@ImportantNobody Alright, thanks.

Name:
Y00-17 or 'Metalhead'

Age:
10 (Since activation)

Gender:
N/A; Prefers the pronoun 'he'

Race:
Faera-designed Multi-purpose Naval Droid

Homeworld:
Liorea

Position:
Fighter Pilot

Personality:
Y00-17 is formal and well-mannered, much like the Matriarchy he was created by. Metalhead was built to be fiercely loyal to the Faera people; his loyalty emanates to his new crew and associates as well. When Y00-17 first came off the production lines, he had the bare minimum of information installed in his primary memory storage unit. He was given only what was absolutely necessary for the completion of his duties. This lack of knowledge led Y00-17 to develop a sort of curiosity. He's constantly asking questions, seeking out others opinions on subjects as well as the objective facts on anything and everything he encounters. Metalhead's thirst for information is not without its drawbacks. With little to go by, he'll often accept information on new material without bothering to fact check. This naivete has led to more than one confrontation (such as the time someone told Metalhead that alcohol kills people, and Y00-17 proceeded to burn down a local bar.)

Metalhead is inherently protective of innocent life. He has no problem ending an enemy combatant who refuses to surrender; however, Y00-17 would rather go offline than kill a prisoner or a civilian. His staunch moral code has led to numerous quarrels with more morally ambiguous commanders.

Appearance:
Y00-17 stands at exactly 6'2 and weighs 610 pounds. His exoskeleton is made mostly up of Feerilesh, although Metalhead's body also incorporates other, tougher metals for increased protection. The majority of Y00-17's important components are located in the chest region, where it is most heavily armored. The primary and secondary memory storage units are built inside the head, right behind the sensory package. Metalhead's claws and talons are quite sharp, able to pierce most flesh rather easily. When the sheer sharpness of these weapons proves not enough, Y00-17 can revert energy into superheating the tips, allowing the blades to cut through more durable materials.

Y00-17's design was inspired by Faera myth; specifically, the creature known as the Falimawe. The Falimawe was said to wander the small island of Faliohu, sister island to Kailisila. The Falimawe was said to devour any troublemakers who went to the island. The beast was said to be allergic to water. There were only two ways to avoid being eaten by the Falimawe: either perform an ancient cleansing ritual on the creature, which was said to be extremely dangerous due to the Falimawe's aggressive behavior. Or, alternatively, become a good, law-abiding citizen. After all, the Falimawe only ate troublemakers. The myth was originally made up by natives to keep the rowdy young tourists away, but over time has attracted many a young Faera looking to prove their courage. The newer generations have turned staying out in the islands jungles for an entire night alone into a trial for the uninitiated.

Abilities:
Metalhead was ranked in the top one hundred spacefighter pilots in the Faera Navy. His skills behind the stick are exemplary; few organics can match Y00-17's reaction times and accuracy. The only drawbacks being his lack of creativity when it comes to dogfighting and relatively slow mount up time. (Seeing as how Y00-17 has to download into the fighter even if he's standing right next to it, it makes sense.)

Aside from his piloting skills, Y00-17 was also designed as an anti-boarding party defense unit. He's fast on the draw and has impeccable aim in tight quarters; it isn't uncommon for Metalhead to head shot a trio of attackers who got the jump on him before they can open fire. Even when his firearm runs out of ammunition, Y00-17 is trained in Faeran close combat martial arts and is able to use his claws to great effectiveness when facing infantry of all sorts.

Y00-17 is not a robot, per se. He is more accurately described as a sapient program capable of independent thought; or an artificial intelligence. Y00-17 is able to download into any system wirelessly or via a Universal Serial Bus cable that is compatible with its code. Inter-Galactic model devices and Faera systems are the easiest to access; however, Y00-17 has been known to bypass certain security nodes in order to directly control an alien technology. Even if Metalhead's exoskeleton is destroyed, as unlikely as that is, Y00-17 could continue to live on within the Exeralune's systems alongside ANI.

Equipment:
Y00-17 wields the IG Defender, an Elzion full-automatic machine pistol with a 35 round magazine. The weapon possesses an extremely fast rate of fire and is incredible light and compact, allowing for ease of use in the commonly compact corridors of a spaceship or a spacefighter. However, the Defender's accuracy drops off considerably after 50 meters. Y00-17 carries around an attachable barrel which extends the range up to eighty meters and decreases recoil, but makes the weapon heavier and more cumbersome.

Y00-17 is equipped with a personal shield generator, designed to protect against energy weapons and explosives. Kinetic ammunition is able to pass through the cling shield; however, Y00-17's exoskeleton is tough enough to protect itself against most small arms. The biggest threats to Metalhead are armor piercing kinetic rounds, especially in shotguns or sniper rifles.

Metalhead also carries a temporary self-repair kit on his person, as well as a number of magazines for his IG Defender and backup power cores for his primary exoskeleton. The exoskeleton itself is extremely durable; capable of absorbing extreme punishment without falling. Metalhead is quite strong, too. He is able hold in own in a contest of strength against many of the more robust species. But for all its durability and strength, it is Y00-17's surprising speed and agility that makes him deadly. The enemy never consider the heavy set machine to be as quick as it is; as such, when Metalhead dashes into their ranks and reeks havoc among their infantry with his machine pistol and claws, the opposition flees in panic, confusion and terror.

Biography:
Y00-17 is a not a unique machine. He is one of tens of thousands of Multi-purpose Naval Droids designed and built by the Faera. The Y00 series Metalhead belongs to, however, only completed twenty fully operational robots before production was shifted to other priorities. 17 and the other Y00s were assigned to the 9th Frontier Fleet, who were responsible for colonizing new worlds in the name of the Queen. The Y00s were kept close together and allowed to form their own Air Wing. Metalhead and his 'brothers' swiftly made a name for themselves, claiming over two hundred kills between them within the first two li'nel of service. They operated as a single mind. A single weapon to be wielded against even the most powerful foe. Y00-17 received the nickname 'Metalhead' when he purposely crashed a severely damaged fighter into the bridge of a pirate cruiser. Somehow, the spacefighter remained active long enough for Y00-17 to open fire on anything still alive inside. A nearby Faerin commented that the pilot must have a 'metal head' to have survived that crash; not knowing that the pilot's head was literally made of metal. The name stuck, to say the least.

It has been said that an Artificial Intelligence can never die. That they are immortal. This claim is false; Y00-17 has witnessed this sad truth first hand. During a battle with one of UNT's primary rivals in the north, the Y00 Air Wing was sent straight into the heart of the enemy fleet; they were to escort the bombers to the opponent's carriers and flagship and make sure the bombers escaped to rearm. The bombers were crucial to 9th Fleet's success, after all. They had fighters in spades, however. The Y00s were not expected to return; no one would have mourned their loss if they had not. The run had been successful. Carriers were burning and the flagship was heavily damaged. But the cost had been high. Metalhead had watched as his closest companions for the better part of eight years were blown away by swarms of drones. Y00-17 fought like hell to get the majority of the bombers back to friendly space. Only two of the AIs survived that fight. Y00-2's memory core would later become corrupted by an unknown virus, leaving Y00-17 as the only Y00 series droid alive in the galaxy.

Metalhead spent the next two years hopping from command to command, causing trouble for every Faerin commander he was put under. Y00-17 didn't see himself in the wrong; he did only as he was programmed to do. But certain actions he took in the name of his higher code hindered the Fleet's progress overall. Eventually Metalhead was honorably discharged when he took a hard line stance against a particularly corrupt captain's breaking of intergalactic law. Instead of allowing Y00-17 to take these recorded events to Command, the captain blackmailed Y00-17 into willing leaving the military.

The wandering machine was recruited by UNT when they learned of his veteran status and reputable skills and morals. His first assignment was to a ship called the Exeralune, under an individual known as Hidden Eagle.
@ImportantNobody Do you have a standard spacefighter in mind for the pilots?

EDIT: I blame my cellphone.
<Snipped quote by Dedonus>

Though thank you @FacePunch for your Lore, some of the aspects were interesting and helped with that. I didn't know that was the public view on the Lost Haven police department until now, which will help me in the future btw. It also explains some stuff I was trying to understand.

<Snipped quote by FacePunch>

Blame NMS, he didn't alter that rule in the OP!

No problem. Yeah, I've been trying to build that view up since I created the speedster twins. Nobody who knows anything trusts the cops.

EDIT: I blame him. I blame him so hard. Grrr.
Speaking of lore and colliding, I actually had that problem with @Dedonus when I first started out. I had no idea he was using the Greek gods when I first wrote up Polemos. I've had to change 99% of what I wanted to do with him.

Luckily, I seem to have found a decent storyline for Chike. Others might not be so well off.

Reserving this post for my AI Starfighter pilot.
@Dedonus That's the weird thing! I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU, ATHINAR. TUHUIRSRHUISHTUIWERHR *Confusion overload*

THREE

@Athinar

Honestly, I feel his characters (Nightmare, the Good Doctor, if he is still using that character) and the stories about them are better if there is a shroud of mystery about them. If Raptorman would be forced to write lore about them, it might take away from the discover of the lore in the IC as the events unfold. Furthermore, I am sure some might not want to put the time in or might not have the time write them.

If I was heading the project, he wouldn't have to reveal any information he hasn't already revealed in the IC thread. Even then, he wouldn't be required to write anything; lore should be completely optional instead of required.
I've thought about the clone question and have yet to come up with an answer. The only options I really thought of were deep space crews and genetic research/human testing.
