Obsessed with Disney, Hamilton, Heathers, and Wicked. Earworm cannot ridden off permanently. I'd probably play "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story" in my funeral. For Good is Too Good! Elphaba!
Silent relief flooded within Caitlyn upon hearing Wren's amicable reply and seeing her widening smile. There was always a chance that she'd be turned away or glared at upon intruding on someone else's personal space. She and Benjamin shared such tendency, anyways, and Benjamin just had the higher chance of being welcomed courtesy of being an adorable and fluffy dog. "Did you hear that? Wren says you're cute and you made her laugh." Caitlyn gave him an exaggerated thumbs up. "Good boy!" Benjamin barked excitedly on the other side of the window in reply, sitting on the pavement with his tail still wagging in the air.
Upon noticing her own weirdness, Caitlyn cleared her throat before digging in her own soup. Yum. Delicious. When Wren mentioned her sickness, a worried frown marred Caitlyn's face. "You too? I had it--" Caitlyn jerked up in her seat upon hearing a loud sneeze, her face flushing in embarrassing red at her own jumpiness. She turned around and narrowed her eyes at the man who she thought was responsible for a loud sound before turning back towards Wren. She cleared her throat again. "I had one, too. My roommate got sick too when he took care of me. I don't know where it came from, though. I didn't get into contact with someone sick before that all happened."
Either way, @Blizz, if you decide to put it on hold or push through it, you can count on me to be one of your players. So you already have one solid player here, if you'll have me. Just, remember to PM me or alert me. I'm not a psychic so... >.>
Jewels shone on the ocean's surface, every wave making the sea glitter in orange diamonds. Clouds drifted by almost lazily, the whole sight accompanied by the sounds of seagulls cawing as they flew around aimlessly. Caitlyn's short black hair was ruffled by the chilly evening breeze, dark brown eyes almost golden as it stared at the beautiful setting sun. The glint disappeared in her eyes as her hands lifted the camera in front of her face and peered through its viewfinder. Fingers found the trigger and she pushed, eliciting a quiet click as the image was captured. She pulled it away from her face and stared at the display. Her lips tugged downwards in dissatisfaction as she saw that the image didn't hold the calmness that the view in front of her showed.
A bark cut off Caitlyn's musing, her head tilting down to see the fast wagging tail and lolling tongue of her dog, Benjamin. He barked again, bounced and spun around, chasing his tail before looking up with that slight tilt in his head that just looked positively adorable. "Fine, fine." Caitlyn's lips pulled up in amusement as she bent down, rubbing Benjamin's head, before pulling herself up and tugging the leash gently to prompt her dog to walk.
Her thoughts drifted, something that was uncomfortably common this last few days. It was probably because of that damned fever that almost took her into an early grave. To this day, she didn't know what triggered it. She didn't come into contact with anyone sick before that and she knew it was contagious, considering she got Jude infected. It still filled her with guilt, remembering her friend just weaken in sickness and that Caitlyn didn't have the strength to help as the fever took its toll. Both of their dogs just whined in despair, more so in Benjamin's case, doing their best to comfort their human friends with a healthy (or unhealthy) dose of hand licking.
Another bark distracted her, followed by the persistent tugging of the leash in her hand as she watched Benjamin excitedly took off in the direction of the diner. "I'm coming, I'm coming." She murmured, increasing her pace. Caitlyn didn't feel like cooking tonight, mostly because home right now reminded her of too many unfortunate things. For example, she could turn into a cat now. For some reason. That was indescribable. It was only a fortunate thing that she only turned into a cat in the confines of her home without Jude being present and not while in public spaces. Either way, being at home meant the threat of changing and Caitlyn didn't feel like eating dog food again.
In their slightly brisk pace, it only took her and her small dog ten minutes before they arrived at the diner. Caitlyn knelt in front of Benjamin, stroking his fur before opening her bag, producing two bowls -- one containing dog food and the other, water. "Bark if you see suspicious people, 'kay?" She advised with an amused smile before entering the diner. She went to the bar, surprisingly empty considering the time of day but it could just be because she missed the rush or the rush was just about to arrive.
Despite knowing the menu at heart, Caitlyn perused through its selections and immediately felt her mouth water as she read tuna sandwich. She straightened uncomfortably in her seat before snapping the menu shut and readied herself to order. A co-worker took sight of her and they immediately conversed, ranging from 'how are you' to 'there's this one customer and you just won't believe what they did'. Just as Caitlyn was about to order, her co-worker just cooed, tapping her arm.
"Benj is just so cute. Look at him!"
Caitlyn looked and saw that her dog was looking through the window, paws on the clear surface as he stood on his hind legs, tail wagging happily as he barked. What was interesting was that he wasn't looking at her but at the patron sitting next to the window staring at a cup of tea. Her eyes narrowed as she recognized not only the woman, but of her general demeanor. It was like how she imagined herself to look like while sick. What was worrying was that Wren made a pretty sweet hot chocolate and without her, hot chocolate wouldn't just be the same.
"Hey Dule." Caitlyn called to her co-worker. "Today's chicken noodle soup, right?"
"Yep. Want that?"
"Two, actually. One for me and for Wren over there." She jabbed her thumb in said woman's direction. "I think she's going to need it."
"It'll be in five."
"Got it. Oh, and I'll get the tray."
While waiting for the food to arrive, she went to the washroom to wash her hands. The food actually didn't take long to arrive and Caitlyn, with one arm occupied in holding the tray of food, walked towards Wren's table and knocked lightly on its surface.
Caitlyn greeted Wren with a smile, sliding the bowl of soup on the table and proceeding to sit across her. "I hope Benjamin wasn't annoying you. Sometimes, he thinks him being adorable excuses him from intruding on people's spaces."
“I swear to all that’s holy, if this is another jump scare, I’m going to hurt you.”

Occupation: Darkwell Community College Student; works part-time as a waitress in Darkwell City Diner
Relationships: Caitlyn’s roommate is Jude Marshall. In her opinion, she thinks they have a pretty warm friendship, if friendship meant sharing dog food between their pets and having her and Benjamin fawn over Charlie. Jude is usually quiet so Caitlyn converses minimally with him as to not discomfort him by pushing too much. She was a bit intimidated by him at first but upon seeing his fondness with Charlie, his likes in watching cooking shows, and his amazing singing voice (she's slightly jealous, by the way), she's quick to warm up to him. In fact, she thinks of Jude as her older brother in all but blood. Not that she'd say that out loud, of course. That would bring embarrassment and awkwardness.
Caitlyn is an acquaintance of Wren Faulkner. She frequents the Darkwell Mocha for its fabulous hot chocolate she always order no matter the time of day with an unhealthy helping of sweet pastries. She also seldom sees Wren stalking the halls of Darkwell College, at times with a dangerous expression on her face when not holding the familiar cup of coffee.
Caitlyn works in Darkwell City Diner and has Garrett Fischermann as her boss. She's scared of him due to his intensity in the workplace and the fact that he is her boss. While she’s aware that she won’t get fired for a single mistake, Garrett seems to have that kind of presence where she’d rather avoid having said mistake. That’s just her opinion, however.
Abilities: Caitlyn's magic is Metamorphosis. She learned that she has her magic when she woke up under the heavy mass of her blanket and felt more than saw that she had four legs and covered in black fur being licked in the face by her dog -- Benjamin. She finds her magic strange, weird, and reality-defying, making her hate having and using it. Unfortunately, she has the tendency to shape-shift accidentally and has no choice but to practice turning back.
Personality: Caitlyn likes to have fun, be it partying with other people or curling up in her bed with books in hand. She's amiable to strangers and friends alike, not hesitating to help people in need. When she's the one who needs help, she's not beyond asking her parents or friends for it. Still, she'd rather exhaust all her options first before asking other people. Her short temper is not well-known, however, due to her warm and welcoming personality. When she sees someone's being harassed or violated, Caitlyn would be likely to damn the consequences and throw herself in the situation even without knowing anything about it. After all, it's better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.
Biography: Caitlyn never had a single place to call home, though that’s not always a bad thing. Her father an avid photographer and mother a skilled painter, they moved pretty much everywhere their passions led them -- be it having a roadtrip from one place to the other or having to ride a boat or a plane to another country. This made her have some acceptable knowledge in some languages though she’s in no means fluent. This constant travelling, while fun and adventurous, was still filled with longing. Caitlyn didn’t have childhood friends like the other kid did, no person near her age to confide in about her troubles. As if in a way to compensate for that shortcoming, Caitlyn became this child full of smiles and confidence to lure in the affection and attention of others. She’s quick to adapt to the wants and needs of her new friends, making her rather popular with the students. This has its own consequences, however. People don’t like changes and her arrival in the school usually spells such a thing. It might as well be her middle name.
While in her first year in high school in a new town, Caitlyn pulled in some unfortunate attention from serious bullies who had mastered the subtle art of oppression. She pushed through it with a dazzling smile the whole fall semester and hoped that it would end after winter break. That optimism was shot down when she returned to school only to receive an unforgettable and unforgivable offense that was her bag filled with melting snow, fizzing out her electronics and soaking her books and her precious drawing pad. Her temper broke; her calm vanished. Knowing who the perpetrators were, Caitlyn immediately dispensed her own justice by breaking their nose and bloodying their face with the helping of her fists. While that had led to a week-long suspension and a month of detention, she wasn’t bothered again. It definitely helped that she’d be long gone when her freshman year ended and be enrolled into another school in a different town. Her parents weren't pleased, both with her and the students, but they focused their ire on the bullies upon understanding Caitlyn's reasoning.
Of course, good things come to an end. It was time for Caitlyn to settle down to take post-secondary schooling and it wasn’t as easy to change towns like it did in her childhood. Her parents understanding this, they offered to help pay Caitlyn’s tuition as long as she did good in school and didn’t waste their money. Appreciative of this, Caitlyn accepted their offer and settled in Darkwell. Due to its scenic location, tight knit community, and general quietness, Caitlyn came to love the town, treasuring its homey feel.
Caitlyn never had a single place to call home, though that's not a bad thing. Her father an avid photographer and mother a skilled painter, they moved pretty much everywhere her parents' passions led them. She came to learn early on to cherish the present and relish the moments presented both happy and sad. Home, for her, is the people who loves her unfailingly. Still, while her childhood was fun, reality demands that she stay in one place for her college courses. Caitlyn settled in Darkwell because of its scenic location and tight knit community. It has only been a year and she loved it already, treasuring its homey feel.
Others: Caitlyn hates the supernatural with a passion. Once, when she was little, her mother and father played a prank on her. Her father edited a picture to show a ghost standing next to her and her mother played along perfectly. So utterly convinced, Caitlyn avoided horror stories to the point she’d walk out whenever she suspects a commercial or a show to have a hint of scary ghosts in them. Even when her parents told her that it was just a joke, the concept of ghosts and what unhealthy things they could do to someone has been so ingrained within her that she couldn't get past that fear.
Caitlyn adopted a dog when she moved in Darkwell -- an adorable shih tzu with white fur and brown ears and eyes -- for companionship and mainly to mask her paranoia when she hears a sound that freaks her out.
In her spare time, she likes to take pictures and draw, giving her the habit of carrying a camera, notepad, and pencil wherever she goes. It has elicited escapades at the most unusual times, braving the midnight sky just to capture a single moment. Recently, due to recent reports about strange things happening at night, Caitlyn has instilled her own curfew for her own safety.
She also has a horrible singing voice, doing the songs she sings a serious injustice. At least she's good in dancing.
Caitlyn has a driver's license but due to that incident where she brought her mother and father for a joyride in her parent's car, she was told to never drive anymore. She didn't mind, exactly, since bus was cheaper anyways and a car was too expensive to maintain.
She plays video games, as most people do in this age. She likes role-playing games with amazing story and racing games, specifically Need For Speed.
Caitlyn's a horrible flirt when drunk. Dude or dudette, she'll hit on you if she's too far gone.
