An order of moon-dwelling astronaut knights steeped in conspiracy wouldn't be out of bounds for this game would it?
@Morden Man You're dating a mutant! That's so cool. Oh.. that was Ex-Girlfriend, not X-Girlfriend.
Not that my opinion counts or anything silly like that, but I am totally pro-Transformers. The Doctor actually fits in fairly nicely, in my opinion. And time travel is regulated by the GMs anyway. Can't really imagine Transformers ruining anything, and I think it seems silly to reject a sheet because of (deniable) applications others may make later. [/Rant]

March 21st 2005
New York City

"Kyle Rayner of Sector 2814, you have the ability to overcome great fear. Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps."

"My BIKE!!!"

Immediately, a green membrane swallowed Kyle and began to float skyward. It was like being airlifted except there was no way he could fall off or even sway with his supports. First the people on the congested inner city streets disappeared beneath him into a giant amoeba in a maze, then the buildings faded into tiny parallelling scratches, and finally the city itself was differentiated from the distant countryside by the sheer amount of light pollution.

His familiar home was being replaced by the shockingly familiar yet remote image of the globe, something he never expected to see with his own eyes. Without warning, his course changed and he took a 90 degree turn, or something to that effect, and he felt himself whip around a 'corner' before accelerating in that direction. With a pitch black blanket behind it, the sun looked brighter than it ever had. Scrambling through his pockets, Kyle snatched out his Motorola before flipping it open and snapping a picture for back home.

Then he accelerated again. It looked like someone had dumped a box full of glitter from the sky and spun him in a chair as he was pulled up away from the solar system. At this speed, Kyle found it extremely likely that this would be the onset to a seizure more than a television could ever be.

"Is anyone there?" he cried, half-scared and halfway curious.

Then his ring chirped before generating a green hologram that stood directly in front of his face. "Yes, Lantern Rayner, you're five Earthling minutes from Oa. Your training will..."

The being's speech disintegrated in Kyle's mind when he finally processed the first clause of the greeting. Lantern? Oh! Of course, like the Green Lantern! Ohmigod. He snatched his hand with the ring over to his face before closing it into a tight fist. It was a Lantern symbol, much like the circle with a bar on either side he'd been so familiar with. But the stylization of his emblem was more.. Geometric. In place of his circle was a hexagon sandwiched between a pair of polygons.

While he was admiring the design of his own ring and musing to himself, debating on how he could alter the aesthetics himself or make it a bit sharper, he was snapped back to reality by the disappearance of the greeter. The dense fog of empty space had lurched back in place, warranting a yelp from the unsuspecting youth.

More stars passed by, and as much as it was mindblowing, he'd already been done being bedazzled by them and more anxious about what was waiting for him at the journey's end.

Then a green planet popped up centrally in his view. It was brighter than Earth had appeared moments before. This was beyond interesting, the emerald orb was spectacular. Its surface was painted with streaks bright and dark, chasing one another, crossing. The image was breathtaking, inspiring, invigorating, and above all it was kinetic with green flashing like lightning.

To Kyle's right was another Lantern, the same one he'd encountered a moment prior via the hologram. In person it was less green, rather white. More outstanding was the fact that it resembled a flying seal and escorted him down into the planets atmosphere. Kyle watched its mouth snap and expected to hear barking like a dog, but instead it was a concise greeting. "Welcome to Oa, Lantern."

Character you have created: Ariel Scotch
Alias: Astroknight
Speech Color: Regular with Darkkhaki coloring
Character Alignment: Hero
Identity: Secret

Character Personality:
Ariel is fiercely independant, paranoid and prone to imagining worst case scenarios. Despite seeing himself as a genuine villain in retrospect, he likes to set his best foot forward towards helping the weak. He has no pity for bullies. however considering himself one, he perpetuates a cycle of surrendering to fate with acts of cruelty and is willing to sacrifice himself if he sees a need. His curiosity often leads him to defy orders from the people with authority over him, causing them to think him unreliable and whimsical when he simply has a problem communicating his feelings.

While being insubordinate, he is also not necessarily a grade-A leader despite a gift for strategy. He often assumes that others are as capable of reacting as quickly to changing circumstances as himself. The amount of detail he uses when talking is thought by some to be unnecessary and by others to be annoying.

Uniform/costume:
Very similar to this [url=misslizz.deviantart.com/art/Buzz-Light... The armor he wears is very flexible, yet wholly airtight and has several conjoining pods, scales, and joints throughout. His color scheme consists of a dull green, white, greys, and a hint of amethyst. The only major differences are a razor-thin green face mask that he wears when outside a breathable atmosphere and a jetpack with a pair of extendable wings propelled by an afterburner and rockets on the tip of each.

Origin Info/Details:
On July 20 1969, the United States Government sent the crew of the Apollo 11 into space. In truth, they faked footage of the moon landing. But that doesn't mean they didn't set foot on the moon that day.

January 4 1959, the Soviets had intended for Luna 1 to impact on the surface of the moon. Instead they were surprised by it being shot by kinetic blasts that threw it off course and out of geocentric orbit. Shortly afterward they followed up with Luna 2, not encountering any similar trouble and successfully landing on the moon. Before long they found footprints, leading to a highly concentrated, subterranean alien congregation.

In 1947, a pair of alien priests visited New Mexico before being captured by the United States government and studied. Their shuttle, too, was confiscated before being reverse engineered. By 1953, their language had been interpreted and taught to several humans who sustained the imprisoned sentients. The ministers had come from the moon, intending to convert the human race to a religion composed of servitude toward the lord of the moon in exchange for salvation.

The American government sent a handful of human diplomats/soldiers to the moon, along with an adequate supply of weaponry, just in case. Contact was made with the lunar locals before an agreement for peace was made, a small amount of them being allowed to stay on Earth while a matching number of Earthlings were allowed residence on Lunar soil.

By the time the Russians arrived thanks to their lunar program, a variety of extra-terrestrial outlaws began using the lunar religious sanctuaries as an escape from pursuing interstellar authorities. When these made their way to Earth, they were executed. Therefore, it was determined that the Earth needed protectors, who were delivered in the year 1969.

Thus the international AstroKnights program was launched. A collaboration between NASA, the CIA, and various other agencies would produce a small but effective force of police who'd work in conjunction with the Lunar locals before eventually breaking contact with Earthling authorities altogether in the nineteen eighties.

The original AstroKnights were Keith Henderson, an all American accompanied by his international companions Jackson McCallister, Leroy Amos, Vladimir Hoffman, and Abigail Delainie. Over the years they recruited several other human initiates and a small crew of inhuman trainees before their numbers peaked at 235.

Generations later a new Astroknight has been trained, a Russian-American named Ariel Scotch, an orphan raised by the various elder knights. Given that the Astroknights presently have a surplus of members, Ariel had been filed as a reserve member to be contacted when his assistance is required. As a means of still protecting the mother world, he's set out to find otherworldly beings and investigate anomolies.

Hero Type: Normal (Technology/Training)
Power Level: World/Cosmic
Powers:
Ariel has been put through a rigorous process of developing a perfect martial arts routine to suit his body's build and mentality. Accordingly, he tends to be very keen on movement, tracking the flows of an enemy's weight, spying out his gravitational center, and using their own movement against them. When the opportunity presents itself, he dashes towards a cheap shot. He is very nimble, even with all of his equipment on, and can outmaneuver opponents leaner and less muscular than himself.

The mainstays of his arsenal are a wrist mounted laser, releasing a blinding, burning green beam, and a specially designed cross between a sickle and sword based on the Ancient Egyptian/Canaanite Kopheshes. Unlike the ancient weapons, Ariels model can run either extreme heat or an electric current through them, as well as being extremely durable. The kophesh is designed to be able to parry other weapons such as greatswords or axes, with the exaggerated curve in its backside making it easy to snap and later disarm an opponent's melee weapons.

His suit also includes environmental functions that can transform many substances, even dark matter, into air and negate some gravitational differences between atmospheres. On his back rests a jetpack (with expandable wings to enhance mobility) powered by either rockets on a limited fuel supply, or a pair of twin ion engines.

Also worth noting is a space cruiser in his possession. He has also learned a variety of languages, including English, Spanish, Russian, French, and the language of the Lunar people. He has a cache of specialty gadgetry, forensic and tactical gear, as well as access to the resources of the Astroknights at their main lunar base.

Attributes:
Strength Level: Normal Human
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Normal Human
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Normal Human
Agility: Normal Human
Intelligence: Genius
Fighting Skill: Trained/Mastered
Resources: Large

Weaknesses:
Despite being a cliche, Ariel is only human. He isn't quite at the peak of natural human strength, but could be outmuscled considerably easily and beaten into a puddle if he were caught off guard by a superhuman. His armor is bullet resistant, but some infamous weapons are capable of penetrating his protective shell.

Supporting Characters:
Akkedo - God of the Lunasians
Captain Earl Delainie - Head of the Astroknights
General Beige Deklin - General, Elder Knight
Dahij - Lunasian prophet, Head of state
No Relatives Known ~ Will be filled in as I go

Ariel Scotch stood in the entryway of a prison chamber beside an elder knight. The entire room was a flourescant, sterile shite color void of any personality. The only hint that Scotch hadn't gone entirely colorblind was the blue-green tint to their prisoner's skin. These Lunasians, as the native species had been designated back in the 1950s by American biologists, had a grey tone to their flesh and more wrinkles than a grandpa stepping out of a bath tub.

"Now, Mr. Badhed, did you have any involvement with the attempted assassination of Dahij the Prophet?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," the subject gargled. "I love Akkedo and his prophet."

"Perhaps we could jog your memory," the elder knight suggested. "Ariel, be a dear and bring me the blinding stick on that tray."

Walking over to a swiveling platform that looked like it had been taken from a dentists office, Ariel reached past several shorter instruments before coming to a slender curved rod attached to a hose that slipped into the wall, slithering out as Ariel delivered it to the elder knight. When his elder took it, he clicked a button on the top before a concentration of green light gathered at its tip, forming a swelling ball.

"Now, are you sure that you can't shed any light on the recent event?"

Trembling, the subject squealed a "No" while huffing and puffing in terror. His answer, like his trebulation, did him no good as the swollen green ball of light was pressed into his eye, rendering him wholly incapable of sight on that eye. He howled and writhed in pain. Now, his second eye was wincing and sealed shut, but his third was side open, spread apart by the inquisitors fingers.

"Last chance? Nothing's coming back to you is it?"

"NOOO! BY AKKEDO, NOO!"

At that, Ariel left the room. He'd seen inquisitions before, they were never pleasant and he wasn't particularly fond of conducting them. He held a value beyond appreciation for the truths they sometimes unveiled, but didn't have any stake in watching.

Lazy. Sometimes the elder knights would say he was lazy because he wanted the fruits of the interrogator's labor. He just saw constant involvement unnecessary when he could be considering other avenues towards finding justice. More so, it was well understood that such questionings sometimes caused deceit and lies to blossom anyway. Sometimes, the brutality made himself question the people he worked with and his trust in them. But today in particular, the interrogations were very necessary.

If one assassinated Dahij, the priest, Akkedo may be tired of not being able to communicate. And if Akkedo were unable to communicate, he may grow angry and simply destroy the moon. If the moon was destroyed, the Earth would follow.
@Sloth I personally like the sheets that are detailed but find them tedious to write and sometimes difficult to work with (though I think I'm getting quite used to it), not always. I didn't mean to say that yours was too long to enjoy reading, but I'd rather read GA posts. Y'know? Of course you do.

I ain't here for politics y'all. I just really like the layout for Face's abilities and goal sections. Forgive me if I sound like a hipocrite. Its just how I roll.
Face, you've set a new standard I would like to reach when it comes to Character Sheets. Great job!
Can I get a summary of recent events? There's something I want to try..
Nate? You mean the guy dressed like Batman with hockey pants?

Edit: Get it, cuz he's Canadian and has a Batman avatar... I suck at jokes.
