I had more, but my complaints were deflected by tweaks you made to the rules.

But yeah. ;) Listen to me while I'm sixteen and know everything. Not trying to cramp your style with my input bro. Just figured it was the best time to put it all out there.
I know I eanted, but none of that was stuff necessarily wrong with the idea or premise of the game so much as what I've felt would possibly improve it.
I lied.

On Source material.

I think there's been more worrying about what could happen than what does happen. If an app doesn't fit in, reject it and spray it with Raid/Thrawn (for those of you who remember him). Otherwise, why not? I mean, plenty of outside concepts are inspired by comics. Think video games, movies, novels, etc. Those that are popular tend to bring something to the table that existing franchises don't. So much, probably ninety-nine percent of what we get IC is dependant on the applicant's vision. It's up to the player to make it work. If it doesn't, we'll just bug Ruby 'til she deletes it all.

EDIT: I really do have some good DD arcs up my sleeve though, not a rehash of something you've read before. Because, at the end of the day, Matt Murdock is an attorney responsible for dealing with his own costumed friends and enemies.

E2: Manga basically is comics with different cultural influenxes anyway. Even if they were mostly designated to be bound to Asia, they'd still be bringing something new to the games as long as they fit in with real physics and hairstyles.
Okay, my turn. The following are my own opinions and are really likely to clash against everyone elses.

I found the extensive lore actually quite enjoyable. I may be in a minority, but thats not new. Lore doesn't take away opportunities, it gives you something to build on. The hard part about it is figuring out what exists in classical continuities that you can't shoehorn into the new one. I've taken to a new philosophy. Never tell the same story twice. That's why things get dull for me, seeing the same passionate startups. Naturally I rush to Daredevil out of habit simply because I like him. When I try to do something new its heretical, when I do something normal its redundant. So I don't do anything.

A problem I have with reimagining characters in the ultimate style is the fact that you're supposed to avoid OCs. Like, I've never seen an original supporting character. The problem with this is twofold. On the one hand, if you use too many relevant existing characters (for convenience: ECs) then you're stepping on people's toes by creating excessive continuity and holding up a characyer someone else may have an idea for. On the other, if you avoid using names and just stick to nameless NPCs your writing becomes dull. The characters for your stories are limited by the popularity and exposure to publishing and various corporate writers have touched on them while your own creativity is second.

You can only meet so many people. The spirit of the game doesn't have to be: create an endless list of OCs to seem creative. But allowing that dangerous level of freedom would really give everyone a fair shot of telling a great story about a C-List character and making them one of the greats. Naturally the gamemaster exists to guide progress, but also to stop players from derailing the game. I'd like to see this particular freedom. Make relevant original, supporting characters for those who don't have a thousand enemies and dozens of sidekicks/heirs to the mantle. This would make every single PC important without relying on whoever holds reins over the JL/Avengers to detail the world.

I actually had a game pitch worked out for that above.

Next: Events!

Love them or hate them, events are a staple of comics now. Have the games reflect that by splashing around in the tub. The possibilities are one of the charms of comics. Let's think about this. Sure having the CSA arrive is dramatic. But what if instead of turning evil, everyone turned into Lego's for a week? Then the NewEr Gods/inhabitants of Grant Morrison's fifth world finally show up. Just because events happen on a wide scale doesn't mean the status quo has to change entirely afterwards. I just wish that we could get to the big events faster and get them over with. But in general I'd like for a lot of mini-events to appear rather than a thousand earth-shaking ones. Just keeps it personal.

I have to go back and forth on whether or not I like RPing superheroes at the moment. In truth, I love the concept. I'm just tired of the same old game where the past is all written out and no one can reach to the future or see it coming for a while.

Those are some of my biggest complaints with the Hype-style games I've seen.

Oh, and lastly...

I can't believe I'm actually before Sloth.
I'd need a moment with Hills on that, but I'm largely considering it. Just need a touch of catch-up.
Then you shall continue! I will handle Luigi.
You also confuse me, Face. But yes friends, I have returned for another round of teenaged antics, high powered combat, and ridiculously powerful enemies. Hopefully this time I won't be busy the days everyone else is posting and actually doing stuff.
Figures no one came looking for me.

Either Accelerate and Sentinel abandoned me or they were captured. I'm the one carrying a krypto-pistol for the ticking time bomb. Not many people are capable of apprehending the red haired powerhouse, but those that could are likely stationed out here in packs. As for the speedster, he probably would see him as a liability anyways.

Either way, I'm on my own. Not that it matters where we are. Should've figured I'd end up alone again.

Slumped against the back wall of a San Francisco coffee shop, Eric Abernathy held his breath. He'd reabsorbed his fur and other inhuman features to blend with the urban scenery. The only thing standing between himself and an indecent exposure charge was a wrinkly white T-shirt he kept in his backpack just in case he ever had to change away from his room. But indecent exposure would've been the least of all the charges he could've gotten.

Its the convenient part of being the team's resident Animorph. No one knows my face.

Giving up on the idea that anyone would be coming for him, he filed through his options before standing up and walking to the nearest street. Chopping the air roughly with an open hand he tried to wave down a ride. The handful of cars that did pass by were speeding ridiculously fast by him, understandably spooked by the recent carnage. So instead he took to a different possible solution.

Walking over to a long row of parking meters, he slid down the way until he found a motorcycle and took a seat on it. It was an incredible gem in Eric's sight because it was an abandoned motorcycle with parking tickets issued days ago. Reasoning that the owner was either gone or very likely entirely dead with no chance of ever needing it again, Eric fired it up and shot down the lanes of traffic, intending to bike to Star City.

As he rode down the streets of San Fransisco, the lead case in his backpack began to weigh heavy on his heart. Maybe I should.. lend it to Pistolera for safe keeping..

"What in THE HELL am I thinking?!?"

I probably just need some sleep.

Despite being capable of making a migration from San Fran to Star, the journey would've had more in common with a migration than a practical means of fast travel in a long-term sense. Plus, it felt kinda good to be something else. Human, he felt human with the ground so close to him. With no one around to need something more, he felt something else again. Content.
@Setheffer Welcome to Roleplayerguild!

I'm three years into it (also on and off) or five depending on how you count. I'm also into Sci-Fi. Personally I found Fantasy difficult to approach, as odd as it sounds. But I'm sure there'll be something for you. The Nation roleplay may pique your interest if you'd like some political exchanges mixed in with your high caliber action.
It's cool. I understand. Hope you're having fun with them all.

I was thinking of following the Brothers Mario themselves, @Gowi. After a bit though I think we could branch out and set more characters in the spotlight. I just don't know where to start otherwise. Would you rather play Mario or Luigi? That is, assuming we go with the former.
