"Heh, he'd probably freak out at the sight of a giant bear." Lucien grinned, but the smile on his face disappeared the moment Amy suggested they split up. He shook his head in response. "I'm all for covering ground, but we need to watch each other's backs. This masked phantom guy, by the looks of it he's got a lot of tricks up his sleeves and he might not play fair." Lucien made a face then tapped Tobias on the back when the man agreed.
"Mhn, Tobias thinks we should stick together too--wait? No summoning?" He looked crestfallen but nodded his head. "Fine, fine," so Horses were allowed to walk the halls but bears weren't? This academy had weird rules.
The man continued talking about how splitting would be a terribly idea and Lucien nodded again. "We can stick together and I can summon a blackbird instead, yeah? It can zip down the halls." Lucien gestured with his hands, making a swoosh noise as he did. "Less chances of accidental property damage as well." For some reason, Tobias didn't like the idea of having animals in his school. "It could scout ahead and Amy can tell us if she senses anyone getting closer." He looked at the two of them expectantly, he was pretty confident in something he had planned.
???
The masked phantom was the coolest guy ever!
Fabian wanted to cheer, but instead he zipped his mouth shut and rose to his feet. Everyone was silent and professional and hell yes! He was going to be silent and professional too. The boy got to his feet and tried his darnedest to keep a grin off his face.
The boy wasted no time and pretty much scrambled onto Mitty's back. He used his hands as makeshift binoculars and peered into the darkness. It was quiet. He remained on his friend's back for a few more moments before finally getting off. "Be careful?" He tapped his friend on the back to get his attention then puffed out his chest. "If anyone has to be careful," he lowered his voice. "It'll be whoever wants to stop us."
This night was going to be perfect. He'd show grandma and the others that he was just as good as them.
