I consider Harley's question. "I don't know. I can't really see any difference between the two paths."

I look left, then right again. They still don't look any different. Following the logic we'd used to choose the southern one, we should go west in order to keep following the sun. But if I remembered correctly, west is the direction that Jason had already looked at, so we might be reexploring old ground... I was probably overthinking this, and actually exploring one of the paths would be a better use of time than debating which one to take.

"If I had a coin, I'd flip it to decide, but I don't," I say apologetically. "If I were to randomly guess, I'd choose the path to the right. Unless you would prefer left?"

A pit of sharp metal looms before us, edges gleaming threateningly. It resembles a spike pit from one of the old platformer games I used to play, except that I, not being a video game character, don't have the ability to leap over it. Walking through it doesn't seem like a good idea either - out here, with no medical supplies and no way of treatment, it would be easy for even a small cut to get infected.

"I don't think we should try crossing the pit yet - it's too risky. Harley, what do you think?" I ask.

There seems to be another letter on the other side of the pit. Just in case there's something else I missed, I search the area without descending into the pit. I'm curious about the letter, but I'm not willing to risk injury for it - surely there's a better way to get to the other side. I look to the left and to the right. Since we're facing south, the left path goes east and the right path goes west.

"Do you want to try one of the two side paths? They look a bit safer," I venture.
@Flightless_Soul

Hey, it's great to have you here again! *glomps back*
I'd be ok with continuing if everyone else was. Flightless can catch up when she gets back; Lyra too. Also, if I'm ever gone for a few days in the future, you all are free to keep going without me and I'll catch up later.
A loud yell caused Alphys to startle awake with a small yelp, but she relaxed when she saw that it was Undyne being her usual strong self. Alphys wasn't a fan of waking up in general, but being woken up by your awesome fish girlfriend was the best. Especially if she brought you breakfast in bed. Alphys had been wary of Undyne's cooking at first, but her skill level had improved tremendously since that time when she and Frisk had set her house on fire. These pancakes didn't look pounded to dust or on fire at all.

Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, Alphys said, "Wow, Undyne, you didn't h- have to. Not that I don't appreciate it! These are great! Um, thank you."

Alphys was blushing. Why did she have to get embarrassed so easily? Now Undyne was bowing gallantly on one knee, which was simultaneously silly and heartwarming.

"Come on, get up here and share these with me," Alphys huffed, patting the bed beside her.
@KahleenCuthald

If I remember correctly, @Flightless_Soul and I were walking down the southern path of the Labyrinth while @BilboTheGreat and @duskshine749 were at the garden, about to climb the tree.
Just finished my 2nd playthrough of Undertale (1st was neutral, 2nd was pacifist) and I would be so down for this. Could I please play Alphys? Unless someone else really wants her, in which case I'd be happy with Napstablook.
Brooke watched curiously as a young girl with twintails entered the room in gym clothing. She started running back and forth from the weight room, stacking a ludicrious number of plates onto the barbell. Unconsciously, Brooke leaned forwards, her earlier nervousness evaporating in the face of her curiosity. Did the girl - Sara, as Ms. Smith had called her - have super-strength? Perhaps it was something more destructive, since she'd told them that there was more to it than breaking things. Regardless, Brooke was eager to see Sara's power in action, and hoped that she'd have a chance to watch the others use their powers as well.
*trembles* We're sorry, please be merciful!

I don't want to double-post, and Will is waiting for Harley to continue their conversation.
No worries, take your time. Most of us are probably still busy with New Year's and stuff anyways.

If I had to choose one, I'd pick plot-driven, but either character- or plot-driven is fine with me.
