@fourtimesnineI see you there, lurkin in the shadows...

You caught me! :D

Sometimes I just like to read RP threads, even when I don't have enough spare time to join.
@WhiteStar19

It's sad to see you go, but we get it. Real life happens. Thanks for everything you've done for this roleplay so far, and happy RPing!

@Apokalipse

Sup, nice to have you as our new GM! Also, does anyone else find this hilariously ironic?

I am in no way the GM or co-GM so you do not have to listen to me at all,

Thank you very much! I think I can manage that, so without further ado, here's my WIP character!

Edit: Whew, I think I'm done! Is this ok?

Edit: Made a few last-minute changes. Now it's done.
Hi there!

This sounds like a really cool premise. I might be interested in joining, but before I start writing the CS, I'd like to ask: How long should posts be? How often should we post? I'm still fairly new to RPing, and this would be the first "Casual" level RP I've joined, so I want to make sure that I can keep up. Thank you!

I turn to look at Harley, walking slower as I think over her questions. The answer to the first question is easy.

"No, I don't think you're crazy. It never even crossed my mind," I reply honestly. Then I consider her next statements, which I really don't know how to respond to.

"What exactly do you mean?" I ask carefully. "About this place, and the reason we're here?"

Sure, this place is odd, but I haven't noticed anything especially uncanny about it. Am I just oblivious to whatever is going on? It wouldn't be the first time that I'd missed seeing something that should've been obvious. I hadn't thought to really question why we'd ended up here either - just thought about getting out. Harley seems like she's far more thoughtful and observant than I am. I hope she's doing ok.

"Can you patch yourself up?" I ask. "There should be a first-aid kit in the leftmost room - at least, that's where mine was. If you can't get to the room because of your leg, at least bandage your wound with an article of clothing. Don't you dare bleed out on me."

Torn, I look between Harley, standing near the path's opening, and Jason and Josh, ready to climb the tree. They did have a point about the message, and I didn't want us to get permanently separated. But I really couldn't let Harley leave by herself. If we had to split up, it was better to go two and two.

"Yeah, I'm coming," I reply, making my decision. "Josh, Jason, we'll be back soon, ok? Good luck with the letter!"

I run to catch up with Harley. Then, trying to act more confident than I really am, I stride forwards into the labyrinth.

A matronly woman entered the gym and asked them to be seated. From her appearance and the immediate obedience of the other children, Brooke guessed that this was the Ms. Smith that she'd heard about. She quickly followed the others in sitting down on the bleachers, choosing one of the higher rows to compensate for her diminutive height. Then Brooke listened attentively to the story of the orphanage.

I consider the options. We could cover more ground if we split up, and two people (three, if the other person woke up) should be enough to climb a tree. Jason's little excursion had already helped us rule out the western path, so even if Harley and I don't find anything, we would still be helping a little. I am very curious about the note, but I can always ask the others what it said when we get back.

"Sure, Harley, that sounds good. Let's go explore the southern path." I then look to the other two. "Do you think you two can manage on your own?"

Briefly, I feel a vague apprehension about splitting the party, but I quickly dismiss it. This isn't a horror movie, this is real life, strange as it had been lately.

What have I got in my pocket? Apparently, nothing. I sigh; it's going to be a pain in the neck to replace my phone and all the cards in my wallet, assuming that they were stolen. We're also going to be effectively blind once the sun sets.

"Will, is something the matter?" asks Harley.

"Yeah," I reply. "It seems that my phone, wallet, and spare charger are gone. Hopefully I just forgot them at home or something, but I'd guess that they were taken by whoever brought us here."

I notice that she's looking through her pockets too. "Is all your stuff gone too?"

Momentarily distracted by that train of thought, I return my attention to my parched throat as I notice that Jason has generously brought Harley a bucket of water.

Following her example, I scoop up some water from the pail. "Thank you," I say gratefully. Ah, that's much better.

I look towards the southern path, the one that the sun is hanging above. I can't see anything about it that's different from the others, so I suppose it's as good of a place to explore as any, and Jason does know this place a little better than I do.

"If you're going to check out the southern path, can I come with you?" I ask Jason. It's dangerous to go alone! "I'd prefer to check out the tree first, but I'm fine with whatever you guys want to do."
