Current Is it just me, or does MHGen feel so so much easier than 4U?

I know I disappeared without warning, but would there be a chance for me to have Jeanne step back in? Had to move across country and get my family resettled. ^_^;
@Feisty-Pants
Just a little poke to ask when you think you'll be able to update next. My apologies if that sounds pushy, just curious.

Soonish. Sorry, real life is preventing me from posting daily.
@Feisty-Pants, less of an evil and more of a destructively hungry. No predator is evil, really. The behir is smart enough to plan, but not actively malicious

Fair enough. XD

I'm sure the behir is no longer happy with Jeanne, of course.
I basically wrote it as if it did....so sorry. My character has left that fight though.

As did mine. No worries. We're both focused on a greater evil now.
Jeanne -- Don't Be Afraid

@Override@Regitnui

With a maddening laugh he sought to clasp onto her sword-arm, and with just a flicker of will, she denied him. His hand would crash into a wall of swords conjured from their surroundings before one could blink an eye. With ach of them intricately layered with another in invested fashion, she would not allow him, a foul, disgusting creature, to touch her in the very least. With outright fury, Jeanne brought the maelstrom of light to bear on him once more, only to have a portal open suddenly between the two.

In an instant, the blades stopped. Each of them just a hair from impaling the Devil as they burned with briiant radiance.

It did not take long for her to find the source of the power, and a situation of even greater detriment. From above came crashing both debris and harried alike, and Jeanne moved into action. The hundreds of blades that had been within millimeters of rending the Devil asunder switched their focus entirely: they tore with terrible vengeance into the Harpies that descended from the heavens. While they made quick work of making a clearing for Jeanne, dozens of the Harpies were cleaved in two, swatted out of the sky as she bent at the knees. Her wings unfurled and spread wide, and she launched herself upward into the heavens.

While many heroes might have struggled with flight, she was just as much at home in the sky as she was on the Earth, and she went to work. A golden streak that cleaved many Harpies with ruthless succession as soon before long, she was at the apex of the tower. There, with a pair of wondrous swords in her hands, the radiant angel waited while her wings cast themselves against the wind in a steady cadence.

Certainly her haze caught the Devil catching up at last, but she paid no heed to him. His judgment, burtal and swift as it were destined to be, would come later.
Alright, everyone dealing with the Snapper has been updated. Sorry if I missed anyone to tag.

The Harpies will be updated after @Feisty-Pants has a chance to reply.

I also believe @Floodtalon was thinking of jumping into that fight, yes?

Yeppers.

Sorry for the delay in posting. Will post soon here, was wondering if I was going to let the auto-hit from @Override go through or not.

Working on it now, with a block for Override as well.
Considering the fact that light constructs are magical, and therefore do not obey the laws of physics, I'm pretty sure we can safely say that they can do whatever they want. That said, we should probably establish some solid rules for them.

I had imagined the light control to be able to

A) create hard forcefields, which are unbreakable as long as Angel keeps applying power. Damage to the forcefield drains Angel's power, and as such enough damage forces her to drop the shield. It's shape can be pretty much anything Angel can imagine, allowing it to become quite sharp. They are moved by a 'telekinetic' force strong enough to exert 1 ton of pressure. Multiple things can be moved at once but this requires extensive concentration, and there is a limit to how many separate constructs Angel can simultaneously control.

B) energy can be gathered and concentrated to form laser beams. These beams are pure light and heat, possessing no mass, and as such damage objects by melting them. They can melt through steel in a matter of seconds, but higher intensity beams cause greater strain on Angel.

Potentially photokinesis could be used to create illusions, but this seems like something Angel wouldn't practise. As such while technically within her capabilities I don't think she'd be very skilled at it.

Just throwing in my 2 cents.

I can agree with that. ^_^
I've decided. Gungnir's old team would be called

<Snipped quote by thewizardguy>

It doesn't apply to photons. Relativistic mass was essentially defined as an artifact to assimilate the changes in properties as objects drew closer to the speed of light by relating it to the rest mass. You have no reason to to apply it to photons, since all their phenomena can be expressed as massless.

And the effect of gravity on light can be summed as the distortion of the 4-space, rather than an intrinsic property of the photon. You're looking it the wrong way. Photons are NOT affected by gravity. The Space-Time IS.

Also, here's what good ol' Albert thought on the subject.

It is not good to introduce the concept of the mass of a moving body for which no clear definition can be given. It is better to introduce no other mass concept than the ’rest mass’ m. Instead of introducing M it is better to mention the expression for the momentum and energy of a body in motion.

Now for the love of, stop vandalizing my beloved Physics in such a way. I do have a degree in that and these things hurt.

Well listen here, MR. SCIENTIST.

Every time you bring real physics into a fantasy world, God kills a puppy. Stop. Stop I say!!
I'm going to wait for OA on that one, but I highly doubt he's going to let your swords do that much damage. It wasn't clear in your sheet and that is almost on the level of what Devils lasers could do before nerfed.

Either way, the post I wrote was written without that in mind. The breaking is just them shattering against the barrier.
Jeanne -- Force

@Override

His excuses were pathetic. Blame God for how he appeared to be? Blame God for him having a need to feed upon the energy of others? There was always an alternate route, another path to take, and to the Jeanne, she beheld him simply taking the one which was most convening, the one in which he intentionally harmed her Mother. Instead of finding strength from within to resist feeding, he opted instead to feed upon not only criminals, but the helpless, the elderly, the weak, for the sake of cowardice.

"Fine." The Angelic Epic stated steadfastly. Her hand extended out to him, and as the sword dissipated, there would be a luminous circle instead. A visualization for her to use as once her fingertips settled upon the edge, the swirling maelstrom of swords abruptly ceased their movement. "You have made your decision. I shall make mine.

"Per istam sanctan unctionem et," she began another prayer with her voice returning to its sorrowful and melancholic state. She simply would not allow the actions against her adoptive mother to go unpunished. " suam piissimam misericordiam, indulgeat tibi Dominus quidquid per."

Those who knew Latin, who could understand it, quickly would come to understand what she was saying.

She was administering unto him his last rites.

With the final syllable, her hand closed in around the circle into the focal center. With astonishing rapidity that commenced in the sound of a cacophony of eruptions, the hundreds of highly concentrated blades of light crashed into the barrier simultaneously from all sides. Each crash each eruption would be just as deafening as they were powerful, and the concussion with each impact against the barrier spread into a shockwave that caused the very earth to ripple outward like a stone's throw into a pond.

As always, as she had been taught by the Church and the Clairvoyant, she surged forth into the conflict. With the sword in her hands coming into the grasp of both her hands, Jeanne's wings unfurled as she launched herself forward. Raising her blade on high, she summoned the fullest of her strength to bring the brilliant claymore crashing down upon the barrier that she was certain was near fracturing or completely gone.

If it was gone, it would certainly provide great detriment to the Devil if it struck true. The Devil who had invaded her home, and hurt her family.
