@Joshua Tamashii@CajunRobinHood Player's can be the same class. I've played games with parties of nothing but fighters, it makes for an interesting dynamic when the party is not "balanced." Please don't feel you have to change your character to make a balanced party. If the party is ever lacking something I may insert a special quest to circumvent the short fall but very rarely can something not be accomplished because you have too many rogues and not enough clerics (insert any class type for this demonstration).

It occurred to me this morning that I did not explain house rules when making a character sheet. I will have that up in the next couple of hours along with my character sheet.
Name: Caitlin (Cait) Flannigan of Eucora (a made up kingdom)
Age: 24
Occupation: Guardian of the Stone

Appearance:

Biography:
Cait was born to a noble family, she was destined to have the finest things in life and be married off to another noble man that would hopefully continue to raise her family’s position in society. She was taught from a young age how to act, how to talk, how to walk when in public. She quickly became bored with her life, wanting more. She decided she had enough when she was fifteen, said goodbye to her younger sisters and ran away from home, never looking back.

Cait wandered for a few years, her whims taking her on whichever adventure she fancied next. On her adventures she learned handy skills like pick pocketing and lock picking. She was adept with a bow but prefers her daggers and short swords to almost anything else. Alvar found her drunk in a tavern one night. He thought he was going to need to help the young girl as a group of men tried to take advantage of her in her drunken state. Cait quickly dispatched the thugs and went back to her ale. Impressed by her skill Alvar offered to train her. Cait waived him off but he persisted for three days before she finally relented that the old man might have something to teach her that her adventures had yet to give her – a purpose for her life.

Alvar was the guardian of the green stone ring. He explained to Cait how he belonged to a very long line of guardians, their lives dedicated to the protection of this ring. So Alvar trained Cait, making her an even more skilled fighter/thief. Alvar gave Cait a life of discipline and a sense of honor and purpose. Her world was turned upside down when Alvar was murdered by a rove of bandits, wanting to steal the ring from him when they refused to pay the “toll” the bandits were charging for using the road. Alvar had been too skilled to be killed by the bandits, he had only died because Cait had made a stupid mistake and he’d sacrificed himself for her. In a rage Cait slaughtered the bandits, pulling Alvar into her lap as he bled to death. He gave her the ring and begged her to protect it with her life. That was three days ago.
The character sheet is posted in the 0th post. My wife is driving all night on a road trip without me so I will be keeping her company and get too distracted when also on here trying to update the thread. I will be lurking so I can answer questions but won't have a character sheet up of my own until the morning.

I will be using the 0th post to provide the most urgent updates so that no one is having to wade through pages of posts to find out what I've added. It will eventually get moved to the first post which I will continue to include a line at the bottom letting you know when it was last updated.

Just a friendly reminder, please treat everyone with respect, including other players.
@Divine Darkness That is allowed. I will be posting a character that I will be playing as (to keep the plot moving in the right direction when need be) when I post the character sheets. I normally play as a ranger. Haven't decided if I want to play as female or male this time round, I can play both but since I'm female perhaps I'll stick with female...we'll see.
I'd like to call the green ring if it's still unspoken for.
All you have to do is copy and paste the character sheet. I do not want you to change it to be in an order that makes more logical sense. It is in the order it is because it makes it easier for me to then go back and put your character sheet into the actual D&D character sheet that I'm using. I will post an explanation on how to fill out the character sheet for those who are unsure or new to D&D. I will also be posting my character for those of you who would like an example to follow. This probably will not be until tomorrow. If you want to get a jump and fill out what you can now, by all means, you can always edit it later. Do NOT put your CS into the character tab until you have received an acceptance from me.

@ShaggyDoo0 Follow up to my critical fail question as I work on character sheets...what happened with a critical success?

I will allow an Orc in this instance because this sounds hilarious but one of the reasons they were not allowed and Tieflings were not allowed is that it generally makes my life difficult as a GM/DM because they are generally feared by the general public which may make getting some quests harder or even lodging at the local Inn. Dragonborns are allowed because while they are feared they are also generally respected.
You get character sheets as soon as I format them for RPG so I can easily put them in the form fillable PDF. So sometime tonight because I'm off tomorrow.
@Warborn123 nah, had to roll a strength check to not break my baskets though. Had to roll under 15 with a +6 str. Thats always fun.

What happened if you critical failed?
@Bishop homebrew spells are allowed.

To clarify, double posting does not bother me if you're mentioning me as editing in a mention will not notify me. Also, I may not see the edit if you aren't able to mention me. To give you an idea, I logged on just now and had 32 notifications. Mentions are the best way to ensure I see your question. I will never intentionally ignore any player.
