*Rearranges a series of connections between different components*
I wouldn't be very concerned, as long as you don't trigger a regression.

Science? Approximately ten thousand years.

There’s a mild level of concern that’s just baseline. Can’t help it.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

Her release wasn’t too long ago, in the scheme of things.

Just trying to gauge the difference in experience.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

The project isn’t ripe enough to attempt a new soul. However, I’ve refined the constituent components that comprise a soul. She should be more stable than before.

That’s good. Wasn’t sure how much more experience you had gotten in the subject between your first and second time working with her.

This functionality is auxiliary and distinct from her personality. While all components of the soul impact the others, this should have a negligible effect.

I’d have no way to know. So good. You worked on many artificial souls since her?

<Snipped quote by Techspert>

While it has been several years, I believe this should be achievable.
*Begins to pull at the model with the gloves, making modifications and dropping in new components*
I’ll also add a contingency to prevent this failure point in the future.

Right, let’s not go just changing who she is.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

Very well. Assuming there are no objections, I’ll begin the process.

Not from me, so long as you’re confident.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

I would caution you all, once this process terminates, you must not inform Melody of the events that took place. Especially early in the process, memories can be rebuilt from side channels.

Just as well. I’d love to leave all this in the past anyway.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

Ah, forgive me for not elaborating. It’s simpler to target older, rooted memories. I can identify those and erase them from the model, and then use the model to mask operations on the actual soul, effectively inverting which memories were targeted. Then we begin corrective measures.

That makes infinitely more sense. Yeah, sounds like a plan if I’ve ever heard one about fixing a soul… Which I haven’t, but still.

<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

Simple and short enough. I’ll erase all memories before the Nemid encounter. There may be some residual oddities, but that will enable corrective measures.

All memories?
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

She mentioned something about that too, while we were there.

Right. There’s not much else that I think could explain it.
