Kafele, "the Immortal"Age: 19
Gender: Male
Appearance: Kafele seems to be, by all conceptions, a sheltered young man who doesn't speak besides in a timid manner. His hair length isn't long, neither is it short, windswept above his watery, ghost-white eyes. Aside from his small, rounded nose, the rest of his features remain hidden within his coat during any mid-cool/freezing seasons. He stands at 5'1'' and is typically noted to weigh less than a feather (if a feather were to weigh 120lbs). His hands usually remain uncovered at the ends of his jacket sleeves, revealing the smooth, lightly-tanned skin. His pants and boots always match the color scheme of his earth-toned jacket.
Personality: There isn't much to note of timid Kafele. In most social conditions, he prefers to stand aside, surveying the surrounding events. He speaks softly and attempts to keep eye contact as he was taught. During combat circumstances, however, remains to be seen among his comrades.
Power/Ability: "Cheat Death" - In the event that Kafele is the victim of murder by another Human being, Kafele is instead swapped with said being to avoid death.
I'll try to explain its every details to show its full power in detail; this includes how it can be overpowered, and how it isn't. First and foremost: What does it do? This power switches the holder with an attacking enemy upon fatal strikes. This can get a bit tricky, so allow me to show you an example. Kafele is eating at WcDonald's when a robber enters the store. Said robber demands money from the cashier, and Kafele stands to confront the thug. Even after a warning shot, Kafele approaches the thug. The robber finally turns the gun on Kafele and pulls the trigger, aiming the barrel at Kafele's chest. Upon the flash of the muzzle, it is as if time has stopped, space has warped, and in the robber's position now stands Kafele. Several feet away, where Kafele once stood, is the robber. Time resumes (all unnoticeable by the naked eye), and the desperate man takes the lethal blow.
"So what, Kafele is immune to death?" Yes, and no. This god-like power has limits, like any other. This power primarily affects pre-meditated killing attacks from Humans, though is not completely limited to such. Stabbing, slashing, gunfire, fire, poison, and asphyxiation would switch Kafele and the enemy upon which point Kafele likes to call the "Fate Action," a decision or reflex which determines the outcome of Kafele's life, no matter the length of time it would take for the lethal attack to take effect. Need an example? Let's say one wanted to poison Kafele, something that wouldn't kill him immediately but would turn up his corpse within the next five hours. Rather than Cheat Death activating upon the last beat of the heart, it activates when the poison is consumed and switches the circumstances between himself and the would-be assassin.
"Then what are the limits?" Surely you have an idea by now. Wild and other semi-sentient creatures without command can freely kill Kafele without Cheat Death activating. Also, natural causes and disease are completely unaffected by the power. Finally, suicide is the only sentient action that could remove Kafele's soul. This passive ability (one that requires no activation on the user's part) is not consumed at any point. You can perhaps see where this power is utterly useless, aside from my aforementioned circumstances. Non-lethal activity, such as sparring, would be completely power-free on Kafele's part. Freak accidents could still take his life. Being knocked unconscious, trapped, restrained, etc. are all unaffected by Cheat Death until an action by the enemy would switch them (unfortunately, starvation/dehydration would still kill Kafele).
One last note about the power; to better acclimate Kafele to his sudden surroundings and events, he is given the last ten seconds of the attacker's life. "I'm sure I know what this means, but give me an example so we're on the same page." Sure thing, dear reader. Say Kafele is walking across the road when a driver paid no heed to the red light. What would be vehicular manslaughter on the driver's end, instead, the driver is ran over by Kafele should he be unable to react in time. For the switch, Kafele is able to spectate what the driver's last moments were as he was driving, realizing the circumstances and adjusting to the sudden posture change. This allows Kafele to comprehend instantly and prevent a full-on wreck by simply tapping the brakes rather than swerving wildly.
Team: Beta
Extras: Previously a Guardian, though has been recently lifted to Angel status due to the Cheat Death augmentation. Vital organs have been introduced to "v2" upgrades, improving his endurance in cases of imprisonment. Flight, as is granted to all Angels, has been implemented as well, though a flaw has been detected and grants only bursts that can be related to "jetpacks" or "super jumping," granting enormous forward momentum whilst running or during flight. Kafele has been neglected in the case of any shielding upgrades, for an obvious reason.
