Not really if you think about it, the colt 1911, a gun designed over 100 years ago, is still a very popular and effective weapon, plus it would be something relatively easy to get hold of
It's a carbine, essentially what Stormtroopers were suing in the movies
There we go, have an 8 in blasters now :P I's say that's pretty friggin good, also, in case you missed it from last time, I added a blaster to my gear, figured that it was kind of important
I just put the skill on there to show that he has specifically worked on his reflexes, and could possibly rival a jedi padawan, but only in that aspect.
If you wanted to look back at my character, I added a bio, personality, languages spoken, and basic gear, feel free to let me know if there is anything else you would like me to work on. I would also like to add that either side may be able to take him up, if they can give him a contract that he will agree to, but whichever one grabs him before the game starts is probably the side he will stay on through the campaign. Bear in mind, he does not know he is force sensitive, he just thinks he is lucky, so that will likely not be a selling point.

See, I just don't agree with that, yeah, a jedi can deflect some stuff, and can kinda tell when something is flying at him, but unless he is a friggin jedi master, I just can't see him being all /that/ tough to hit, calling back the Geonosis scene, think of how many jedi dropped really fast to just the droids, even before the super battle droids show up? The main thing people see and remember are the Heroes, and of course they aren't going to to be hit much, if at all, they are central to the story. Try and think of how many jedi were hunted down by just stormtroopers in the 20 years between 3 and 4, Vader didn't take them all down, he was only called in for the Masters, and really powerful ones. I'm not saying that jedi don't have an edge, but that is all it should be, a slight edge, not a nigh impregnable wall.
I have an idea for a character, but without a dice system, I'm not sure how viable it would be, as it would require people to realize and actually role play the fact that just because you have a lightsaber, you can still get shot by a blaster.
I like the D6 version, as it actually balances out force users really well, yeah, you can be all powerful in the force and that can help you do lots of stuff, but you could still (potentially) be taken down by some normal guy who has just devoted his life to learning to fight really well with his blaster, made it his whole career. Like Boba Fett or something

Got a link? I'm looking for something simple, but, as you say, balanced and open.

d6holocron.com/downloads/books/WEG4012.. It's a PDF of the rulebook, not sure how simple you might think it is, but I find it intuitive
