Bio

I'm EchoicChamber, though I mostly go by Echo.
I'm in my twenties, and returned here on a whim.
I have no idea what's happening at any given moment.

@TheNoCoKid Hi! Sorry for bothering you, but I wanted to check and see whether you caught my sheet.
"Son of Duke Valentine", eh? And recently booted out of the estate, to boot. It explained why the man had no problem tossing his Echoes around, at least.

Captain Colette Lovette was never one to turn down an opportunity- especially when said opportunity had to do with free booze- and as such, had been floating about the wine garden for some time before the announcement'd rung out. She had contented herself to lounging on one of the many benches that decorated the place, a glass of freshly poured Greyfields in one hand, the shoulder of a doe-eyed young man in the other. It wasn't often that she was able to take shore leave in London, so she was ready to make the most of it, here on this fine Neathy day.

Of course, the thing about London- or anywhere else underground, really- is that you should always be prepared for the unexpected. Like an announcement from the Ministry, for instance. She didn't get why they had to be so vague about it, though. A "miracle" could mean a lot of things up on the Surface, let alone down below. Did the Devils decide to shut down the trains and let the damned go free? Did the Bishop find the face of God in his slice of early morning toast? Is a Master announcing a whirlwind romance with a scullery maid?

Well, there was only way to find out.

So, Colette had uncrossed her legs, snuck her companion a kiss and a coy wink, and slipped off to join the crowd on their march upstreet. She was pleasantly surprised to find that, while she wouldn't consider what they found at the end of the road a "miracle", it definitely looked like it'd make a great afternoon adventure. She wound through the crowds like a buttered eel, and came to a stop in eyeshot of the sign.

Seven heroic deeds, huh? Yeah. Yeah, she thought she could give that a pretty good go.

She watched with some amusement as a few suited gentlemen tried to struggle their way up the fence, only to be held back by some invisible force. It was hard to say what the Mysterious Palace could consider "heroic", given that was more of a matter of perspective than anything, but, still. It was worth a shot. Even if she didn't succeed, it would at least be a fun way to spend the day, and she'd be bringing a little bit of good into the city, too. That seemed fine to her.

"Short a palace?" Colette piped up, above the din of the crowd. "I'm surprised you've been able to last this long in those conditions."

Her lips were parted into a wide, toothy grin, peligin eyes shining with good humor. Depending on what kind of person this "Lord Valentine" was, the comment would either go very well, or very poorly. Either way, though, it was always a delight to meet new people.

Here she is! I'll probably pretty up the page tomorrow, but for now, I just wanted to get her page in before I went to bed.
@TheNoCoKid Perfect! I'll go ahead and take a look at the other sheets, and then patch one of my own together.
Hello! Is there still room to apply at all?
I'd also like to throw my lot into this, as well.
@Prosaic Color me interested!
Shot you a message!
"Forty years ago, London was stolen by bats."

"Fallen London: once capital of the British Empire, now home of the Bazaar. Deep. Dark. Expensive. Marvellous. Here you can find everything from immortality to unnervingly good mushroom wine."

"The Bazaar stole London three decades ago. Of course only anarchists and revolutionaries say 'stole' any more. Everyone who matters has grown to know and love the status quo. It's quiet down here. All those jewels and mushrooms and all that black water. What could be better?"

London. The Fifth City. Years ago, it stood proudly as the jewel of Britain, only to be dragged to the Neath when the Traitor Empress signed it all away. Things work strangely down here, now, away from the harsh rays of the sun and the blinding blue of the sky. Death doesn't quite work the way it should, anymore. Strange beasts lurk in the deep Underzee. And now there's those Masters, those cloaked, hunched...certainly not gentlemen, who have their hands in all sorts of trades.

But that isn't to say it isn't nice down here, no. There's all sorts of new goodies and delights to be found, deep in the dark. With a spoonful of honey, you can be whisked to the land of dreams. There are freedoms from moralities, and beliefs, and norms, and a wealth of new opportunities. For every terror and maddening thought, there's some reason why scores of people come down to London on the regular.

Perhaps you'll be one of them.

Welcome, Delicious Friend.

Who are you?
Hello, everyone. My name's Echo. I'm a 22 year old living in the US, coming back to this website after a period of extended hiatus. I know this is a shot in the dark, but I was hoping to find someone willing to do a Fallen London RP with me. It's a fairly niche game, so I've found that most people don't know about it, but it's a delightful setting that I'd love to share with other people.

I'm looking for someone preferably 18 or older. Fallen London does have a few mature themes to it, and I'd feel more comfortable writing things out with someone around my age range. However, if you're looking for someone to write out explicit scenes with you, unfortunately you've come to the wrong place. I have no problem writing up to the point, but when it comes down to it, I prefer to fade to black or blur rather than write out the nitty gritty.

What is this?

Fallen London is a free-to-play browser game that wound up getting expanded into other spinoff games, such as Sunless Seas and Sunless Skies. It's a delightful gothic horror with all sorts of strange, surreal elements, and a lot of inspiration taken from Lovecraft and other such writers. It's a colorful setting with a lot of lore, but if you've never played it or don't know much about it, then you're still more than welcome to join! I'd recommend writing a character new to the Neath so you can learn alongside your OC, but that's just a recommendation. I mostly just want to write this out with someone, whether they know the setting or not.

If you have any questions, feel free to let me know. I'm more than happy to fill you in, and I can talk people's ear off about this subject.

What am I looking for?

Just someone willing to play the setting with me, honestly. As I mentioned, I'm looking for someone 18 or older for my own comfort, and one that's alright with not writing out explicit scenes. I'm open to writing romance, but the main OC I have in mind is female and prefers men, so do keep that in mind. I'm more than happy to roleplay platonic friendships, rivalries, or anything else, really. Depending on how well we click, I might also bring in other OCs as well.

How should you contact?

Feel free to post in this thread, or DM me. I usually prefer to roleplay through DMs, but I can be flexible depending on the preference of my RP partner.

Regardless, if this interests you, feel free to let me know! Whether you're a FL veteran, or someone brand new to the setting, what matters most is just having a good time.
