Cafeteria, Lunchtime

Saqui nodded her head in acknowledgement of Brunhilde's answer, her brow furrowed as she mulled it over. "Baffin island is in Canada, right? My brother travelled there a while back" She commented, feeling as if simply nodding wasn't enough. "Sorry, I've not heard of...Tuckterjuk. Is it a big place?" Saqui asked, testing her hand at pronouncing the name of Brunhilde's home by mimicking the way she'd heard it and hoping for the best "Six years old...you must know your powers inside and out by now" She added, trying not to pile on more questions.

Which turned out well, they'd have probably been forgotten after the 'hall monitors' sudden appearance. Saqui raised an eyebrow at the...odd fellow who tapped on Brunhilde's shoulder, her eyes focusing on the old school badge sticker on his sleeve that looked as it were about to make a break for freedom. His questions stoked the fire within her as she found herself wondering what he was talking about but seeing as Brunhilde felt no need to comment on it. Saqui held her tongue...for now.

Luckily not enough to break the flow of conversation "Feather it is then" Saqui repeated looking between the two of them "I don't mind, takes more than that to offend me...it comes with the territory" She added as Gus eased up enough to continue eating through the mountain of food in front of him. Saqui prevented herself from staring by looking at the small amount of food in front of herself as she listened for his answer, absently glancing up at them both in turn as she took a few small mouthfuls from the dish in front of her.

'Blood must have something to do with medicine'

"So I take it Blood has something to do with medicine, then?"

She bit her tongue as Brunhilde beat her to it this time around with her calm approach. Saqui decided to give Gus a chance to answer before adding to it and instead spent a moment going over what she'd heard so far.

"On the medicine side, if it's hard to get over here, do you and your father use any natural remedies?" She asked "Just seems like this place would be rich with herbs and the like" Saqui added, placing her fork down and resting her arms on the edge of the table.

"That...hall monitor looked like he meant business" She finally mentioned, having waited until the conversation had gone in a completely new direction before doing so "Did something big happen yesterday?"

Crash didn't catch on to just how happy Kathy was as his text came through, he was inwardly hoping she really meant her last comment...he'd already begun dedicating her digits to memory. He did however catch her surprise at hearing that he owned a motorbike, his smile shrunk back when he realised his justifications had caused the color to drain from her face.

Glancing off to the right he reached up to rub the back of neck "Actually I had one before...I didn't bring it with me when I came here. Mercy had it taken over to England for safe keeping. It's...sentimental. So I left it over there and got another one to travel on" he admitted, peering back at her.

"As for my reasoning...I like bikes" He shrugged "I like looking at them, repairing them and riding them" With that said he chewed the inside of his mouth and looked down at his shoes. "It's okay if you don't approve, I'd understand why" He assured her, his smile returned but it was tighter than usual. Somewhat strained.
"How did you get around when you travelled?"

He hadn't expected the walk to her dorm room to be as short as it was...though he only realised this once they were stood outside. He glanced at the door as disappointment settled in the pit of his stomach flitting through a plethora of ways to stall for time. Unfortunately nothing seemed to stick, if anything the ideas were becoming increasingly absurd...'Wait, you can't go in there yet...in case the flying monkeys haven't finished cleaning...they can get real nasty if they're disturbed' not to mention ridiculous.

Puffing out his cheeks Crash opened his mouth to say something, cutting himself off as Kathy spoke first, he nodded his head and planted the most enthusiastic smile he could muster on his face. It gave way to surprise as Kathy reached out towards him, a simple brush of her fingertips and his face started to heat up again. "Y-you're welcome" He stuttered out as she turned away and hurried inside.

His hand shot up to rub the back of his neck as he took a moment to gather himself, which took him all of a second before his smile returned and he calmly walked away from her door...'I should have said it then' He thought to himself glumly. He'd wanted to say it. But he'd missed his chance to.

Whilst he tried to remember his way back, he absently tugged his phone back out of his pocket to read Kathy's message. 'Outside the ballroom?' He mused, rubbing his head as he rounded the corner 'The party...the party!' Instinctively he slapped his hand to his head...stupidly using the one holding his phone.

"Ow! Ah! Granny-Norma-that-hurt!" he exclaimed, peeling the screen off of his forehead and rubbing at the red mark it had left. Giving the phone his best Why-I-Oughta' glare, a sent message flashed across the screen.

"Huh? Say what now?" Continuing on down the hall, Crash clicked back to see what had happened and almost choked on the air.

His forehead slap had sent Kathy a ';)' face as a response to her text...blinking down at the screen, he debated whether to quickly send her another text or not 'How would that even work?!...hey, funny story, I slapped my forehead with my phone and it sent you that'

He bit his lip and turned back the way he'd come, then back the way he was going unsure whether he should go back and explain what had happened or wait until he met her outside the ballroom.

Crash held his phone at arms length, deflated with a drawn out sigh and ran a hand down his face, 'Okay, you're overreacting...'

"...It's just an emoji" He told himself, standing straight he glanced around him to make sure nobody had seen his outburst before he continued on down the corridor.

Saqui's eyebrows jolted up as she caught the tail end of the blonde giant's coughing fit, she was in two minds as to whether or not to get back up and give him a few hard slaps on the back...when it did pass she inwardly gave a sigh of relief. Noticing that his face had gone an impressive shade of red, it took a tremendous amount of effort to keep her smile from dipping towards the I-want-to-laugh end of the scale. "Thanks, Gus" Saqui quipped as she settled into her seat.

Her eyes flickered from Gus to Brunhilde, clearly intrigued by the notebook she had been scribbling in. Unfortunately her curiosity couldn't be sated with a quick peek, mainly because from where she was sat everything was upside down and her eyesight just wasn't good enough to read the girls writing. One of her brow's twitched up when she was given the hold your horses signal, though she complied without complaint. She couldn't help but squint at the notebook, trying to make out what it was Brunhilde was reading. In the short pause, she reached for her fork and peered back over at Gus noticing the ginger way he was looking between them and his food.

Turning her attention back to Brunhilde as she spoke, Saqui gave her a nod of acknowledgement coupled with a brief smile. She couldn't help but wonder why Brunhilde had searched through the notebook, which from what she saw was chock-a-block with information, before answering such a simple question. Listening to Brunhilde, she pushed her fork through the food on her plate and peeked over at the open notebook to admire the rough sketch work. Her attention was pulled away by the rather direct set of questions she was asked. Her eyes narrowed and her eyebrow twitched up questioningly as she looked up at Brunhilde.

"I'm a first year air user, myself. If you're new here, I might end up with you in some of my classes."

Though her expression softened somewhat at that snippet of news "Ditto" She chimed in with another warm yet relieved smile. Alongside this, seeing the tattoo on the air users hand settled a few of the questions floating around her mind, namely that she probably wasn't doing a piece for the school paper. Saqui had heard of Amnesia before but only a small amount, not enough to truly understand the weight of it. Lifting her fork hand up, she rested the side of her hand against her mouth and turned to look at Gus as he answered first.

"Blood element? You can manipulate blood?" Saqui blurted out, her eyes alight with curiosity as she dropped her hand from her mouth barely allowing Gus to finish what he was saying. Realising how sudden her outburst had been, Saqui cleared her throat and leant back in her chair, adopting a rather sheepish look she gingerly added "I mean, that sounds like a...nifty element". She glanced down at her untouched food, absently reaching up to push her braid back behind her ear before looking back up at Gus and then Brunhilde "Oh! I'm Saqui, Saqui Shikoba...a few people prefer to call me Feather though. I've just moved here from South Dakota"

Saqui watched for their reactions, curious as to whether either of them would attempt to pronounce her name and half expecting Brunhilde to ask how it was spelt. Allowing another breather before hand, Saqui asked"How long have you both been practising?". It was only after she'd asked that she questioned whether the small girl opposite her would have even kept track of something like that. Licking at her lower lip, she shuffled in her chair and glanced up at Brunhilde "With your elements that is. Though...Gus, if you're technically the junior nurse are you studying medicine as well?" She queried turning to Gus, her curiosity knew no bounds... and she didn't seem to know how to stagger her questions.

@Azereiah@Zelosse
@Zelosse I think nearly every post has been labeled so far ^^' I was just having a time of it keeping everything straight (Borrowing this term!) and figured asking was the best way to avoid tripping up.

@Azereiah Thanks for the help ^^ Hope it's still okay to tag in there, let me know if not <.<'
@HylianRose Still here and very interested in this ^^

Cafeteria, Lunchtime

"Maths...of all the subjects to start on" Feather lamented as she wound her way through the foreign halls of the school, courteously picking her way between the other students as she went. She stopped every now and then to ask for directions, careful not to disturb anyone playing with there powers. In return she was treated to a multitude of elemental displays; flames passed from one hand to the other, water slithering between fingers like a serpent and students levitating all manner of objects around their person....even themselves.

The majority of these tricks were small and executed perfectly but she did witness a fellow air student accidentally fling his shoe out of the window. 'I couldn't get my shoe through that window, unless I physically threw it' Then again she hadn't really tried out her power, unless making an eagle feather dance above her palm counted...it seemed pitiful compared to what the other students could do.

But hey, it was a start and the exact reason she was here! 'Someday I too, will be able to throw a shoe out of the window without touching it' She thought to herself with a grin. 'And if I'm lucky, I'll meet someone to talk to so I can stop talking to myself' It was a hard habit to kick, but at least she was talking in her mind and not out loud...with no animal in sight, it would have been a hard one to explain away.

With her mind running off on a tangent as she thought up 'good' excuses for talking to yourself, she ventured outside and over to the cafeteria. Once there, she wasted no time hopping into the line and securing herself something to eat. 'And now the age old problem of where to sit' Chances are it wouldn't have been such a problem if she'd of arrived on time...balancing her tray on one of her hands, she reached up to tuck her braid behind her ear, absently playing with one of the feathers as she scanned the cafeteria.

Her eyes were drawn to one table in particular and before indecision could seize her, she made a bee line towards it. Locking onto an empty seat across from the blonde giant and the small auburn haired girl, she rounded the table and slid her tray onto the table. "Hey, mind if I join you?" She asked, pulling her bag off of her shoulder and dropping down into the chair. "It's my first day here" She added, resting her bag on the floor beside her, she pushed her braid back behind her ear and gave them a smile. Aware that she may have interupted something, she was polite enough to pause for a brief moment before attempting to strike up or join the conversation "Have either of you been here long?" She questioned, glancing between the two of them and the tray in front of her, hopeful that her direct approach would pay off.

@Zelosse@Azereiah
Thought I'd best drop in an introduction post <.<' (Sorry for not doing so earlier!)

Also, was wondering who's characters are in the cafeteria time zone? Was planning on heading there next for some interaction ^^

After Time skip

2nd Day, Early Morning

Sacqui Shikoba had arrived at the academy late...near enough a whole day late to be exact, she'd barely had time to take everything in before the night drew in. Which was why she was up and out at the crack of dawn, eager to explore what she could before lessons started.

As the sun peeked over the horizon, Feather was sat on a grassy bank beside the river with a tattered leather journal in her lap and a pencil tucked between her fingers. The river was alive with activity in the early morning sun, it's aquatic residents lazily drifted through its depths whilst insects of many shapes and sizes danced across it's surface, illuminated by the warming rays of the morning sun. Nothing was quite as colorful as the array of dragonflies -whose size alone demanded sovereignty over the smaller insects- as they zipped to and fro. These creatures were both cautious and curious of the girl by the edge of the water, who was content with observing them from afar. Her eyes flickered left, right and center as she watched the dragonflies dip and dive through the air, showing off their impressive aerial control.

The insects weren't the only thing that caught her eye, occasionally her pencil flickered across the page, creating scruffy outlines a few of the rivers residents as they dawdled by or capturing the gentle rustle of the reeds nestled by it's banks. "I'd draw one of you, if you'd stay still long enough" She murmured under her breath as a dragonfly flashed past her eyes, before turning back to hover beside her just long enough for her to take in his majestic appearance. She was able to appreciate the intricate coloring of his slender body, the ultramarine shade of his underbelly that seemed to reach up the side of his abdomen to mingle with the electric blue casing of his back. His ethereal wings appeared as little more than a blur of movement by his side, though she tried to spot the speck of color at the tip of his wings aware of his telescopic eyes studying her whilst she studied him.

Their encounter was short lived, for in a blink of an eye, the dragonfly moved on. Dropping altitude and sweeping across the surface of the river. She tried to follow his movements but he seemed to meld into the glistening water, fading from sight faster than she'd thought possible. "Good enough" She commented, committing his image to the page in front of her. "Gotcha'...my little master of illusion" A smile lifted the edges of her mouth as she studied the rough sketch of the curious insect. "Leela ampaytu keen washtay* " She told herself closing the journal and getting to her feet.

Slipping the journal into her satchel, Feather gingerly made her way along the river bank, enjoying the soft feel of the grass and the rhythm of the earth beneath her bare feet. She had a lot to think about as she wandered towards the main building, running her fingers through her hair, she exhaled a puff of air and took in her surroundings. With time ticking on, a new layer of energy seemed to spread throughout the academy, with its content citizens setting about their daily routines and students heading out to school. Feather was in no hurry to join them, there was still so much of the academy she hadn't seen yet "Where to next?" she mused, pulling her satchel higher on her shoulder.

Unfortunately, her procrastinating was brought to an abrupt end as the bell rung, warning students that they had lessons to get to(?). 'Decision made' Feather thought as she quickened her pace and headed into the school building.

(*Today is a good day)
@Azereiah

Thank you :) I was actually thinking of making my character arrive on the second day, but I'm looking forward to reading what happens ^^
