From a very long time, monsters have been living among humans in various monster communities, hidden from view by magical abilities. Only humans that are completely trusted by the monsters know of their locations, and even then, they are usually not allowed inside their living area.
This is the Umbra Rose Condo, a closed off apartment complex with tight security. Residents hardly ever leave the safety of the gates, and when they do, it's not for long. Magical spells are in place to prevent humans from knowing what happens inside and who the residents of this place truly are... Monsters
Complex The complex is composed of three buildings with 5 floors each and 6 rooms in each floor, except for building 1 which has 7 rooms in each floor.
The first building is where the reception is and all visitors and residents must pass through this building to get to the other ones or exit the complex. This building is also where all mail and deliveries are taken to. the inhabitants of this building are mostly humanoid, as in the event of a raid, they are the ones that can better pretend to be human. The second and third building houses the more non-humanoid races.
Each room is prepared specifically for each person that occupies it. Mermaids for example, get a room that is mostly underwater, with a dry space to accomodate visitors. Each room is also as big as it needs to be, as magic makes the room bigger on the inside compared to the outside.
Amenities As for amenities, all buildings contain a restaurant and a bar that work 24/7. The restaurant offers meals that are made in accordance with the dietery needs of each race.
The second building, contains a small clinic that can provide medical aid to any inhabitant of the complex. Within this building there is also a room called the tranquility room. When a monster is feeling like they need to unleash their powers, they come to this room and use it to clear their minds, mostly by attacking illusions or destroying furniture.
The third building has a small gym with underground pool as well as a cinema, theater and a sports arena. There are also classrooms in this building. Here the monsters can learn human languages or skills, such as driving for example.
Barrier The entire complex is surrounded my a magical field that prevents the humans outside from understanding what is happening on the inside by masking what they see and hear. Anyone looking around will mostly see normal humans walking around while also only being able to hear muffled conversation.
Extras In case the monsters need to leave the complex, they are offered a bracelet that, for a maximum of 4 hours, can make them assume a human form. In case the power is spent, a silent alarm alerts the complex, and a rescue team is quickly assembled so the monsters only need to hide for a short time before rescue gets to them.
The complex also offers items that help monsters on their day. An extremely powerfull sunscreen for vampires... Antidotes and potions to help with accidental poisonings or petrifications... If there's anything that the residents need, the complex will try to fulfill. ---------------------------------------------------------------------

... How, uh... How do the monsters... Y'know... Get disposable income...? Like, are we gonna have to go out and get office jobs or work at MgRonald's or something to support our livelihood and pay rent...? xD
Well, this place is mainly set up to protect the monsters, so there is no rent. Basic necesseties are also free, but if you want to indulge in the modern items that humanity has, then you need to get human money... or acquire said items other ways...
Blood banks and hospitals have to get rid of old blood, so there may be a "disposal service" that supplies the condo. Or they have live-in companions? Really, the only complication is if the vampire has been feeding off of drunks and have themselves become alcoholics. I don't want to imagine the AA meetings....
Perhaps for the werewolves, there's a bank vault or two downstairs. Livestock is brought in, put in the vault with the werewolves, and in the morning wash out the vault with a firehouse (good drains) and burn the remains in the furnace. I'd hate to be the one trying to break into the vault on a full moon only to find werewolves....
I've got an idea for a dragon, living in the penthouse on the top floor, overlooking the pool (which means there's an interstitial space the floor below for a mechanical room and the pool itself). Or maybe an indoor pool on the first floor to avoid helicopters and drones? The dragon wouldn't mind putting up some plants for a green space. Or are you going to be playing the dragon?
Nop. Not playing a dragon so feel free to do so. I'm going to play as a gorgon that is part of the staff, namely, the assistant manager. Most other staff will be NPCs.
I am interested! Do monsters have to be real, or can we kinda make our own?
Also, you said there were some amenities, but like, if someone were to play a vampire or werewolf, I imagine they have to handle themselves when it comes to feeding and the full moon? Or are you thinking their rooms would be equipped to deal with those sorts of things?
You can make your own monster.
Not only the rooms are equipped to deal with that, but the complex itself knows of any requirements of monsters and will accomodate those requirements. Vampires for example, can travel freely while within the complex as a magical barrier protects them from the sun and there is a bar that offers suspiciously red colored drinks to those that need it. Werewolves not only get a smart locking system that traps them inside their rooms during a full moon, but the complex also offers courses on controlling instinct based behaviours.
This seems like it could be fun. A bit of laid-back slice of life shennanigans with monster girls, along with the potential for some action/suspense could be an enjoyable setting. ^^
Just a few questions though:
1. Does this take place in "ou" world/on Earth? And if so, in what country/location?
2. Are there any particular monsters that're off-limits to play as? Or ones you'd prefer people to avoid?
3. To keep things from stagnating, do the apartment complex have any sort of recreational or other special amenities/facilities besides jjust... Well, living spaces? I imagine it'd have areas to cater or take care of monsters with special needs - such if someone played a mermaid or some kind of arctic/ice monster. But will there be other things to do inside the apartments? Or is this where going outside comes into play?
4. How will you handle time-progression? Given that some people might be staying indoors just chatting, while others go outside to venture, how are you going to keep the time-of-day coherent between players? This isn't really an important question, more just morbid curiosity on my part.
5. Do you prefer people to play as a single, focused character, or can players make more than one toon for this RP - if they want?
Those're all the things I'm wanting to know right now. Thank you for your time.
1. It takes place in our world, but still an undefined country. I'll need to think a bit more.
2. Not at all.
3. The appartments are made for the monster in question. Some might be bigger on the inside as well. There are some amenities, but nothing big like a supermarket or even a cinema. For those kinds of things, they would have to leave.
4. From time to time I will make a post with the current time in the world. Players can then take in to account the time and proceed accordingly. They don't need to do that immediatly however. I make the post about the time, they keep rping, and when they feel like they have reached that point, then they can acknowledge the time.
5. Singles only for now. If I feel that we need more characters, I might allow more than one toon.
6. All is allowed. Dragons, Kitsunes, Slimes, the flying spaguetti monster... go for it
Yep. Totally fine. We'd just have to make sure the stone powers aren't too op, or God mod. So we can say they can control it or something maybe
Indeed. I was mostly thinking about a "young" Gorgon whose powers haven't fully developed yet, so instead of turning someone to stone it's just a temporary paralysis.

This is a slice of life fantasy roleplay about monsters living in an apartment building in a city. They can be who they really are inside the gates of the complex, but outside, they need to behave like humans or the Hero Association may find them. I have various plans about events happening both inside and outside the complex, so if this interests you, please let me know.
