Bio

Well hello.

I guess I should introduce myself, huh.

I'm Gardevoiran, just some schmuck going to college and working towards getting a degree in Fine Arts.

I do commissions and what-not, and you can ask me to do a commission for you through my Discord (Gardevoiran #1429) or up here through RPGuild PMs, and I receive donations and payment through my Ko-fi page. Clicking the box right below here will take you to it.

I'm a nerd. I play Pokemon religiously, I dabble in some anime, I write up here, and I love watching incredibly awful movies and just making fun of them. Specifically things like "Leo the Lion" and what not.

I don't have much else to say, so I guess I can leave you guys with a really bad joke.

"What do you call a cow with two legs?"
"Lean beef."

Alas, the few hours that Akiko had before these 'Umbral Games' began. Not much time, sure, but it at least gave her enough mileage to get a good headspace for what her plan was. Though, this was a whole new world that she had very little grasp of. Robot cops, wild delinquents, everything was just a bit chaotic right now, and way too much for her to easily adjust to. She knew that she'd at least need someone to help her get through this, what with her own passive nature not being the best for many crimes other than jaywalking, and that'd likely get her nowhere. Still, she had just a bit of time, and she laid back against whatever bed she had in this temporary waiting room before fumbling around with the cards in her hand. Ornate and collectible, sure, but with a flash of light one of the cards vanished, leaving Akiko with just two cards, the Eleonor and Monkey ones specifically.

"Lorelai?" Akiko asked the air in front of her. "You're not gonna freak out, are you? I'm a bit afraid of using cards in worlds unknown to you, so..." Her voice trailed off. Probably not the time to overexplain what was going on, or at least not yet. "I wanted to see you before I got in over my head on something."

"You have no need to worry. I am...aware, somewhat, of events that transpire around you." Her Serei answered upon being summoned, wearing nothing more than a disarming smile and a long, heavy dressing gown fitting the late hour. Familiar with the girl who summons her, it was a thick garment and displayed little beyond Lorelai's own figure, but they were well enough acquanted not to bother hiding such. Moving to the bed she sat beside the cat girl and rested a hand on her knee. "While I have no care for thievery and crime, pillaging a hostile territory is not outside the scope of my abilities. Yet still, I find your concern over these matters to speek well of your character Akiko. I have given my card well, of that I have no doubt."

Akiko blushed for a moment. "I mean, you're basically my knight. I'd be rude to not address your concerns with these sorts of matters." She sat back up on the bed and rested gently against Lorelai's shoulder. "Even if this whole place is some sort of illusion created by beings unknown, I'm just glad I can have good partners in times like this. Better than any person that Rose could be, anyway." The cat girl chuckled under her breath. "I mean, who gets captured naked in the middle of a forest, right?" She looked up at her knight, a size difference being clear from that alone. "... though, I guess I can't say much. At least I spent it with someone that'd keep me safe. Better than what the alternatives were."

"Ah yes, the ones who traveled with the Crimson Hound. Having seen this Rose I don't hold her in high opinion, but I must concede it is rather easy to wind up bereft of clothing and senses when around an aroused Luxonne. Thankfully the card you possess is kind enough to spare you that...intensity." The knight reassured her summoner, sliding her arm around Akiko's shoulders and holding her closer. "Now that you possess us, we would be hard pressed to deny you even if you opposed our morals, but knowing you put such care into your bearing does stir even my retired soul. If you require it, you need only order it and Durgan and I shall see these games won with a city wrought to rubble. You need not sully your paws."

"Mass destruction would be a way to cruise through thi- wait, was that a pun." One eyebrow on Akiko's face was raised, pulling up her hands and resting her tail between them, before she just, lowered her arms. Her tail gently floated down into Lorelai's lap without so much as a single noise. "... heh. Nice pun." The cat girl gently pushed herself off of Lorelai before her outfit changed like magic, just becoming some sort of pajama set as she leaned back into the knight. Now she was a fair bit better dressed for the situation. "... you spared me your intensity? What's that like?"

There was a noticable twitch in the knight's demeanor, her eyes fixated upon the tail with a hand open as though to reach for it, but an act of sheer iron willpower stayed her from laying a finger upon it. She worked her jaw, straining for words while her summoner changed her attire into something more suitable for slumber and settled against her, pulling the tail mercifully away from her grasp. "Ummm...ahem, you could say I have a zealous streak for family and country. Add to that, I'm well aware I'm not the brightest of candles, and I have a habit of pursing my issues with a perseverance that most would call foolish. But such is my way, and it had led me to much happieness after a long and arduous road. If I was any less driven I dare say I'd have lost Eleonor entirely."

The knight titled her head back, releasing a heavy sigh as she fell into the bedsheets, pulling Akiko alongside her. Turning onto her side, both arms now curled around Akiko, not so much pulling her tight as she simply enjoyed the feeling of holding another. "Perhaps one day you shall find something worthy pursing at all expense. If you are fortunate, you will find one who shall pursue you, and in turn, shall be united with only half the sacrifice on both parts. A blessed ending we all can hope for."

At first, the cat was scared to move within Lorelai's grasp. clearly unfamiliar with some of these feelings. But as Lorelai spoke, she began to understand something about the knight and herself that they somewhat had in common. Though it was definitely painstakingly obvious that Akiko was a tad uncomfortable in the situation, she gently shuffled closer to Lorelai, and slowly but surely, her arms slid around to hold against the knight. She was on her side, shuffled close up against the busom of this knight she'd only met recently, but she knew that she was safe and protected. Loved, even. It was something that she hadn't felt in a good long time, and she was here feeling it now. Her tail crept up to the knight's arm, wrapping around her wrist gently. "... I... might know what I want to pursue, Lorelai..."

Slowly, as though earning the trust of the genuine animal from which Akiko drew her ears and tail, Lorelai felt her summoner relax against her. Her breath grew steady and there was no longer the flustered flutter of her heart beating as thought it would fly from her chest at the slightest unwanted touch to her arm. The Knight's expression brightened upon feeling a fluffy curl upon her wrist and she shut her eyes to better savor the tactile sensation. "You don't need to share it with me if you are not ready to. Simply hold on to what you desire and affirm your beliefs in the face of coming obstacles. So long as your actions carry you closer and you can still claim to be worthy of it in your own eyes after all you've done, then you can live truly without regret."

"You are blessed with the aid of both a knight and a lady to help shoulder this burden, so rest easy, and know that you shall not face the 'morrow alone while you still reside in this Tower." Lorelai said, curling inwards to lay her chin atop Akiko's head, finding the comfort of the moment drawing them towards the same inevitable land that awaits all the weary and tired.

A sigh of relief was all that Akiko had released. There wasn't anything more for herself to say about that. She was at peace with her own thoughts, or at least, she had a plan for the far future, though she did have a plan for tomorrow. She knew her goal, and she needed Durgan and Lorelai's help with it. But until then, she smiled. Not a fake smile, either. A genuine smirk of actual excitement.

System: Digbie

Nice.

Once the dust had settled amidst all the commotion, Digbie flicked his hat up a notch so his dark scowl was absent, revealing his dopey eyes once more. He was a little scared from the sudden arrival of Guze, but when the sword was kicked over to his side, Digbie realized that he hadn't much to really worry about. The orc wasn't going to take him down, hell, the stone that was tossed to Digbie was another sign he didn't have anything to worry about. The goblin clumsily caught it with his hands, clenching it to himself out of fear for dropping and breaking it. "What's... what is this...?" he asked, analyzing it with the catch-all Analysis skill he had.

Digbie gently put his stuff down at Guze asking the group for help. Sure, he didn't want to hurt the goblins any more and leave them for dead, but something told him the situation would grow much worse for him and his friends if he didn't comply, so... he stepped over to the goblins and began to strip them of their gear, rounding everything up and laying it down in front of the base in an admittedly very organized manner. He had just hoped Jehanne would forgive him for whatever fate he's subjecting these goblins to.

As everything was nicely laid out, he listened to Guze speak. Though he was pretty silent about things, his eyes widened when the Orc spoke about the bugbear in the cave down South. "We, uh... all came from down there, actually. The bugbear got usurped." Digbie chimed in, but at that point his statement was moot, Guze was all geared up and getting ready to leave. When the orc finished explaining everything, he patted his steed and the duo left the Monster Party once again.

...

"Oooohhhhh..." Digbie sighed before he rubbed his head. "So much for a clean job. At least we learned somethin' 'bout the areas." Digbie commented before he remembered his skills. Man, he could upgrade some things! Finally!

But what to upgrade now... he didn't want to dump everything into one skill, but there was indeed one skill that interested him more than every other.

"Eight points into Lucid Dream. The other two into Spiritual Awareness." Digbie figured that was a good way to spend points, especially if lucid dreams were the best way for him to talk to Jehanne outside of Guidance.

He turned back to his friends. "We need to leave here. While I trust Guze's word on the Broken Tower, I think it might be in our best interest to move to somewhere else for our own safety. Orcs, Kobolds, whatever cave we can find in the mountains, I don't know, but anywhere is better than here right now. So... I propose while we decide on where to go, I'm gonna check all this gear for quality and everything, then we'll decide after that. We move in the afternoon after we round everything up.

Though before anything can happen... I've actually, gotta check the gear. 'Scuze me while I do that."
Digbie picked up the Rusty Sword and inspected it with Magic and Material analysis before he kept going, moving to the stone, then the pan, so on and so forth, until he could decipher everything with the items in question.

Once all the items were checked, he looked up to the sky and asked Jehanne a question with Guidance. "How are these stones, Jehanne? Are any of these good for my prayer bead necklace?"

Item equipped - Woodland Pick
System: Digbie

He didn't need that sword anyway.

Digbie patted the pickaxe in his pack, smiling at the new notification that Digbie had received. About time that he got some sort of new toy to play with, and with how quick his magic recharged from Earth Vein, he had a pretty good chance of juggling his skills and getting a ton of mileage out of the dual casting.

"No killing. We can do this without death!" Digbie shouted to Oberon. "Especially now. I'll get Rags!" Digbie strafed forward to the right, trying to close the distance just a little bit to help get a better chance at loosing his spells without aftereffects. Digbie charged up a Mana Orb in his hands, the blue energy from the spell formulating around into the condense magical sphere he knew familiarly. Of course, he couldn't hold it for long, but he had a solid idea of what he wanted to try.

His hand surged with the same familiar golden energy from the Stone Shot II he just loosed. He just needed ammunition, and while solid rocks did work well with Stone Shot overall, he was a bit curious on how this would result. Maybe in something like Mana Shot? That'd be a pretty interesting development, all things considered, but he couldn't worry about that.

With the golden ball of residual magic in his hands, Digbie hurled it straight towards the Elite Goblin. If it worked, hey that's a pretty good thing. If it didn't... then hopefully he'd at least draw the attention of the group so something else can happen.

"Poetic. Hopefully I'm not gonna leave a bad impression." Akiko smirked over to Caprice, though her smirk was immediately wiped away when the pirate spoke.

"Speak for yourself, Rose." Akiko spat at Rose before she thought about her decisions once more. This was definitely against any sort of moral compass she had, considering her pacifism all the way up to this point, however... she did need several things. Money, power, and the ability to move forward being the primary three. This wouldn't be the worst thing to do. Plus, if she was going to do this, doing it with allies would give her much better odds at surviving...

She stepped over behind Rose, Kanbaru, and Clair. "Fine. I'll join these Umbral Games." Akiko looked at the girls that she had joined up with in the very beginning. "And like it or not, I'm coming with you two. Someone has to make sure you're not gonna get in another situation."

Hopefully her cards wouldn't mind a little bit of crime...

Too much. Right.

Digbie had to deactivate his plan first before he spread eagle and flopped onto the ground once more. Though nothing was active, he could feel the magic surging back through his body. He was recharging, and at an incredible rate. Pretty soon he felt his magical power back in his body, and he rose from the ground very shortly after.

"That's it." Digbie's voice was cold again, but this time, even the rest of his friends could tell that it wasn't a facade. His eyes were a glowing blue color, and his sigil-covered arms were ablaze with residual magic energy.

Without missing a beat, he plucked his Chipped Shank from his back and held it towards Rags. The blade almost about to break, sure, but Digbie didn't care. For as far as he knew, it wasn't a weapon he could reliably use anyway.

All he knew is that this goblin elite, the fool that tried to kill an innocent animal while it was restrained, the coward who was holding his friend at knifepoint, and the dirtkicker that would not understand just who his friends were...

Well, he was holding his friend at knifepoint. Only one thing clouded Digbie's mind now.

"THOSE AREN'T MY D-D-DAMN FAMILIARS!" It was clear to everyone that Digbie hated saying 'damn', but he didn't care. It was about time for him to get serious. His hand tightened as hard as it could around the Chipped Shank, the blade glowing golden with the same familiar aura that Digbie had when he used one of his first abilities.

"THEY ARE MY FAMILY!" Digbie pulled back his blade over his shoulder, the glowing aura it emanated shining brighter than it ever had before.

"AND YOU WILL THINK TWICE ABOUT DARING TO HURT THEM!"

Digbie let loose his Chipped Shank, the blade flying out of his hands and almost straight towards Rag's head with Stone Shot II. If it hit and pierced, good. If it knocked the goblin clean out, good. As long as it taught Rags a lesson, Digbie didn't care.

Seeming as if a fight was about to break out, Digbie looked at himself and cast Shield II. He'd need the protection since he just threw away one of his main weapons. That, plus Earth Vein was still keeping strong magical power flowing through the Demiblin, so he could still hold his own if it came down to it.

"We're here." Skylar claimed with a smile. He stepped forward into the Drain with a bold smile on his face, though the smile was immediately washed away as he felt the almost overwhelming urge to turn back. To leave. To not continue forth with his mission.

But he didn't falter, especially when he had to answer the new person in the room. "No, we're not locals, Mister Wilhelm. I'm Skylar, from Freecape. This is Seabreeze and JoJo, two of my pals, and over there is Vivia and her Venonat." Skylar said while pointing in almost the right direction, give a few yards. "Though, I do think we're heading in the right direction." Skylar smiled as he pulled out two Pokeballs again. He was afraid for what this test was, but he knew what he had to do.

"Alright, guys. Join the rest of the others for just a little... bit..." Skylar said as he looked at the two red and white balls in his hands, putting one away as he called back one member of his team. This left him with only JoJo.

"Rral?"

"I don't think you can help me with this next part, JoJo, but I don't want you in your Pokeball just in case something goes south." Skylar said, gently placing his buddy onto his shoulder. "Just hang on. Worst case, we'll put you at the top of my bag."

"Ral!" JoJo chirped.

"Alright, so now we need to find our own way deeper into the Drain... and unfortunately for me, I'm blind." Skylar looked about the incredibly blurry room before glancing over to Vivia. "Vivia, you see anywhere that we could go from here?"

"O-oh jeez. I-I guess I can return some of them. Uh..." Skylar said as he pulled out his team member's Pokeballs, looking at the group behind him. "Uh, heh... so, I'm gonna put some of you guys back up in your Pokeballs, just for a little bit, alright?" Skylar explained as he went one by one, ruling out specific Pokemon.

And into the Pokeballs went...
- Paradise, because she was just too big.
- Mac, because he was a fire type going into a watery area.
- Smiley, because... well, he was a bit of a troublemaker
- Celebrity, because she would just try and get headpats the whole time and she'd be a troublemaker like Smiley.

That left Skylar with two Pokemon still out, for their own reasons.
- Jonathan, because if he was going looking for Azelf he'd probably need a psychic type to help him find his way (at least a little bit).
- Seabreeze, because it was his seeing-eye-bird and let's face it, Wingulls probably dive into the water to eat Magikarp all the time.

Skylar turned back to Lin and smiled, holding JoJo in his arms and with Seabreeze still on his head. "Alright, we're set!"

Then, the group descended, down into the depths of the tower, and soon into...

Skylar stepped out of the Cutiecruel bubble and onto the floor of the flooded parts of the city, now abandoned in favor of the above parts of the town. Curious, but Skylar couldn't help but figure it made some sense. He stepped forward before he felt... something. It certainly took all his attention, too, seeing as most of Lin's conversation went right through his ears... though the shrieks of Vivia's surprise definitely broke through to him.

"Vivia, put it back in it's ball. It'll at least bring it back here and away from the Whiscash." Skylar bluntly said, his tone considerably more serious even though he wasn't even looking at the scene (in fact, his back was towards Rotom and Vivia). It immediately returned to normal, though, as he looked down to the green and red buddy in his arms. "You feel that, JoJo?"

"Rrallall."

"It's here, just... deeper." Skylar turned to Lin, Seabreeze still watching the scene of the Rotom that was about to cause a ton of issues for everyone. "Can you take us deeper? There's something here that I feel, just... it's deeper and I'm just a biiiit nervous since I can't see."

"... ... ... alright, that's enough silence from me."

"I wasn't involved with Itsuko's past." Akiko blunted, since that was the raw truth. Unless the so-called President was referring to Akiko's voyeuristic tendencies, anyway. Then again, maybe he was a Jester like from the other world. Akiko didn't exactly know what to make of that character, so they had that in common. This school for villains schtick was definitely also something to figure out, as well, since it was most likely the next battleground for whatever group this was called now. Maybe something like Gray Area, or Gay Area with how Kanbaru and Rose were making the group seem. Christ, could they not keep it in their pants for fifteen seconds...?

Akiko frowned at the papers underneath her gaze. "Before I sign up for anything, I'd expect to be told what I'm signing up for. Surely you'd want an informed competitor to put on a show for anyone watching, anyway, and how would I do that other than being told, Mister President." Akiko fumbled around with the three cards in her arsenal absentmindedly, feeling the otherworldly material of the before settling on the Monkey card she had. For some reason it just... resonated with her. Maybe it was the abilities of the card that were speaking to her, but she had a fondness for it. Might be worth investigating later, when these Umbral Games start, if she wanted to check that out. Eh, with all luck, she'd be fine. After all, with the loyal knight of the Lorelai card to help keep her safe, this might go better than expected.

She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the President while she waited for an answer, the lights casting a brighter glare onto them before something else caught Akiko's gaze -- the cards Caprice had. The art on them was... just a little disturbing, to say the least. "Caprice, do your cards have everyone here on them?"

"Oh, radical." Skylar said with a smile, leaving the money for Elana to take for the business and leaving with Vivia. "Looks like we came to the right place. Now... uh, where's Descent Tower, heh."

Celebrity face'palmed' for a brief moment before Seabreeze spoke for the group. "Smiley, let's try to find it to move forward?"

Skylar's Murkrow rolled his eyes before flying up high with Seabreeze, the two using their good birdy eyes to scan for the Descent Tower. After a moment, the birds came back down, with Smiley proudly marching towards the group's destination. "Guess he found it! Let's go."

And with that, we can just assume the trainers moved straight to Descent Tower, where they spot... all of Eryn's team, plus what seemed to be a separate trainer entirely. Odd display, but maybe they belong to the same trainer? Kind of odd for a swimmer to have a Charmander, but whatever...

Skylar stepped forward in front of the team so he could address them all. "Alright guys, I know you all are great and fantastic, but let's try to stay calm here. There's a lot of Pokemon out and we don't need any fights between us breaking out, okay?"

One by one, each member of Skylar's team voiced their acknowledgement.
"Wingull!"
"Puff puff!"
... except Paradise, but she nodded.
"Rrall~!"
"Torrrr!"
"Mur-krow!"

"Good kids." Skylar praised, turning to the swimmer and Pokemon. "Hello! Would you so happen to be Lin?" he asked from behind his large black spectacles.

"Y-yeah, actually, though none of my team can safely get us there." Skylar said in response to the person that greeted him. He stepped up to the counter and... basically near-smashed his face into the sign that listed all the prices and such. After a moment, Skylar turned back to the woman, and gently placed 2,900 Pokedollars on the counter.

"We want to get into the flooded parts of the city, but none of our teams know how to Dive. It is 2,900 for a guide to get us where we need to go, right, and that would come with helping us actually get there proper, right?" Skylar asked, just a hair bit curious. To be honest, he wasn't sure if both him and Vivia would have to pay for the same guide, but hopefully they'd just be able to piggyback off one. Hopefully this was the play to make.

Even if it wasn't, it might not be too hard to get into Flooded Lakewatch on their own. Keyword, might.
