EDIT-- What about making Witch Characters?
Ahaha. This will be fun.
psst. Tobiax, I PM'd you.
Name: Jacques Boudreaux [Jaxs Bah-oo-dro] “The Red Sword”
Age: 27
Height: 5’11’’
Weight: 170
Build: Athletic build ~
Jacques has a much defined upper body with broad, very muscular shoulders, upper back, chest and arms. His arms especially are highly muscular commonly with his veins protruding out of them. His shoulders are very wide for his body giving him almost a sort of triangular frame that is hard and wide up top and slim from the waists down. He has a smooth, slim swimmer’s build from his torso and very thin legs. His stockier upper body is from sword practice and routine physical exercise.

Race: Human
Appearance:

Equipment:

Due to his skill-level, Jacques does not travel with armor. He travels light, most commonly in clothing, or a little warm if he is in a cooler climate. He is traditionally very unintimidating or unremarkable when it comes to his on-body equipment looking as ordinary as any travelling man.

  • Eye of Mesmir – Powerful psychic eye from a powerful monster that enables the user to hypnotize those that look into it. The Eye of Mesmir uses a powerful suggestive magic that can encourage or even completely manipulate the senses and mind of someone staring directly into to either make them say the truth, do something they ordinarily would not, or even fall into a deep sleep. Those of a strong mind or magical affinity can easily resist the eye, however ordinary individuals or beings of low intelligence are more likely to fall under its sway. [Doesn't work on any IC characters]

The Eye of Mesmir is the right eye of a demon that was killed many hundreds of years ago by a swordseeker. The eye holds the power of suggestion over others, offering the power to convince others to do things or encourage feelings and emotions or sensations to wash over them. The Demon itself was very powerful and held a small dominion of monsters in which he would raid upon villages. It was killed by an arrow in the head and was first held by man when the arrow was attempted to be retrieved. It’s soul essence was placed in with the eye and each time it’s vessel dies the parasitic object latches on to a new host to remain in existence. It holds a mind of its own, but it takes everything it has just to maintain itself and generally does everything within its power to ensure it will not fade away into nothingness. The more the power of the eye is used the more aged the eye become and, eventually, it develops the ability to hypnotize it’s host. It remains in constant conflict with the Heart of Chaleur as it fights the Heart’s desire to take over by self-preservation.

  • Lisette – A magical sword enchanted by magic and engaged with a powerful crystal known as a Chaleur Heart which is a sphere like shape and a crimson red. This sword was passed down to Jacques from his father and he enchanted it with his skill with fire magic. The Chaleur Heart is a living, cognizant essence of magic that was created by Jacque’s father. It chooses a worthy master and chooses whom to give its power too. The sword itself has the ability to heat itself, without burning or harming the user with its heat, to create a super-heated edge. The magical edge has the ability to heat itself so high that it can cut through tree, stone, and metal alike. The sword is a formidable weapon that is said to be able to cut almost anything that is not protected by magic.

The Chaleur Heart is a demonic artifact that was created by a infernal fire demon many thousands of years ago. The Heart gives men power over fire and heat while slowly consuming their souls and turning them darker and darker to eventually become demons or monsters that thirst for blood and the flesh of their own kind. It generally chooses one host at a time and must be in sync with them on a spiritual level, emotional level and physical level before a hostile takeover. Not all become demons, but the Heart has never failed to take a host with time. It remains in constant conflict with the Eye of Mesmir and attempts to burn any areas of growth the eye may hold over the host.

  • Magma Rocks –  These are volcanic rocks that have a unique property when ran against the Chaleur Heart and Lisette. These rocks will do different things depending on what the intention of the user is. When the rocks are struck against the sword they can glow, to create light for a duration, cause moderate grenade explosions, be set as trap mines to explode upon contact, store warmth to be pressed against the skin and they can catch fire to create small fires with them at the center. For the most part, Jacques will run them against the sword and use throw them to case small, hot, flashy explosions to surprise or destroy a target. They have enough impact damage to tear apart a solid 50 foot tree or create a large hole in a brick house. They are his most versatile weapon.

Story: ] Jacques Boudreaux is the first son of Markus Bodreaux and Jamilla Bodreaux and Markus’ second and youngest child. His father was an adventurer and his mother was a local alchemist owning her own apothecary and specializing in herbs and medicines. His father was a knight, sworn under the King, and a well-known monster hunter. In their hometown Markus was said to be the best with his sword and hunted down challenges whenever he could.

Markus’ obsession with hunting monsters and being strong centered on the loss of his first wife, Lisette. Markus and Lisette had a home outside of the city and it was attached by a wicked demon known as Chaleur. Chaleur was a demon of fire, who boasted great power and held an insatiable thirst for human blood. It was always careful to always hunt isolated humans, for fear of possibly being outnumbered by humans and this day, well before Jacques’ birth, it sought the Lisette and Markus. It was swift in killing his wife, melting off her skin, and consuming her heart. While it was busy with her, mostly by luck, Markus managed to douse the monster in ice water before cutting its heart clean out. The heart was a hard metal like substance which he kept and, burying his wife, dedicated his life to slaying monsters.
Markus would make his way into the city where he would meet Jamilla the healer for, of course, healing and she comforting his loss and took after his first son before, eventually, they fell in love and had Jacques.

By the time Jacques was around his father was obsessed with slaying monsters and hunting down demons. His father would eventually become a man of great title and reputation, moving his family to a quickly more comfortable estate and status. Jacques always admired his father and, with his brother, would train and train his hardest to be as great a man as his father. His father was the Sword that Never Quit and The Arm that Never Tired known for his violent, savage and powerful sword skills. When his father would visits all both his boys ever wanted to do was train and train and train and, although they never really saw him too much, it was how they did bond and become a closer family. Jacques held such enormous respect for his father…Until he was 13.

When Jacques was 13 that was when he met with Ashad the Unsaid. Ashad was a hypnotist thief that, due to circumstance, came to lose everything he had by Jacque’s father. Ashad was a talented archer, but he spent most of his time stealing and taking women against his will that he had a very negative reputation and, in a bout, Markus embarrassed him in a city far away…So Ashad sought to embarrass Markus as well…Through the man’s family. Ashad entered the Bodreaux home in the middle of the night with 4 of his closes, most deceitful hoodlum friends that he could find, and raided the place. Jacques tried to fight, along with his brother, which resulted in one of Ashad’s goods accidentally killing the boy. Killing one meant they were going to have to kill them all.

Right in front of his eyes, Jacques watched as they tortured and manipulated his mother. There was some strange power that Ashad had in which he could verbally tell his mother to do something and she did it, though it looked like she didn’t want to do it…Unless he told her to want it. It was disgusting. Never in Jacque’s life had he ever seen such a worse sight. Trying to fight, Jacques was thrown through a wall that had a secret stash of his father’s things and of those included the heart of that powerful Fire Demon that Markus killed over a decade ago.

The Chaleur Heart literally spoke to him, in his head, offering him strength if he would free it from the darkness. Grabbing caused everything around him to catch fire. It enveloped the entire house and all those inside. Ashad managed to escape, using his mother as a living shield by making her walk through and move the fire out of his way, but his friends were not lucky. It was by magic that was not his own, but it was magic still. The fire poured out of the metal heart and burned everything away.
Everything except Jacques.

Having seemingly passed out from the exercise, Jacques woke in a bed a few days later with his father by his side. His father asked him what had happened and all Jacques could remember was his dead half-brother and the screams of his mother and a newfound feeling arose for his father…Hatred and betrayal. If his father had been there, instead of running around on his adventures, their family would still be here!

His father was deeply hurt by his son’s hatred of him and for a few days they didn’t speak more than that. His father no longer went on adventures, nor did he seek out Ashad after that. He truly felt a loss like no other this time, even worse than when he lost Lisette. They first started speaking again when Markus saw that Jacques was holding the demonic heart that had, incidentally, saved his son’s life. Markus asked about it and Jacques explained what had happened that day in detail and he warned his son that the Heart was not from any monster or wizard or craftsman, it was from a Demon. It held some suspicious power and that it could eject flames was more reason for it to be locked away. Jacques told his father he would throw it in the lake then…But he never did and his father knew he didn’t, but that was the boy’s choice and his father was half curious as well about the power of that Heart.

Markus stayed close to his son, wanting to be a better father and to protect him in case Ashad decided to finish what he had started. Still, Markus wanted nothing more than to go hunt the man down and cut off all his limbs he knew he had a responsibility to his son. Markus and Jacques slowly rekindled their love for each other and Markus took to training Jacques about everything he knew about being a Monster Hunter.

As Jacques grew more proficient with the sword Markus knew that even if he did not go after Ashad that Jacques would. He saw the fiery hatred for that man deep in Jacques and he would do everything he could to prep the boy to become a powerful swordsman. The two moved around a lot. There was never a complaint about all their nomadic lifestyle because in truth Jacques knew his father yearned to protect cities from monsters and they both were always hoping that Ashad would be in one of the cities they travelled too. Jacques learned a lot from his father during their travels. The amount of knowledge he really took for granted at that time growing up.

When Jacques was 19 his father ended up marrying another beautiful woman, almost half his age. His father was a very handsome man and he always ended up killing off some monster or scarring off some bandits or pillagers or corrupt Swordseekers them his popularity ended him a certain quality of respect and women. His father, getting old, decided he was going to be done with travelling and live the rest of his days mining. He held strength and the woman, Acreste, held great wealth. She was also a prolific Artisan of Fire, meaning she held some gift in weaving and using fire magic with special fire stones.

Jacques lived with his father and new step mother, but the stationary life was not what he wanted. He now understood what his father gained from adventuring and slaying monsters and saving lives…It was worth it. It was beyond worth it. Seeing him restless, Acreste taught him some of her art. To be honest, her ability was far too complicated for him to completely understand, but it allowed them to become closer and he eventually saw her as a warm, nurturing mother. She would also learn of the Chaleur Heart.

Unlike many, her grandfather was well versed with demonology, having been a priest, and Acreste’s father, herself, and Jacques all learned to control the power that came from the Chaleur Heart, but it would only head the bidding of Jacques specifically, often speaking to him in whispers. Acreste’s grandfather stated that the heart would eventually turn Jacques into a demon if he let the power of the heart into his own heart and he would be the same as any monster. Jacques never told his father about that, knowing that the man knew nothing about the stone or that Jacques’ kept it.

Jacques, having learned to use magma stones, as taught by Acreste, sought to travel just like his father had. Jacques told his father that he would become a Swordseeker so that he would find Ashad. Jacques could never live a satisfied life knowing that man was still free having killed his mother and brother. Markus gave Jacques his sword, Lisette, named after his first wife, and gave his son guidance on how to join the sword seekers. Before he left, Acreste used her ancient family magic to bond the Chaleur Heart to his father’s sword. It was a near impossible task for her, but she had managed with every ounce of alchemic skill that she held. It was then that Lisette the sword of fire was born.

Jacques was enlisted into the Grandshield at the sage of 19 and became a Swordseeker of their esteem. He dedicated his life to the King and swore and oath of fealty as well as duty to slay monsters and protect the people. Unlike many Swordseekers out there, Jacques enjoyed monster hunting, just like his father, and had a name and title to back it up. However, even though there was that title and commitment binding him, he also sought the demise of Ashad and, having a bit more resources with his title he hunted the man down.

It took 3 years to find Ashad, the man was clever and knew when he was being followed, but Jacques had found and cornered the man. Ashad had a demonic eye, known as the Eye of Mesmir which allowed him to hypnotize those of lesser constitutions. It did not work on Jacques, his will was too strong, but it worked on many of the townsfolk. Ashad was able to hypnotize them with a glance of his right eye, which was blue. It was difficult to get through innocent people that were trying to kill him, but Jacques managed to knock out enough people and chase down Ashad to a nearby river.

The two fought, Ashad utilizing poison daggers, but Jacques managed to cleave the man clean in half. Jacques would stab his sword directly into Ashad’s head and removed the man’s right eye, which was the demonic weapon that caused all the people to fall under his spell. The moment that Jacques touched the eye it inserted itself into the palm of his hand and, very painfully, would dig through his arm, through his shoulder, and would merge with his right eye same as it did when Ashad acquired it decades ago.

That was how Jacques acquired his second demonic artifact the Eye of Mesmir and claimed his vengeance on the man that destroyed his family. Jacques almost lost his life in fighting Ashad, having taken many wounds from the townsfolk and having been poisoned by Ashad’s weapons but someone had saved him. Just like when he was a boy in the fire, the next day he awoke in a bed…But this time there was no on around. No one remembered the night Ashad tricked them into fighting and Jacques was at a loss as to who treated him…Especially of poison.

At a loss of what to do, Jacques decided to rest up and return to the Grandshield to further his rank and slay all the monsters that he could. There were so many monsters and so many of these dark, unseen creatures that manipulated man in the dark. He wanted to make the world a better place and he planned to use all his power to do so. As such, he was ecstatic when a recent offer to go on a new, unexplored mission was announced by the King. He would use his gifts to ensure the peace and prosperity of the world.
