Despite Chara's protests, Asriel kept trying to help. Chara knew that they could die; that had been the point of climbing the mountain, even though they didn't like thinking of it in those terms. They didn't expect eating candy to help much, but they took Asriel's offer and ate the chocolate bar anyway. The moment they swallowed the food, Chara felt healthier and more invigorated. Their injuries seemed to be healing on their own.

"Wow," Chara gasped. "How did you do that?" Although they weren't fully healed, they were no longer on the brink of death either. Chara looked at Asriel with an expression resembling awe. They were getting the feeling that whatever they thought they knew about the world didn't apply here, where there were magical healing chocolate bars and non-human beings like Asriel.
"That's really neat," Brooke said as she watched William's hand shift smoothly between metal and skin. They could do such amazing things. Feeling like she should demonstrate her power too, she tried to make a pair of portals. At first, nothing happened - it was like she'd called her power, but it simply wasn't there. Brooke tried harder, and slowly, a small rectangle faded into view in front of them. It showed the street in front of the orphanage, since that's where the other portal was placed. A breeze of fresh outdoors air emanated from it.

Proudly, Brooke said, "That's what I can do."

The library was quiet this early in the morning, when most students were attending class or sleeping in. Kimberly flipped to the next page of her textbook, diligently taking notes on her assigned reading. It was dry, boring work, but she refused to let herself slack off in her first year of college.

Someone tapped her lightly on the shoulder, causing her to turn around. A young woman with lovely brown curls and clear blue eyes smiled at her. It was Ramona, one of the girls from Kim's old gymnastics team. Kim remembered watching her on television just a few weeks ago as she competed in the world championship. What could she possibly want with someone who'd quit years ago?

"Hey," Ramona smiled sweetly. "Kim, it's so nice to see you."

"What do you want?" Kim asked bluntly. Envy made her even less polite than usual.

"Well, I didn't realize that we went to the same college until a few days ago, so I wanted to say hi. Do you remember when we used to do gymnastics together?"

Kim nodded, wondering where Ramona was going with this topic.

"I felt so bad when you quit. I mean, you always worked so hard, harder than any of us. It's not your fault you couldn't make it," Ramona said in her saccharine, sickly sweet voice.

Kim stood up violently from her table, the scrape of the chair echoing through the library. "Are you here to gloat? Is that it? Do you want to rub your gold medals in my face?" she spat.

Ramona backed up as Kim spoke, flinching as though each sentence was a physical blow. Her perfect, smooth skin paled. "No!" she cried. "Kim, that's not what I meant at all!" She looked to the left and right, where other students were watching the spectacle they'd created. In a quieter voice, she approached Kim and said, "I'm sorry. It was unfair, and I really do feel bad about it. Please, take this." Ramona pressed a small, cube-shaped item into Kim's palm, and closed Kim's fingers around it. "Wait until you're somewhere private to use it," she whispered. Then she turned and fled out the doors of the library, leaving Kim standing there, confused and holding a bright blue die.

Her anger replaced by curiosity, Kim packed up her books and returned to her dorm, which she fortunately didn't have to share with a roommate. She sat at her desk, tossing the die idly up and down in one hand. What did Ramona mean by "use it"? Was she supposed to roll it? Kim didn't think it would hurt, so she dropped the die and let it bounce across her desk. The moment it landed, its color shifted from blue to red. She leaned over to read the number on it, and a moment later, the die disappated into thin air, causing Kim to gasp in shock. While Kim was still incredulously looking at the spot where the die had been, the phone in her pocket vibrated, prompting her to open it and read her new message.

Thanks for the answers! It seems odd how many RPs are 90% male or 90% female.

I'll go ahead and move her over to the Characters tab, and start writing an IC post.

Can I please join this? I really liked that manhwa, and am quite excited about this RP. Character sheet below:

I do have a few questions, though. First, can stats be improved through hard work? If you go the gym 3 times a week, will your Strength go up eventually? Also, where is everyone? I'm assuming that we're all going to interact at some point, so it seems like a good idea to establish a common location - maybe we all live in the same city, for example. If that's already posted somewhere and I didn't see it, my apologies.
Hi everyone! I'm new to the arena, so I don't really know how things work, and this seems like the best place to ask.

1. How exactly do you start/join/organize matches? I'm used to using Interest Checks, but I looked at a few and apparently that mostly goes on in the Chat and HQ threads. How does that work?

2. Do characters persist across roleplays? Again, I'm used to characters that are made for a specific RP, but a few things I've read here suggest otherwise.

3. Is there a place for story fights? That is, fights where the goal isn't for one character to win over another, but to write a story about the characters with the battle as part of the plot.

4. I'm sure I'll have more questions later, but for now, is anyone willing to RP with a newbie? Experience is the best teacher, after all.

"I can make portals," Brooke replied. It felt a little odd to talk about their abilities so casually; they were conversing about being able to shape darkness or warp space in the same tone that other kids might use when talking about hobbies or favorite ice cream flavors. Brooke decided that it was a good thing.

"What's your ability?" she asked William.
I'm not that big a fan of Undertale. :P

Says the person whose avatar and (awesome) signature are both from Undertale. :)

If Frisk is from the future, I guess the existing monsters might be from Gerson's generation, however old he is? That could be interesting...
This is a plot/worldbuilding question: How much time do you think passed between Asriel and Chara's childhood, and the events of the game?

I'm asking because I think it'd be interesting if we could interact with child versions of the main NPCs, but that might not make sense timeline-wise. And we could stick with Toriel and Asgore, or make OCs.

Plot theories below. Sorry it's so long, I got a little carried away, so you can skip to the tl;dr if you want.

In New Home, there's a calendar. In Neutral/Pacifist, its description is (There's an old calendar from the end of 201X.) (A date is circled on it.) but in Genocide, it is (The date I came here.) meaning when Chara got there. The beginning animation is also marked 201X, which would indicate that Frisk fell within a decade of Chara. However, it seems unlikely that Asgore could collect 6 human SOULs in less than 10 years, or the monsters would've collected enough to break the barrier way earlier. Also, the main NPCs didn't seem to know Toriel, which is odd if she left just a few years ago. The alternate explanation is that the beginning animation was of Chara falling, and that Frisk came along many years later. This would explain Alphys' extradimensional phone - she didn't invent a cellphone that could access dimensional boxes, space-warping phones were a common technology by that point in the future. However, if it was far enough in the future for the 6 SOULs to make sense, Frisk's time would be way later than ours. The world we see in the True Pacifist credits doesn't look very future-y. And Gerson (the turtle in the Waterfall shop) can tell you a story about Toriel and Asgore. Thoughts?

tl;dr Either Frisk and Chara fell within 10 years of each other, or Frisk is from the far future and Chara from 201X. Or something I didn't think of.
