Post Six: Esailia
The body builder shifted his weight uncertainly, before taking a few steps back "I ain' gonna fergit this. An' you!" He pointed at the girl "If'n I ever catch ye again, yer no' gonna have anothar free ride." The man walked slowly back around the corner, disappearing from sight.
The girl sighed in relief once the man was gone, but she quickly looked back to Theos. She appeared around her teens, certainly nothing saying she was an adult. One thing might have stood out, however...a collar around her neck. It looked custom made for her. It was a white with faux fur lining poking out from the edges in a tiny intricate pattern. A loop in the front had a single tag on it, reading "Esa kitten". The girl stared up at Theos for a few seconds longer, before moving around to sit on her heels, head bowed slightly as she rested her hands on her thighs. She still did not attempt to speak...
Seventh Post: Dazed
These were the only words to respond to the leaving male. "I ever see you again. This arrow will not stay notched in its bow-string." Theos waited a few minutes after the man left before he put away his bow. He noticed the collar and the young age of the girl, also her lack of speech. Swinging his bow over to its rightful spot, he rested his right hand on his waist/belt. This was so his hand was in quick reach of his knife. Standing there for a few minutes he waits to see if the girl even speaks enough to say thanks. As the silence persists he sighs and starts walking, resuming the path he was traveling before. The house he was staying at before had no supplies in it. This meant is was that time that Theos migrated to another spot to sit at for a couple days, or shorter if circumstance permitted it.
While he walked passed the young girl. He couldn't help but say a few last words. If she decided to pursue it or listen, that would be her prerogative. "First notion I get of you trying to harm me. I will not hesitate to end you. Like I did generously for that man." In all honesty he had no idea why he didn't kill the man. Truth was he should of fired as the man turned his back and left, finishing the problem then on. Maybe it was the possibility of having to fight the man right there? Or causing a ruckus loud enough to cause those monsters to take notice? Theos had no idea and he wasn't going to spend the foolish time probing his thoughts to discover why. So he simply kept walking, keeping his peripherals dedicated to his surroundings. He couldn't directly see the girl. But would of known if she gotten up and followed him or not.
Eighth post: Esailia
The girl, Esa, didn't move for a few moments as the stranger spoke, listening intently before she noticed he had started to walk away. It caused her to bolt upright and stumbled after him, staying a few steps behind him with her head bowed, if he glanced back at her. Still not speaking, and with his attention elsewhere, she simply followed and kept her footfalls as quiet as she could make them.
Running, screams all around, the sound of a young man's voice saying something about a bunker...
Tripping, the concrete rushing up. Blood slowly pooling to the right. The young man helping her up...
Thunks, smashes, and grunts. The young man screaming to run. Shaking her head and running towards him...
Strong arms stopping her, pulling her back...
Blackness...
Her mind wandered as they walked, going back to when this nightmare all began. She only had fleeting memories from that day, and she couldn't put them together coherently. Due to her thoughts, she wouldn't notice if the man spoke to her or stopped suddenly.
Ninth Post: Dazed
Theos simply kept walking, his mind rather blank as he went forward towards the destination he held no clue of. His lack of thought was due to being more cautious of his surroundings. Theos never tended to be as alert when he was mind deep in thoughts. Every so often he would look back to see if Esa was still following, which she was. Somewhere long down the road as they traveled through the suburbia Theos broke silence by speaking. "You can call me Theos. If your choosing not to try and kill me and pick to share my company instead. Why not at least try an' start conversation?" Theos looked back momentarily but didn't stop walking, waiting for her response to his question or comment. The longer time went on without her responding, until the point he sighed and said. "The road will be long, even more-so without something to pass time."
Every house they passed in the suburbs, Theos examined rather quickly but closely from afar. He was grading and judging houses by look, condition, and possible threat and inhabitant levels. His goal was to find a house that looked semi-safe and the least signs of inhabitants possible. It was bad enough this little girl was following him around. But hey, maybe Theos needed company of someone else. Simply having another human being around to possibly converse with could be health for Theos. However a large part of him would never allow himself to go off-guard around others. This is due to the massive scar over his right eye.
Tenth post: Esailia
The girl glanced up at Theos when he spoke, wringing her hands together as he commented about her lack of talking. She glanced down for a few moments, watching her shoes as she walked, before catching up with him. She fumbled with the tag on her collar, almost tiptoeing as she showed Theos what was etched on it; "Esa kitten". Being this close, the man would get a good look at the collar as well as her face. The collar was snug around her neck, but it didn't restrict her breathing. The fur lining was clearly fake, and the loop had scratches in the gold covering, showing its age.
The loop wasn't the only thing that had scratches. Esa had cuts and bruises across her face. Small, but visible this close. Her hands would also have little cuts and scratches, and her clothing looked old, with stray bits all over as if she had walked through a briar bush.
