Celia watched her two companions prepare their own magic and armaments, Jayce checking his arm and Noire transforming to link them with a web strand. The young girl decided to prepare herself as well, since her magic did actually require some prep. She held out her arms to both sides, and closed her eyes. Violet sparks spiraled and snaked from her arms to the ground, licking the sandy, dusty surface. A dark, iridescent mist formed, before giving way to a shimmering light among it. The shining particles gathered in Celia's hands, forming a compact whitish-blue sphere, surrounded in the mist, about the size of a small melon. It was more than enough to work with, since her stardust was pretty reusable.

Holding it in her hands, she nodded to Jayce. It was getting to be mid- to late-afternoon, now, and she didn't want to be stuck in such a dark place at night for long. She could easily produce light, but that wouldn't dissuade any possible nocturnal predators. "Sounds like a plan." She affirmed. With that, Celia began to walk down the slope into the edge of the valley. Soon enough, the walls would pass their heads, and they'd be in the Web's clutches.
"Aye, aye sir!" Celia saluted, and followed diligently out the town gates and onto the road. A bubbling of adrenaline was already pulsing through her veins, and small crackles of violet lighting occasionally snapped across her fingers. It was this energy that readied nearby earth to be used, and the fact that it was already practically buzzing around her showed how determined she was to get through this. No more wandering thoughts, no more silliness, it was time for work...okay, maybe a little silliness to keep up morale.Though, she didn't know what "a little" meant when it came to such a thing.

After a bit of a walk, the scenery was changing to reflect the rocky Web Valley. The pale stone did sort of remind Celia of the light strands of a spider's web. As the Valley drew closer, some signs were scattered about warning travelers to be cautious, or to outright turn around. "They really should put these on the Bosco side..." Celia mumbled to herself, thinking that if they did, this would have been avoided.
Totally what I was going for.

...as in I had no idea what I was going for.
Celia had jumped to various textile and accessory stalls, finally stopping at the one Jayce and Noire found her. There were several bolts laid out on the table, with a few hanging over it and some in the back. The stall was run by a sweet-looking elderly woman, with silver hair in a ponytail, and slim, happy features. Celia's hand fell onto a particular starry print, noticing how soft the material was. It was marked at 500 Jewels. Usually, cloth that cheap was coarse and porous, but this was actually exceptional for it's price.. "Excuse me, ma'am?" Celia asked, getting the vendor's attention. She turned around, "Yes, dear? What can I help you with?" She asked warmly. "I really like this starry fabric...could I buy it and come back later to get it? My friends and I are on a job." Celia inquired just as kindly.

"Why, certainly dear. That wouldn't be any trouble at all." The vendor responded, causing Celia to squeal in happiness. She pulled out five 100 Jewel notes, and handed them to the older woman. With a "Stay safe!", the vendor put the bolt under the table to await Celia's return. The young wizard turned and nodded to Jayce. "Yep! I'm gonna make some cute scarves and bows out of that fabric!" She was probably way too stoked for sewing, but then again, Celia was way too stoked for everything. Now that they had all they needed, it was time to get to work.

A determined look in her eye, she clutched onto her bag's strap. "Alright, guys. Time to save some travelers!"
Celia didn't really want Jayce to cover all of the costs, but she did have to conserve money for her rent and her own groceries. With a bit of a sad, "Alright...Thanks, Jayce." Her grin was back, especially watching Noire try to get some of the meats. To the poor thing's dismay, Jayce stopped her each time, and Celia couldn't help but laugh. Taking a moment to ponder if she did have any allergies, she responded to Jayce's question, "Well, I don't think so...oh, wait! I did get a bunch of hives when I ate a radish one time! So radishes are probably a bad idea. Unless you like radishes, then I'll just stay away from them!"

When Jayce picked up Noire with his mechanical arm, causing the large black creature to suddenly become the most obedient and docile that Celia had seen her. This got another chuckle out of Celia, before she decided to go look around at the textile stalls while Jayce took care of the shopping.
"Yay, shopping!" Celia cheered and began following Jayce, waving to the Hunter's Guild before leaving. Gordon simply shook his head in bewilderment as he returned to his duties.

As they wandered towards the market, something was bothering her. And that was rare. It had been 5 days since the travelers were reported as missing. They could have been stuck there for a day or two before anyone took notice. At the very back of her mind, a tiny seed of dread was starting to grow. What if they hadn't been able to survive? What if this spider guardian was real? For the sake of getting things done and maintaining her optimism, Celia put these thoughts very far back.

They arrived at the market, a little north of the station, where stalls lined the outer edge of the plaza. Some produce vendors and bakers were eagerly selling their fresh wares, and a couple blacksmiths had their weapons and armor on display. "Oooh..." Celia marveled at all of the products, before shaking the stars out of her eyes and turning to Jayce. "So, we need food and bandages and stuff like that, right?" She looked into her bag, pulling out a cute little chicken coin purse, to account for her money. Bills and coins were stuffed inside. "...I've got about 5000 Jewels on me." Celia informed Jayce, wondering how they'd split up the costs.
Gordon looked the trio up and down. Sure, the guy looked kinda tough with that big metal arm, but he wasn't sure about the dog-like creature or the teenager. "Middlemist, huh? You must be from that... what is it...Mystic Ham then?" He asked, after a brief pause as his older brain mixed up the last half of the name. "Well, it depends which missing persons you're looking for. Our most recent report was about some group of travelers getting stuck in there." Gordon reached under the bar and pulled out a box. Upon opening it, one could see files within it's confines, filled with yellowed paper.

"These are all of the Web Valley notices we get. Let's see here, X791...here we go." Gordon pulled a sheet from the box, upon which was scrawled a map, showing how far and where the last party went. The trail was drawn around the outer edges of the valley, showing just how hesitant the Hunters were to go any deeper. Additional details concerning the case were scrawled above the map, showing that the group was a band of merchants from Bosco, and time of disappearance: 5 days ago.

"Here's what we've got. The poor fools must have gotten lost much further in...and considering the time they went missing, there's no guarantee that they're still alive." Gordon cautioned, as several hunters about started whispering. They're goners... They whispered, We've tried everything, as usual...

Celia snapped out of her daydream to hear all of this, and she simply countered him, them all, really, with a bright smile. "That's no way to think, Mr. Gordon, " She bent down to pet Noire on the head as she continued, "There's still a chance to find them, we just have to push onward, even with the risks. Simple as that, right, Jayce?"
The young wizard entered into the building, and in all honesty, wasn't too surprised by what was there. Maybe the set-up was a bit different from the Mystic Ram guild hall, but it was obvious that camaraderie was strong in the Hunter's Guild building.Along with a board in the back with various assignments and such, a bar sat right at the entrance, and stuffed heads of various game hung on the walls. Hunters milled about the several tables on the floor, boasting and planning and drinking all they could. A few looked their way and their gaze lingered on the slight, dainty looking girl before turning back to their conversations.

A burly man with graying hairs on his head and face looked up from the stein he was washing, eyebrows arching a little before making his way closer to the edge of the bar, nearer to the entrance. He flexed the large muscles under his beige button-up shirt as he rolled his shoulders and smirked, "Welcome to the Hunter's Guild, folks. Name's Gordon. Come to join up?" Gordon inquired, mostly to Jayce. obviously disregarding any possibility that a girl like Celia could want to join. However, at the mention of it, Celia began to daydream of what life as a hunter would be like, staring off into space. It was a wonder that she ever got through jobs alive.
Celia nodded at Jayce's directions, looking around for the sign that denoted Clover Street. It was a small town, so there really wasn't much chance of them getting lost for too long, but it was still good that at least one of them knew where to go. The homey, colorful buildings were a joyful sight, and Celia made sure to wave to anyone who looked her way. When she saw a cat in front of a store, she made it a point to go over and pet it for a good thirty seconds before remembering that they were on a job. "Bye Kitty, Celia's got work to do!" She waved and skipped the rest of the way to the Hunter's Guild. The meaning of "conserving energy" was utterly lost to her.

With the pair behind her, Celia stopped in front of an awfully guild-like looking building. It was a large, almost tavern-looking structure, with dark wood composing the walls, standing out from the more subdued architecture of Clover Town. Turning to Jayce and Noire, she smiled and held out her arm towards the entrance. She was kind of bored of taking the lead, and decided to follow Jayce for a while.
Celia looked over the paper and nodded, a determined look on her face. "Sounds good! I'll make the biggest, brightest signal ever!" She was backed to her usual excitement, sort of blocking out the part about sunlight not really mattering in this case. Sunlight always mattered!

They were getting closer to Clover Town now, the buildings appearing below them as the train crossed the hill. The town looked quite pretty and quaint from the windows of the train, making Celia smile. She loved the outdoors, especially the forested and mountainous regions of the country. Being in a guild had given her the chance to see a lot of it, but it never got old for her.

The train was starting to pull into the station, prompting Celia to look back to Jayce and Noire. "Alrighty, so we hit up the Hunter's Guild, then we head off and show 'em what Mystic Ram wizards can do!" She encouraged, ready to knock the job out of the park.
