Character sheets are necessary for GMs to make sure you have an idea of what you're doing and aren't going to pull random nonsense. Also necessary for guaging power scale.

Every night of my life
I watch angels fall from the sky
Every time that the sun still sets
I pray they don't take mine
I'm on the front line
Don't worry I'll be fine
The story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
So long to my regret
And now I know that I'm alive

A few more glances between the hallway and his instructor was all it took before Rashiku had gathered what had happened. Takayuki had set all those traps in the hall as a test for the students that were coming. With how many he'd set off, Rashiku felt like he was already off to a bad start. He noticed the slight shift in the light from the hallway as the door moved again, showing Ami in the hallway. She had an advantage of many of the traps having been disarmed, and the evidence of them being there was more than obvious with the hall littered with shuriken, kunai, and other pieces of wood. It went well with her avoiding setting off any more, right up until the end where she was forced to make a leap across the room to dodge underneath the table. Even Rashiku had to move a bit out of the way with the further projectiles being launched partially into the living room!

After things deescalated their instructor introduced Kiyoshi's replacement. A Senju... Rashiku had certainly heard of the clan name, but when he tried to remember their specialties he drew a blank. They had advanced jutsu of some kind, but he couldn't remember which. He supposed that as a teammate, he'd find out eventually. With everyone seated Mekakushi-sensei gave them their instructions... Which seemed to be gaining information on each other. It made sense, but the things he listed that were going to be needed caused Rashiku's shoulders to tense. The examples were even worse. With the pleasant memory making the boy's face tighten in embarrassment from the bluntness, and the unpleasant memory causing his hands to ball into fists under the table. If that was the criteria for the answer, there was only one event that qualified, and Rashiku could feel his throat tighten, making it increasingly difficult to speak.

It was a partial relief that Akira was first, with his being an easy introduction. His boastful claims at becoming stronger than his village founders were rather annoying though. Becoming that strong as a goal itself wasn't a bad thing, but making such statements seemed insulting to those that he wanted to surpass. Rashiku's eyes were narrowed for the briefest moment, but the boy didn't dwell on it. Especially when Akira had answered which advanced nature it was that the Senju had. Wood Release, that was it.
And then, it was Rashiku's turn. Taka-Sensei had turned his head along the line of his students, from Akira, to Rashiku. For a moment the room was silent as Rashiku didn't answer, staring ahead at his instructor, and around the room. His gaze glancing towards his fellow genin as well. Finally, words started to form as he spoke in, at first, short answers.

"I am Rashiku Karata. I am twelve. I was born in the Mist Village. I like drawing, and I dislike vinegar..." A break formed after he answered all but the final two questions. Ten seconds passed by, then longer, as if he was going to refuse to answer the harder piece, but finally it came forth. "My favorite day was when my father helped me choose my weapon. We found my sword with two blades well-suited to me, I could handle its weight and wide surface area. And... Five months ago the Mist Village attacked my clan and family. They killed everyone, and my father was torn to pieces by explosive tags. I... escaped through the hole in the wall he made with his body. That is why I am here in the Leaf."

We watch with wounded eyes
So I hope you recognize
I'm on the front line
Don't worry I'll be fine

So long to the regret
And now I see the world through diamond eyes

More stretches was a good idea. If the three of them were going to be carrying water buckets filled near to the brim, it wasn't good to have the muscles not ready. As embarrassing as it was, it was best to follow his teammates and his teacher as they got more limber. He stepped back away from the buckets towards his team and started with more movements just in time for them to give their answers to their instructor's question. Shiori sweetly, innocently said exactly what an instructor would want to hear. The kind of answer you would put on a written test to gain extra points and hope it pushes you into that desired A score. 'BULLSHIT!' Screamed through Ken's mind as he stared at Shiori. He was almost shocked by her blatant lie of an answer, and was taken aback enough to be stopped in the middle of his bended-knee stretch as he looked at her. His eyes narrowed as he focused on her, full of suspicion and rising anger. He started to wonder if her hiding her motivations were the Spiga hiding something nefarious. Were they plotting something? Various thoughts ran through his head in a flash, before suddenly they were all wiped away with the girl doing another stretch right in front of his kneeling down position. It was good that the boy had covered his face with the mask, as his cheeks flushed a bright pink and his eyes went wide as he stared for a couple of seconds longer than he meant to.

Kenshiro stood still after he got up from his stretch for a few seconds, holding his hand underneath one of his nostrils, unsure if he was going to have an issue. Fortunately he had himself under control just in time for Burai to start with his own turn for his answer. At first Kenshiro rolled his eyes with the opening of Burai's speech, thinking of it along the same vein as Shiori's answer. However, the more Burai spoke, Ken realized how legitimate every word that came from him was. He turned from his initial scoff to listening to every bit, with a small smile. "Words to put 'the magnificent crab' to shame Burai-san!" Ken let out, jokingly picking on his teammate for a second, but is tone become much more sincere as he followed it with a simple, "I wish you luck."

It finally was time to get moving. With a preparatory sigh, he picked up the buckets of water and balanced the weight. They were heavy, but more of an annoyance than truly difficult. Ken was eager to get to the training ground and be rid of them so he moved with a brisk pace. He wasn't running, but jogging at a steady rate. The style of his Gentle Fist gave him great manual dexterity with his arms especially, and he was able to keep the buckets level through nearly the whole trip. That suddenly changed however, right near the end of the run, when out of an alleyway a grouping of wooden shuriken came flying right towards him! "Look out!" A little boy shouted as Kenshiro lifted his knee up to let the training weapons pass by underneath and bounce off the street and into the stall of a frightened fruit merchant. The sudden lurch to get out of the way made Shiori's bucket jolt back and forth, sending a small wave of water flying out to the air infront of him. Reacting in a desperate attempt to get the water back in the bucket, his hand extended out, his thumb the only finger holding the bucket, as he sent out his chakra into the gripping of water still in the air. The air around the water shimmered and the water itself rippled as it collected together into his palm before dropping down into the bucket blow.

Truthfully, he wasn't sure if his save had counted. He had spilled some, even if none landed on the ground. With another sigh he turned back towards Kuree and asked her. "So... We don't have to go back do we?" Kuree had stopped with them, looking down at the ground from her 6 foot high second story view and said "Hmm... i don't see any water on the ground, good move Kenshiro! I expect to see some more innovation out of the rest of you! So lets pick up the pace a little!" Giving her innovative student a thumbs up before she tried to put some motivational fire under their feet as she kept moving. Kenshiro's face sank as she talked about picking up the pace. He was done going fast. So close to the goal, it was time to play it safe and just walk. That's what he had planned to do, but alas "The Mountain" had other ideas. The group of children in the alleyway waved apologetically, the shuriken thrower having his hand scratching behind his head with the biggest 'I'm guilty' smile with a number of missing first teeth. Kenshiro shook his head and regathered his focus, before continuing to jog once more, and going just a bit faster than before. Not much, but not so slow where he was likely to get Kuree to notice and crack the whip on him. It wasn't long before they reached the training grounds themselves, and with relief Ken carefully put the buckets down, making sure to not spill any just in case that was an ever-present condition.
With a clarification to the chakra leaking palm move, Koji has been cleared for use :3

Koji seems to be a hard, stubborn man. Uncompromising and tough. While he doesn't sling insults, he is a difficult drill sergeant who accepts nothing less than perfection. Those under his training will practice until they get it right. This is not to simply complete their missions however, nor any desire for secondhand glory or gaining high marks. Koji has one goal in mind, and that is for his students, soldiers, and companions to survive whatever comes their way. He has seen too much needless death already, and he desires to minimize that as much as he possibly can.

His aversion to needless death goes as far as to apply to his enemies as well, if it can be afforded. Koji would never hesitate to kill an enemy if sparing them posed any risk or danger to his own soldiers. The lives of his allies comes first. Someone who later is sure to be a threat to them if allowed to live is not one who gets mercy. However, if an enemy can be taken out non-lethally without risk, Koji will opt to do so. An unaware shinobi guard that can be safely taken into a chokehold is likely to be spared, while another charging his genin with a sword will get four kunai hurled into his cranium.

When appropriate, he isn't always a hardass. Off mission and not during training, he can be calm and softer, even if still a bit gruff. He cracks dry jokes often, accompanied with sips of strong sake.

When Koji was a genin, he struggled quite a bit with Chakra Control. Ninjutsu was difficult to pull off, and even when he was successful, it used up more chakra than necessary. Fortunately he found that he was quite talented with throwing shuriken and kunai, and focused on that to find his niche. Kunai ended up being far more versatile and deadly than shuriken, so while the latter weren't abandoned, Koji practiced with his chosen throwing instruments almost exclusively for a long time. He only switched from this path of the kunai when he found that it simply wasn't enough during his first chunin exam.

During the team eliminations, his partners were defeated quickly, and on his own he found just how much he relied on them for his own skills to succeed. Their jutsu, and their teamwork. He fell soon after, and he realized that he needed more than just the ability to throw his kunai. More skills to back it up. It took a lot of effort and training, but slowly he overcame his difficulties with chakra control and ninjutsu. Much of the lessons coming from his family's affinity towards sealing techniques. The ninjutsu he learned even helped develop his techniques with his favored kunai, smooth earth mounds assisting in bouncing them and shadow clones turning to cloning the weapons themselves. By the next year, Koji was ready for exams again.

The exams never happened.
Instead, there was war. Koji was drafted along with all his fellows into the great shinobi war, where he fought and killed again and again. Day after day ended with him covered in blood, either his own, an enemy's, or his comrades. The longer it went on, the more disheartened Koji became with the fighting. It seemed meaningless after a while. Not so much what they were fighting for, but the fights themselves. The breaking point was when he was part of a large operation to take what was said to be a key area. Multiple feudal castles that would serve as bases of operation to move forward on the offensive. The operation was successful, but hard fought with most of the platoon not making it back. And yet, it amounted to nothing. Shortly after the mission, plans suddenly changed. The offense strategy was abandoned in favor of defense due to the shifting tides of war, and the taken castles left to be reclaimed by the land of lightning. The battle had been pointless, and Koji's fellow soldiers died for nothing at all.

Koji was promoted to Chunnin after the mission due to the need of squad leaders, the previous having been killed. With some authority he was able to act to prevent the deaths of those under his lead. He began to take more stock of the missions given, using more care to perform them with minimal losses. A few he outright abandoned for the sake of his soldiers. His actions had very mixed reactions from those higher than him in command. Many approved of his priority of keeping the soldiers alive for future missions, preserving resources, and accurately judging the importance of objectives and how quickly they needed to be completed. On the other side, some thought he was cowardly at best, wasting time and the talents of soldiers, and at worst insubordinate and deserving of court martial.

Koji always walked along the line of orders if it meant keeping his men alive. Sometimes losses were unavoidable, some orders too important, but he always did everything in his power to bring his men home. By the end of the war he'd proven himself worthy of the title of Jounin, where he commanded with similar strategy given to the chunnin under him. He ended his career with the lowest number of deaths of any other commander, while managing to keep up with similar rates of success. Even if a bit shy of the high marks.

Years after the war, he has decided to help train at least a few of the next generation of shinobi. To instill in them the priority to survive, something he feels the academy teaches poorly. So many would say that the mission comes first, without knowing the horrific reality. That is what they must learn.

Kunai Mastery - At all ranges, close, medium, and far, Koji is a master in the use of these simple weapons. He can accurately bounce thrown kunai off of most surfaces, and does so regularly. Despite the impression one might get from his ranged proficiency, he is no less effective in melee. Koji is highly skilled in taijutsu using the Kunai with his legs adding combinations. His skill with these weapons is such that he could likely, (if convinced with enough alcohol) manage to throw one at a target with his rear end. His throwing range is also much further than usually expected of Kunai, and accurate still even at long distances.

Manual Dexterity - Koji is an expert at movement in battle. He excels in dodging and balancing in both close combat and at a distance. Fighting upside down in the air feels only slightly different than on solid ground.

Battle Awareness - Even with a total lack of sensory jutsu, Koji is able to keep stock of the battlefield and what is happening within. He uses this to help his fellow soldiers and subordinates make proper decisions during the chaos of battle.

Training Others - A proper drill sergeant, Koji will whip his subordinates into shape quickly. Get their stances correct, and punches as impactful as they should be.

Quickdraw - A Kunai expert needs to be able to draw many of them at blinding speeds.

Koji uses varied techniques to win his battles, often before they even start. If he can, he would prefer to avoid a fight by disabling an opponent from a stealthy ambush.

When a fight is unavoidable, he often uses and morphs the existing terrain to his advantage to place traps, or ricochet Kunai from unsuspected angles. Even while placing traps he usually stays aggressive, always aiming to control the pace of the fight and push the enemy where he wants them to be. Generally he stays at medium range, but he is not afraid to get close when an opportunity shows itself to uppercut the opponent in the throat.

Kenshiro Hyuuga

Kenshiro could only stare for a moment with his face reddening with embarrassment at the introduction of their instructor, and her immediate instructions to start doing stretches and exercises right in the middle of town square in front of everyone. "Some call me the mountain!" At first he thought that the woman couldn't be being serious. She was playing a joke with them. But then her instructions came for them to run the buckets with water to the training ground, through the town, in public. With a sigh, he seemed to disobey her orders for a brief moment, not taking part in the stretches. Instead, he started... disrobing. He removed his outer layer, the green robe that made him look sharp and well-dressed. Underneath was a set of very obvious shinobi fatigues, typically used for stealth in the darkness along with ease of movement. High up on his left hip lay a katana on the shorter end of length, and the other side held easily reached shuriken bags and gear. It took Kenshiro only a moment to neatly fold up his robe and easily store it in one of the pouches, before he reached into the collar of his neck and pulled up a face covering to conceal himself for the upcoming humiliation. With his face hidden, he finally started to join in with his new instructor, doing some stretches and trying his best to follow her movements.

When Kuree asked about their motivations, Kenshiro had a difficult time coming up with an answer. It was just what he was born to do. There was little else. The branch family served the main in the Hyuuga, and while different kinds of servants were needed, his duty was in the shinobi forces. "Help out my clan I guess... Yeah that's about it." He let out during a more easy stretch, as he was finishing up and it looked like they were getting ready to make the long trip out to the training ground. 'Ah crap...' Went through his head as he peered at the buckets, seeing just how much they were filled with. Lifting them wouldn't be a problem but carrying them all the way to the training ground was going to really be a pain.

I'm on the front line
Don't worry I'll be fine
The story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
So long to my regret
And now I know that I'm alive

Rashiku had left earlier than he'd needed to in order to make it to Mekakushi-sensei's apartment, leaving himself time to walk more slowly. The early morning air felt the closest to his old home. The cool, slightly damp feeling. The summer season made it less so, but it was close as he could get. Moving through the town gave him time to think over the upcoming meeting. There he'd meet his third teammate, as Kiyoshi had been taken off of the team. Rashiku knew the name of the replacement, Akira Senju, but couldn't place them in memory. Even his instructor whom he'd met, he knew nothing about. His hand raised to scratch his white hair, the boy finding that he really didn't like how in the dark he felt. This was unacceptable, as he'd clearly paid too little attention. Remedy was needed, and he'd have to work on preventing this lack of basic information in the future.

There was one among his team whom he had learned at least an acceptable amount of, but she still partially confounded him. Ami Uzumaki had met him a couple of extra times through the week, once by coincidence, and the other having been sought out by her friend Kimi who had asked many strange questions. The oddest thing about Ami was that she felt... not like a shinobi. She was far too gentle and he felt no predatory instinct like most others he'd met. What Misaki had said about her being too nice and no help in battle crossed his thoughts, but he couldn't fully believe that. The Academy would not have passed her did they not believe her ready. Perhaps that was one of her skills, hiding her intents. It would make sense if she was skilled at appearing helpless enough for an enemy to lower their guard. If that was the case, then it would be an impressive talent. Even her weapon specialization of a folded spear supported the theory. She was curious, and he was eager to see her fight.

Arriving at the apartment, Rashiku was puzzled to find no answer when he'd knocked on the door. He knocked a couple more times, checking assignment letter to be sure of the address. Cautiously he turned the knob to find the door unlocked. Perhaps his sensei didn't hear him. "Sensei? Are you here?" He called out, still not hearing an answer. It felt strange, like he was intruding, but slowly the boy entered, figuring that if his teacher was not home that he would exit and wait outside. Immediately a suspicious object caught his eye, a wooden shuriken shallowly embedded into wall next to the doorframe. Something strange was going on, and quietly the boy took his sword's scabbard off his back to hold it at the ready. It didn't need to be drawn yet. "Chakra sight..."
A couple weak signatures passed behind him, civilians in the street, not of any consequence. More of note was that he could see two people further into the apartment, past the entrance hallway and a couple of walls. People were already here, possibly his sensei, and also worrying were two lines of chakra going across the hallway directly infront of him, almost to where he'd walked into them. They clearly looked like tripwires, made of extremely weak chakra lines that would likely break with the slightest contact.

It would take a bit of maneuvering, but Rashiku felt he could get around the lines and not make too much sound. The situation was suspicious enough that he thought it best to see who was in his instructor's home, and reporting it if it was needed. Jumping over the both of them was the best way to not risk accidentally snagging one, and a simple enough maneuver, but it turned out to not be the route that was truly safe. Right as he silently landed on the other side, a loud snap echoed through the hall right after a soft click of his foot touching a pressure plate hidden in the floor. 'Damn it!' From his left a line of wooden kunai and shuriken launched at him, and swiftly Rashiku rolled forward underneath them, evading them successfully but landing right into another planned pressure plate. "World focus!" Instantly his ability to detect the two chakra signatures in the apartment faded, but instead the incoming projectiles coming his way suddenly appeared to be flying at a snail's pace, along with his own movements going in slow motion. Dodging most, and catching the couple that he couldn't with his sword's scabbard, he kept moving in. The noise clearly had his presence revealed, and by the time he had gotten through, he had successfully not gotten hit by the traps, but activated many of them. Finally able to take a breath and stock of everything that had just happened, he looked to where the chakra signatures were to see a boy he didn't recognize, along with his instructor.

Perplexed he deactivated his dojutsu, looking back and forth between the hallway and Takayuki.

One push is all you'll need
A fist-first philosophy
We watch with wounded eyes
So I hope you recognize
I'm on the front line
Don't worry I'll be fine
The story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
So long to the regret
And now I see the world through diamond eyes
