Current Anybody else played Vampyr? Almost done with it and it's a pretty sweet game if you don't mind combat that was seemingly designed by a wet noodle.

In the distant future planets are dying; subject to the wrath of some unknown cataclysm. Seven worlds on the outer galactic rim have fallen victim to this destruction which renders the planet entirely uninhabitable. Though the planets of the inner rims refuse to acknowledge the threat it has become very real to the governments and civilizations that must seek answers in the wake of its rampage. The assailant is unknown, be it some plague or monstrosity it has ravaged worlds and is not likely to subside. The events have lead to millions of displaced citizens seeking refuge in the inner worlds. Thousands of systems under hundreds of governments debate endlessly on how to handle the refugee issue, while thousands more mobilize and prepare to fight for their land against the pirate and mercenary lords that have stemmed from the destruction of their homes. Now, through some twist of fate or act of divine intervention, you have come into contact with Muru; an infant and one of last of her kind. Your destiny is interwoven with hers, and from this day forth your actions will shape the fate of the galaxy.

CHARACTER SHEET

Name:
Race:
Age:
Gender:
Occupation:
Homeworld:
Homeworld Description: (Only applicable if you choose a planet not listed above. Don't go crazy with this, be reasonable but have fun.)

Appearance: (Include regular clothing, not armor)

Armor/weapons: (Melee weapons like stun batons and vibro-swords and shields do exist if you'd like to play a knight type rather than use a gun. And as for armor, be creative and have fun. It's super advanced, you can come up with your own armor, think Star Wars level here.)

Backstory: (Be as detailed as you want. You have a galaxy sized sandbox to make this. Only think about what you've done up until about two months before the roleplay begins.)

Doing my new draft of the OOC now.
Was almost done with the OOC and I hit some button which ended up deleting all my progress :(

I will continue working on it, though now it likely wont be available until late tonight. Likely some time around 10pm EST.
I'm glad you're putting some thought into it. To answer at least one question: I had intended to give players free reign on where they are from and how they wound up at the beginning of the story. I won't mind players making up their own planets and stuff since the galaxy is a big place after all. I'll basically just lay out where we stand at the beginning of the story and your life up to that point is yours to customize.
Absolutely!
Well this is great! I was looking for 3-5 players so if all three of you remain interested I will be a happy camper. I'll get started on the OOC, it will be up by tonight and I'll post the link here for you all! In the mean time if you have any specific questions please feel free to message me at any time.

In the distant future planets are dying. An elusive culprit has struck out against several systems and whether it is some unknown individual with advanced technology, a malevolent corporation, an unknown species, or some form of interplanetary plague is up for debate. All that is known for sure is that any planet which falls victim will become completely uninhabitable. Soil becomes infertile, the atmosphere thins and eventually dissipates, and the water becomes polluted and toxic. Society has turned a blind eye to these happenings as only several planets have been affected; all of which existed on the outer rim of the galaxy; however to the systems and governments who make their home in these regions this threat has become very real.

Now you, through some twist of fate, have come into contact with Muru: an infant and one of the last of her kind.

Hey so this is my interest check, obviously. This roleplay is meant to be set some time in the distant future, so far that earth is no longer home to human kind and whether or not it even exists at this point is a topic for debate. I intend this to be somewhat similar to Star Wars in that it will have some fantasy elements. Nothing like the force, but there are going to be things that could be considered "Magic" or in other terms, Mythical.

While I do want the roleplay to be character driven I have a very rigid story I would like to adhere to as well because in a sense I want this roleplay to feel like you're reading or playing through a Myth or Legend. So the way I'd like to play it is I have certain points I'd like us to get through, but how we reach them will be up to the players to determine. I have a cast of dark villains, mighty heroes, and humorous aliens along the way on a new Space Odyssey.

If this generates interest I'll go into more details like the state of the galaxy, the threat were facing, who Muru is and the kind of mission we'd be embarking on.

"You're a good scout, Eltharian. Thank you. Stay up here next to me for now." Anorath knew that what he was about to do was just as likely to make the scout remove his head as it was to embolden him. "And thank you as well, Iorelle." The prince stood silently for a moment as the crowd gathered and then looked off into the distance past the great wooden palisade that they called a wall. What I do, I do for Amenor. he thought bitterly.

"Citizens of Mithreal," he began to address the wide crowd of soldiers that had amassed before him. "Your city is under attack. Nay, our city, our lands. Elvenkind has been united for thousands of years so I dare say that this city belongs to all those who share your elvish roots. I may be of Amenor, a place many of you may never see, but I have grown with you all over the past months and I must say that the tenacity of your people is profound." Anorath pointed at one of the soldiers in the crowd. "I remember you. Raenor? Yes, that's right. You carried a bag full of rocks up the hill to the temple on your sick day. That bag must have weighed two hundred pounds. And you," he pointed at another, "you were the first one I saw leave the treeline today when the fighting commenced. That's bravery." Anorath had come to the difficult part. Any leader could compliment a soldier or remember a face, but asking them to do something they didn't want to do was what would make a king out of him. He paused for a moment.

"That is bravery beyond that which I show now. I am leaving. And what I ask of you now is likely the most difficult thing I shall do as I walk this earth. I need volunteers to come with me. We will head to Amenor and tell my father, the king, of the happenings here. He will raise his armies and we will come back. We will come back and save this city." Anorath made sure to make eye contact with every elf he possibly could. Anorath turned to Eltharion.

"Eltharion. I know this is your home. I need you to come with me." It was not command but sincerity in his voice now. "Who better to represent your people than one of those who stands as their first line of defense? And you'll know the quickest ways out of the country. I need you. And you," he pointed at Iorelle. "I need you too. You represent the college, if you attend council with my father and I it will give much more credence to my word. If he sees that even the combined might of all the mages in Mithreal is not enough to quell this foe he will have no choice. And as for the rest of you, any who wish to accompany me on this journey will be more than welcomed. The rest shall remain here to..." die he thought, "defend the city. What say you all?" Anorath raised a mailed fist into the air and waited for a reply.
Im about to post. Sorry for the delay, hope you're all still here.
