking at the seats, there was a shortage. Just one. Not enough for both him and the girl who'd gone with him. "I'll return shortly... Here." Reaching out he handed Ami one of the carved ducks from their jounin earlier, before he temporarily returned to his old seat just long enough to pick it up and bring it over to the other group, which would allow Ami room to sit down as well.

Kuroki wasn't entirely correct about only the waitress knowing the Cloud Shinobi's identity. Even if Rashiku hadn't been paying attention, the two weren't exactly being quiet or inconspicuous. The boy took an extra glance before his teriyaki rice bowl was placed infront of him, checking more clearly what the Raikage's son looked like. As a genin it was unlikely to matter to him, but it was better to know than to not. Knowing what Tenshi looked like and that there was talk of an alliance was good enough to Rashiku for that moment, and he'd planned on simply enjoying his meal from then onward. But...

At some point in the early morning Rashiku must have blacked out, and in this state that could not be remembered, gone right into the middle of the market square. Then he probably proceeded to dropkick a puppy over a building in the most public viewing location possible. This was the only thing that would explain why seemingly everyone in the village was out to ruin his day. It had to be revenge. Even the Cloud was in on it! At first, the boy barely even acknowledged what Tenshi had said to him, his eyes widening with a stressed disbelief that any hostility at this point was happening at all. But after a few seconds of the initial shock, the words still ringing in the air formed more clearly and clicked, and the Raikage's Ambassador succeeded in earning a furious glare from the fresh genin. "Hiou Kuroki. That is the classmate who I killed with this weapon. DO NOT dishonor him by claiming I did not know my intentions!" What the boy said may not have made much sense with the comment that had been directed towards him, but he still seemed adamant on his stance, with Tenshi having clearly earned his ire.

Burai definitely seemed to be more cooperative than Shiori, at least for the moment. Kenshiro gladly shook the boy's hand, with a grip that was stronger than how dainty he may have seemed at times. "Nothing too spicy I hope. Can't be the subject of gossip without being at least a bit curious." He joked around with the other lad for a moment, relaxing his shoulders and getting to be more calm. One piece of the team seemed to be going smoothly at least. But then the poison began to seep in just as quickly, with Yuzumi belittling himself and Burai, and Shiori stating that she'd be in charge upon threat of cannibalism. The boy sighed with disappointment, both from Yuzumi not returning the respect he'd given her, and having to deal with what Shiori was trying. While Kenshiro didn't really care about being in charge, and actually preferred taking orders, following the plans of a Spiga sounded like suicide with only a couple of extra steps. "It'll be the Jounin who's in charge of us." He'd stated firmly, making his position clear, but also not showing hostility.

Kenshiro gave the other two girls a wave as they left, mostly to the girl who showed a bit of courtesy. Yuzumi having lost his good will. Already things were seeming aimless with just the three of them, but fortunately Shiori gave a suggestion that wasn't too terrible, at least for the moment. "Lunch would be good. How about I take us to my home? Get some lunch there and you could see my folks." Kenshiro hoped they would agree. It would be helpful if his parents could also take stock of his teammates and possibly give him advice on how to get along with them best. Particularly Shiori. She was the more worrisome one of the two.

These leaf nin weren't right in the head! Any time he'd do anything Rashiku was always getting accused of some sort of heinous act. Believing that he wanted to murder everyone in sight wasn't enough it seemed, now they thought he was a degenerate on top of all of that! It really was a mystery as to what he'd done to earn such ire. Despite his bad rapport with most of the other students, maybe Misaki would be different. Rashiku looked back to her, hoping that she could clear the air and tell what really happened... 'Oh... She's angry...' All hope for things to end reasonably washed away in a flash of lightning as Misaki kicked him into the air. Everything was white for a moment, Rashiku possibly having lost consciousness, but when things cleared up, he was laying a few inches off of the ground.

Vision blurry, Rashiku wondered if he might have been seriously injured or even killed, with how soft the ground felt below him. There wasn't a wet and cold feeling of mud, if anything the softness was... warm. He tried to move, successful, so he wasn't dead, but as he turned to look where he landed, death might have been slightly preferable. As if by conspiracy to make him look like the worst degenerate in the village, he'd landed right on top of a small blonde girl, his hands on her shoulders pushing her down against the ground. This girl's friend staring at them, and Misaki yelling something about i-impregnation, this was a disaster! 'What is happening?!' There was no fixing this situation, the best option being to just... leave. Gently as he could, he pushed himself up off of the blonde girl's shoulders. "Sorry..." With an awkward shuffle of his legs he moved off of her and walked away from the others, not even looking at them, especially not Misaki.

For a little while Rashiku wandered somewhat aimlessly, at first going towards his single room apartment, but then going past. Going inside there would just sour the day and evening. It'd be better to find something to rinse out the beginning of the morning. Before long Rashiku had made his way to the market district, stopping into a small but known ramen shop, waiting to get an order after the louder guests. At first they wouldn't be of any interest, but the boy overheard the loud one talk about official business for the village. Rashiku's gaze went over to them, seeing if there were any clues. None were overtly obvious, but the man with the Bakuto's garb looked familiar and not unlike the Karata's armor. The Karata clan had studied some techniques of the Cloud Village Shinobi, along with the Samurai, as they used more arts dedicated to outright battle over stealth. Karata had incorporated some of these, developing them in their own direction. Symbols on the man's outfit confirmed it, that he was definitely from Kumogakure. He didn't want to bring attention to himself, but the curiosity was too strong for Rashiku to not keep his ears open, trying to gather what was happening with a cloud village member being within the leaf's walls.

“So. Where is Kenshiro?”

It turned out that the third team member of Burai and Shiori's squad was in the restroom in front of the sink and mirror, wiping out the last remnants of soda that had splashed his clothes. During Jin's uproar the student beside Kenshiro had dropped his drink, spilling it all over Ken. While it was certainly a mess, and by now with the cleaning Kenshiro had practically given himself a second shower in the sink, he was only annoyed with the other student at worst. It had only been an accident after all. The trouble was more in the effort to fix the orange stains and stickiness, rather than any bitterness or hard feelings. Wiping himself down with a couple more paper towels, and mostly dry, he was ready to reenter the classroom and see if his teammates were still present.

So, right after Shiori asked her question, Kenshiro entered the room as if to answer. His hair and spots of his outfit damp, but would likely dry fully within half of an hour. With a brief look around the room, he spotted the group of students at the table and promptly approached. A genuine, respectful smile was given to the main-branch Hyuuga girl among them, with a brief small bow just for her, before Kenshiro looked to his new teammates. "Greetings everyone. Burai-san, Shiori-san, it looks like we are to be a team for the foreseeable future. I look forward to working with you both." The new graduate wasn't lying, but there were a few things that concerned him. Burai's clan and his own were not on good terms. Possibly due to that, he remembered that he'd never taken the time to get to know Burai at all. Kenshiro didn't really care about some political feud, but he hoped that Burai wouldn't harbor some sort of clan grudge against him. Dealing with that would be a pain in the ass. And then there was the Spiga girl. A much more sinister case in her entirety. Being wary of her clan was more than a matter of politics and feuds. The Spiga were dangerous and insane. Shiori in particular seemed to be able to control herself better than the rumors about her clan would indicate, but Kenshiro hadn't let her maneuvering and climbing of the student popularity web go unnoticed. He'd kept quiet, but he'd also kept note. That girl was dangerous venom.

Kenshiro just hoped that he'd be able to make allies of his new team. Or at the very least, positive neutral relations to them. Hopefully there wouldn't be too much trouble for him to have to deal with.

Kenshiro let his shoulders down at his fellow Jounin's positive energy, turning his expression towards a light smirk instead of the serious scowl he'd been sporting. He had to remember to keep up the morale for his students. Preparing them for for the worst case scenario was of course necessary, but frightening them wasn't the way to go either. Ken nodded at Taka's suggestion for making sure that the student-only group be self-sufficient, and he already had an easy solution to that. How to group everyone up together to make this go smoothly. "Of course. Hoshiro! You're up. Miho, Rashiku, and Ami are going with you to Daikon. Secure the area for us. Hopefully you won't run into trouble, but if you do, lead your juniors to victory. Chokuro, Kuro Kuro, and Kushina. You three are with me. I'm sure we'll work well together. Kimi, Shizuka, you two can keep up with Takahashi-san yes?" Juzo was almost assigned to go along with Takahashi as well, since the kid had plenty of speed. But there was another gap unfilled that hadn't been discussed. "Juzo-san, I want you to meet up with our scouts and protect them if needed. They are fantastic at their job, but are far less trained in general combat. That's everyone's assignments, move out. And like Taka-sensei said... Kick some ass."

While certainly not lazy, Kenshiro generally goes through life with a calm and relaxed demeanor. Life flows like water and wind and he's content to go along with it. He is quite easy going and enjoys taking plenty of time off when he isn't otherwise occupied. His relaxed outlook makes him quite easy to get along with, and he makes friends with others without much difficulty. In a dangerous situation he does get a lot more serious than normal, but he still is usually calm.

It can seem like Kenshiro lacks ambition and determination, but that isn't entirely correct. He knows that his standing in the Hyuuga clan will never be high up, so isn't concerned with trying to change that. His efforts are instead focused on improving his skills as a shinobi, to make himself a suitable tool for his clan.

Some people are destined for greatness. Those whose names will go down in history, or whispered throughout the heavens. Great men and women who change the flow of the world itself. Kenshiro has known his whole life, that he would not be one of them. As a branch member of the Hyuuga clan, his fate was simple in that he would live, serve his clan, and probably die at some point doing that. Many others in the branch section resented this, being little more than servants to the main, but Kenshiro didn't mind it as much. It was certainly a crap system, and he didn't necessarily like having to take orders, but it really wasn't that terrible. Any orders he'd been given so far had been reasonable (mostly cleaning), and the Hyuuga were still very much respected all throughout the village. Money was rarely an issue, life was comfortable, and Kenshiro knew it.

Knowing one's station in life can provide a lot of comfort and remove much uncertainty. Kenshiro worked to fulfill his role as a branch member of the Hyuuga and as a shinobi of Konohagakure. He found that while he wasn't the most powerful among his peers, he had his own talents, and leaned into them quite well. Strategy and trickery were far more effective for him than hoping to batter the challenges down with force. Along with a few other natural talents with chakra, these all led to Kenshiro graduating the Ninja Academy with decently high marks.

Byakugan - A powerful dojutsu that allows the user to have perfect vision in a nearly 360 degree bubble around them in a certain radius. Along with this, they can see chakra with it active with such accuracy as to allow them to see an opponents chakra tenketsu points and attack them. Kenshiro's radius range of 360 vision is about 10 meters.

Competent Swordsmanship - Kenshiro has learned to use a sword with a reasonable amount of proficiency, but isn't in the same league as a specialist. His amount of skill is more used for defense, and to hide his real specializations.

Tenketsu Expelling - Even for a member of the Hyuuga, Kenshiro has a natural ability to expel his own chakra much more easily than others of his clan would. And in a limited capacity and range, he can still control it to a small extent. Normally the latter ability serves no purpose, but he has found that if he can contain it all within water, he can manipulate it for a very short time. Of course, expelling his own chakra uses it very quickly.

Chakra Control - He is more proficient with chakra control than most of his peers.

Tactics and Strategy - Kenshiro has a lot of talent for strategy in general, and can often come up with an idea to get himself or teammates out of a bind.

Manners and Etiquette - He is still very much a Hyuuga.

Waterskin - A large container of water to assist with water-based techniques.

Short Katana - A Katana that is short enough to easily be wielded with a single hand, but long enough that two-handing is still a valid stance.

Colored Contacts - Kenshiro has a pair of contacts that, while doing nothing to affect his vision, disguises the color of his eyes to hide his Byakugan when beneficial.

✖ ‖ F i g h t i n g S t y l e
Kenshiro fights with a combination of Gentle Fist interfused with water jutsu. He both uses traditional ranged water jutsu, and his own variations that he can use along with his gentle fist techniques, such as whips made of the water.

While decent in a straight up fight, Kenshiro is more comfortable when he has clear advantages. He tries to get the drop on his opponents the best he can with strategy and misdirection. Often he will fight with weapons such as swords and kunai to give a false idea of his techniques. Getting into a blade lock with an opponent only to then strike them with Gentle Fist techniques or his Chakra Drill.
