Vera sat up straight and snorted, a bit insulted by his jabs. "I'm proud to be a part of the strongest group in this forest, and we certainly didn't get to be that way by being friendly nor helpful," she pointed out, her eyes narrowing. "Fabine is a perfect example of that," she snickered. "He's tough, and not particularly kind as a leader, but he doesn't need any of that to be effective." She found herself becoming extremely impassioned on the subject, and froze. She cleared her throat and pulled back significantly. "Sorry," she said softly.

Ambrose grins at her. "No, please continue." He urges. "Tell me how a murderer is the best leader of the forest. Tell me how fear and anger and hate allows you to rule as the best group in the forest. Please, tell me how you guys enjoy killing. Enjoy your....effectiveness." He shrugs at her. "Don't apologize. You're obviously very, wrongly though, proud of your group and that's fine. But please, understand that I disagree with everything you Broms stand for and everything you've done."
<Snipped quote by Fionraella>

Vera held her bow proudly. She frowned slightly and tilted her head. "Fighting is how we keep order. Without the war, no one would stay in line," she explained matter-of-factly, just as Fabine had told her. She snorted and added, "So I guess we have as much right to the fish as you do." She sighed when she realized she wasn't proving her point very well, and just huffed, "A Rabin wouldn't understand."

Ambrose shakes his head. "You make no sense." He then grins at her. "You know, I've always found being friendly and helpful to people makes them more likely to listen and abide by whatever rules Sacha or Fabine would lay out." He stretches his arms overhead. "A Rabin? Ah. So you like putting people in boxes. Unlike you, I don't think all Rabins or all Broms are the same. I think you're making a wild assumption about my person based on one small aspect of myself. That doesn't seem fair does it?"
<Snipped quote by Fionraella>

Vera leaps onto a medium-sized rock and crouches down, eyeing him carefully. A small smile rests on her face as he retrieves the arrow. "I don't think so," she responds innocently. "Must belong to someone else," she added with a smirk as she runs one hand along her bow. Her smile disappears for a moment as she adds, "You know you really shouldn't be so close to Brom territory. Some Brom fighters might've just gone for your head."

"Only Archer I've seen is you." Ambrose shrugs, watches her curiously. "Yeah, well. Broms tend to do that." He shrugs as he glances around quickly, half-expecting it to be an ambush while he was distracted by the girl. He turns his attention back to her. "Not really sure what would be accomplished other than more fighting. I'm literally doing nothing but fishing. And that warrants getting injured or worse?" He asks.

Vera heard splashing coming from downstream and narrowed her eyes suspiciously. She headed further into the forest cover and crept along the treeline, watching the river for signs of movement, until she spotted a boy standing near the Brom banks. She slowly drew her bow off of her back and pulled an arrow from her quiver. She noticed him flail at the water and curse a moment later and smirked in amusement. She slowly lowered her bow for a moment, realizing he was no threat. Still, I could have a little bit of fun... she thought mischievously as raised her bow again and let an arrow sail across the river about a foot in front of his face and plummet into the trunk of a tree across the bank.

Ambrose jumps at the sudden appearance of the arrow. He steps back and then frowns. "Huh..." He says, going over to the arrow. He pulls it out, before looking around. He spots Vera and narrows his eyes suspiciously. "Is this your arrow?" He calls over to her. He sets his sword down, not really interested in a fight. He watches the girl, sizing her up. I can take her if I need to. But I could also fly away. Hmm, decisions decisions He thinks as he walks towards the Brom girl.

Vera was patrolling near the southern border as she had been assigned. She knew not all of her group mates took their Brom responsibilities seriously, but she was fiercely proud of their recent triumphs over the Rabins, and was determined to keep it that way. With her bow slung over her back, she walked along the river with stealth, constantly searching for signs of anything unusual or signs of other shifters about.

Ambrose watches the river for fish. Spotting a small school he grins and moves further west, following them, careful not to let his shadow fall over the water. He slowly raises his sword and plunges it into the water, with a *splash!*. He groans loudly as the fish all dart away at the noise and sudden movement. "Dammit." He sighs, before beginning to move on again to look for more fish.

After saying a farewell to Brick, Ambrose walks out of camp, humming to himself. His sword was slung across his back in a leather sheath. He looks around as he walks, taking in the sights and sounds of the forest. He couldn't help notice there was a weird silence falling over the forest. He shrugs and heads for the river, deciding to fish some before the sun set. He spots the river up ahead and stops, cursing himself as he forgot to grab a fishing pole. He then realizes he could use his sword, and pulls it out of the sheath.
Although Aya hardly thought Destin should need to repay her for her help, as she would do the same for anyone who needed it, the thought of the two of them meeting up together warmed her heart. She vaguely recalled some conversation she'd had with Sacha about no longer meeting him but she got caught up in the excitement of the moment and in those two blue-green eyes that stared at her so hopefully. "Of course! Both of those sound like wonderful ideas!"

Destin beams happily. "So glad you like them!" He bounces around in a circle. "Wait...IS that okay with Sacha do you think? Meeting me at the border? She is my friend, so she'd be fine with it hopefully.." He frowns worriedly. "Does she even talk to me still? *are* we even still friends anymore?"
<Snipped quote by Fionraella>

Jett suddenly sat up excitedly and looked at her with bright eyes. "Hey! I totally forgot! Who else is still here that I would remember?" he asked energetically, thrilled at the thought of reuniting with some other lost friends. His time away from the Rabins had been horribly lonely. He had met some new people and had other relationships, but nothing was ever serious or genuinely enjoyable.

Amelia blinks. "Hmm...Well Kianna's still there. And Aya..." She sighs softly. "Not too many from the old days. I doubt you'd know Selena or Ambrose..." She thinks a bit. "Maybe you do, I dunno. But those are the major ones..." She looks at him sadly. "A lot of people have died since you left."
<Snipped quote by Fionraella>

Jett flopped onto the ground and laid down on his back, folding his hands behind his head and closed his eyes with a grin. "Yeah, it feels so great to just let loose and enjoy life a bit." He opened one eye and glanced at her. "What do you guys do for fun anymore?"

Amelia shrugs and stretches, looking up at the sky. "Not too much recently. I mean, the usual swimming, yeah." She shakes her head. "Recently we've been really working to getting the camp ready for winter. It's barely the end of fall and it's already getting cold enough to kill a lot of important herbs and drive the prey away..."
<Snipped quote by Fionraella>

Jett frowned and closed his eyes. "Well, I guess the first step is trying to make her not hate me," he pointed out with a slight smile. "But after that, I'm not sure what I want." He smiled appreciatively at her and added, "Thanks for that, and for getting me out of camp, too."

Amelia nods. "I'm pretty sure she doesn't hate you. she might just highly dislike you right now." She shrugs with a sigh. "I mean, after all you did leave." She then grins. "No problem. I had to get out of there too. Kianna and that Brom need to kiss and make up already, Sacha needs to get the stick out of her ass, and everyone else needs to just chill the fuck out."
