And there was light.

Dim but warm, unlike the unobtrusive light of the motes this light illuminated clearly what it touched, revealing the once grand hall of chambers now old, crumbling to rubble as new life grew within. There was sound, crumbling stones, the buzzing of insects, the flickering of flame, the drip of water, and the life of rats. There was feeling, the feel of a fall, and the splash of old, cold water upon the body as smooth stone caught it.

The doors swung open and one after another they fell out into the hallway, splashing as they hit the algae laden stones, the water thick with larvae and dim born plants. Lining the walls of the hall were stone chambers, tombs, that had held each of them before opening. Most of these chambers were still closed, a choice few others were open, and other still were crushed where the ceiling above had caved in under the weight of further tombs. Each stone chamber appeared to be an almost egg shaped dark coffin, with their doors cracked and crumbled. At least, the open ones were like that. The closed ones seemed more solid, as if a single stone, and the crushed ones were but piles of rubble.

The light danced along the walls, various flickering flames from mounted torches, dividing the chambers from another. Torch, tomb, torch, tomb, torch, and the skittering sound of rats amongst all of them. They squeaked, rushing from where the doors of stone broke and living bodies fell out from their stasis, the new life greeted more intimately by mosquitoes and flies. Ragged robes of different colours adorned each as they came to their feet. Green, blues, orange, and more. One would notice that the colour of their mote reflected the colour of their old garbs now. Further, they had neither keepsake nor memento from the time in the dark, they came into this world unarmed.

The flooded hall was rather narrow, wide enough for perhaps three men to stand side by side as they walked, and the water was stagnant and still, letting loose an unpleasant odor. Occasionally, a drop of water would fall from above, sliding through weathered stones to the pool around the awoken. No hole was quite large enough for a body to move through, as they were either small, or the collapsed structure closed the hole it made as well, the heavy weight crushing down upon the hall and its contents. Otherwise a growth, vines or the roots of a tree perhaps, clogged what was viable.

Off to one side was the end of the hall, a rounded dead end upon which stood a solitary statue that had fallen to disrepair with time. The upper body and torso of it were dashed upon the ground as the legs stood alone, broken and cracked behind it. Sockets, empty and scratched up lined the wall behind the statue, shallow holes where the stone was now chipped away. Each chip was mostly along the edges, further into the sockets the stone was smoother and less disturbed. The other side held more of the stretched hall for several paces, but the end was in sight where it opened into a larger chamber. The contents of the chamber could not be quite seen from the present location.
Yo dude.

You like RPs?

You like figuring shit out?

You like NOT having a "plot-critical" NPC hold your hand through shit?

You like NOT having huge exposition shat on you?

You like high fantasy?

Dude.

This is the RP for you.

But it's full so, sorry man. Maybe if someone drops.

"But what's the world like?"

Seriously? Can't tell you. Part of the point of the RP is to explore the world. I'll be going into detail on the environments and will be open for questions if you want something clarified.

"And how will we know what the history or plot is?"

Talk to people. Every NPC you run into will have a story, a life, desires, loves, hates, etc. They won't immediately trust you with them, but they're there for you to talk with. Learn about the world by talking with them, or investigating your surroundings, or reading books (if you read a book a brief blurb on its contents will be given, while I'm willing to write up stuff for any given villager you talk to, I'm not going to write entire books from the point of view of someone writing a book in the setting).

"So how will we know we like the world unless you tell us what it is?"

Can't make a promise that you'll like it. I sure do, but I'm biased. The world is based off a combination of contemporary fantasy ideas, mythology from a breadth of cultures, and of course my 'original' twist to blend them together. Those more familiar with me know that I tend to spend far too much time reading about ancient cultures than one ought, so I've got some interesting ideas, concepts, practices, and more to draw on for this hodgepodge world. However, for the sake of making it approachable, it will still be presented as a medieval fantasy world. I want the players' characters to be able to function without having to tell the players a lot about the setting, so necessary steps and shit, man.

But for real? Get hype.

Let's do this.

I only do this because Ely did a kick-ass job and her work deserves to be read:

wait

That was a link to Jorick's spamfiction, not mine.
So I started trying to write for that again today.

Didn't work.

So I looked at my notes and holy shit did I overcomplicate things.

I mean none of it contradicted, but it was just... too big a scheme and stuff for me to do. I'm not yet that good a writer to handle all of this on my own.

So I'm ending it.

I'll of course therefore reveal shit that I had planned now.

Zed was going to be torn apart in an attempt to make super soldiers. Sole isn't with BI. BI is ruled by Nex. Nex is chosen by Marduk but has that taken. Toellner was chosen by Baal, eventually ends up owning the land BI wants. Owns it instead of their proper owners due to the whole "Tearing apart chosen ones to make super soldiers to replace chosen ones". Monsters are returning, the big thing in the sky was a Thunderbird. Holmes and Hank were going to work together. Hank gets away with everything. Turt was the Tezcatlipoca chosen one, the plague was because of Brose. I was Hittite. David becomes the new ruler of Hades, Dervish the new ruler of Olympus, Jorick the new ruler of Helheim (Yorickheim now), Hades becomes the right hand man of Dervish. Ragnarok stuffs, War of Olympus, End of the World, etc. Just... too much.

SO

WHAT I AM GONNA DO INSTEAD

is start a different thing

AND KEEP IT FUCKING SIMPLE

Will it be another spamfic? I dunno. Will I write and host it here? Maybe. Just thought I'd let you know. Thank you for reading along as much as you have. It was fun writing it while it lasted, and I'm kicking myself for ruining it for not only me, but everyone.

Actually, something I've felt with NuGuild's RPs (at least the ones I've been in) is that if they get rolling, they seem to have a longer life. I've been in a couple that are months old and still going. I never had that on old Guild. RP Death has seemed to decrease from my personal experience. I think it's less 'problems with standards' and more 'problems with players', because I've gotten in good with some good RPers, and games with them just stick around :D

Did... Did you just call Elendra's mom is a gold digger??

It's funny because my mom comes from more money than my dad. If it was a money thing she stepped down instead of up

Maybe he's wealthy or some crap like that.

If so, whoever employed him has shitty taste.

I wish we were wealthy, but no we're like, upper middle class at best?

Actually, I'll be frank, I don't know what our income bracket is because in some ways I'm told to be super frugal but then I see other people with access to the same money as me will randomly go and do a stupid big purchase and it's like "wait do we have money or not, you're not being clear"

My dad's a manager or something at the company he works at, and apparently his managing style is profitable for them.
