Bio

Well hello.

I guess I should introduce myself, huh.

I'm Gardevoiran, just some schmuck going to college and working towards getting a degree in Fine Arts.

I do commissions and what-not, and you can ask me to do a commission for you through my Discord (Gardevoiran #1429) or up here through RPGuild PMs, and I receive donations and payment through my Ko-fi page. Clicking the box right below here will take you to it.

I'm a nerd. I play Pokemon religiously, I dabble in some anime, I write up here, and I love watching incredibly awful movies and just making fun of them. Specifically things like "Leo the Lion" and what not.

I don't have much else to say, so I guess I can leave you guys with a really bad joke.

"What do you call a cow with two legs?"
"Lean beef."

"Jeez, how many trainers did Kalmia give Pokedexes too? If it's another one, then we better get back in case we need to support him." Skylar looked vaguely back at the battle. "I mean, he might just have this in the bag."

- All the Question Asking and Healing Happens ... -

As soon as Seabreeze was healed, Skylar sent him back out and the Wingull perched affectionately on his head. "Wingull!"

Alright, so the Gym was on Route 7 and you might've needed Go-Goggles for it. Probably wouldn't hurt to buy a pair from the shop in any case, but Skylar wasn't too worried about his eyesight, especially with his sunglasses providing him some... minor, at worst, protection. Might not be a great idea to rely on them.

As Skylar stepped back out to the main area of Raremine Town to... 'watch' Dawkin's fight, he started to think vaguely of a gameplan for his strategies here. He had one solid idea so far, and that was to go and train his heart out at Stone Shore. There he could search for the two fossils that were on his radar, or maybe just any fossil that he could come across. It'd be a fun new odd addition to the team if it wasn't the two that he was looking for.

Before he'd leave to go and train, though, he'd at least stop by the Pokemart to buy a few Pokeballs, maybe some potions, and the Go-Goggles for the Gym Challenge if he so needed them.

So... just for his clarification, Shop, Shore, Schientists, Schallenge. Schomething like that, anyway.

"Think he's got this covered, Vivia? I'm not sure how good of a trainer he is?" Skylar commented, rubbing JoJo's head and absentmindedly watching from the crowd of miners that had formed, completely ignorant that this grunt could totally spot him out from the crowd with the Wingull sitting on his head.

"Ralal! Ralts!" JoJo tried in vain to tell Skylar of his mistake, but it seemingly went unnoticed. Seemed like Skylar was listening in hard on this fight.

Akiko nodded as she made her purchases, also buying an extra Serei slot when she had gotten her card back since it couldn't hurt to have one extra one in her pocket... maybe two. Yeah, two was much better than one. Brought her up to the starting hand size in that one weird card game she remembered her brother playing. Magiyoh? Something like that.

Her new card, however, definitely interested her. Along with the arrow, of course, but the card mainly was what tantalized her. It was a little creepy to see such a mushroom man on her card, but she shrugged and simply wrote it off as she summoned the new card to see what he was like. "Rise, Bonesword the Hellish Wood."

As if on cue, in a dark cloud of a sickly green smoke, a skeletal figure of what could barely be described as someone once human stepped out. Their ribs were covered in the same fungus that weaved in and out of broken bones, some looking much older than others, and almost as if the body was an amalgamation of two different skeletons that were mashed together. Parts didn't seem to match with other ones but, somehow, likely due to the fungus, the body moved fluently as one whole organism, like this body had been very well known by the user.

"We have been summoned." The skeletons voice echoed, two distinctive voices speaking at the same time, in the same pitch, almost like a unity of two souls. "We taste the light of a new area. Who would summon us to such a location..." The being gazed around the bar with hollow sockets, the lights within gazing along all different forms but finally resting onto Akiko. "You."

They stood straight, eyes dimming, and finally galling into a bow. "We are your Serei. Our name is Bonesword, second in command to the great general Ira of Hell." He stood once again and waited a moment, seemingly wanting Akiko to act, which she... well, did. Her eyes flashed in the familiar glint as she got what she needed to from Bonesword, and as she realized more and more things about this husk of a knight, a crooked grin grew across her face.

"You'll fit in well. For now, you are dismissed, Hellish Wood. Trust me, I'll call on you when the time comes." As he was dismissed, Bonesword fell into a pile on the ground, quickly beginning to turn to dust in the wind and completely dissipating back into a card form. Interesting card, and a fine addition to her collection of cards.

The next order of business she wanted to address was simple - this arrow. The glint from earlier definitely helped key her into how this arrow worked, but only in one vague way - she needed to stab herself with it. Ok, maybe stab was the wrong word, but it needed to pierce through her for her actually work. So, she took the arrow in her hand, and took a deep breath. "I dunno if this is gonna hurt, but here goes..." Within one fluid motion, Akiko jammed the arrow into her shoulder, the head diving through fairly cleanly and coming out the other end, covered in blood but the wound itself didn't seem to start bleeding, likely from Akiko's other hand holding the Red Relic to keep the blood from going all over the place. She didn't wanna get kicked out of Cait's Bar juuuust yet.

"Yeah, that hurt alright..." she grunted, reaching around to pull the arrow all the way through and allow for the Red Relic to clot the wound properly. It certainly wouldn't be flawless anymore, but a scar was fine if this arrow awoke something in her... which, so far, though nothing had appeared around her, she was fairly certain that she was less alone in this moment, even with the 3 people she had in card form. Regardless, she tucked away the bloody arrow into wherever her inventory was, just in case she needed it later.

If Cait had bothered to look at Akiko's card, she'd clearly notice that something, was coalescing from behind her. It was too blurry to make out at the moment, but it was certainly forming from seemingly nowhere.

"Alright, my bloody shoulder aside, who's the new kid?" Akiko asked in reference to Thomas, who had just entered the room and everyone had ignored this whole time. Judging from his reaction, this was all new to him, too. It took her only a few seconds to realize what went on. "Another adventurer. Man, how many people from down below is this place going to bring." She flicked her hair out of her eyes before she stood and walked over to where Rose and Kanbaru were, watching the stranger as she walked. "Can't you read the sign? This is sort of the hub between different floors of this Tower. Cait can probably explain things to you better, if you want to wake her up." Akiko pointed her thumb towards the barmaid as she walked past, pointing Thomas in the right direction while she made her decision about the next floor.

"Crimson Pact seems fine with me, if we're all moving through to the same floor. Might as well clear out one of the earlier floors before we move to a harder one, in any case." She offered her opinion before she spoke again. "Plus, I'd trust a world like that to have actual people in it to give us an armorer, compared to how the Grotto is described."

"I mean, I was a bird kid. Sometimes my dad let me ride Pokemon, though, so I've got a little more experience than you, I guess, heh." Skylar chimed in with a slight giggle, climbing up aboard the Rapidash and gently holding onto the horse's neck. Jeebs and Royal were put back into their Pokeballs, since the ride would probably be far too quick for them to reasonably stay on, and Skylar placed JoJo into his lap.

"Rrall~?" the Ralts mumbled atop the Rapidash.

"Hold on, bud. We've got quite the ride."

And with that, the group began to ride... though, it really would've been much more interesting if Skylar could see it. Really, he was moving so fast that he just couldn't take in any scenes and make things out, so the best he could do is just ride through to Raremine next to Vivia. That being said, as the group rode through Route 6 and began to pass by the riders going in the opposite direction, Skylar waved over to them since he could make out the shapes of people on horseback.

Skylar dismounted his horse along with Vivia, waited for her to get a little closer, and he started walking beside her. "So how was riding a Rapidash? It's a lot different compared to the Dodrio we had at my dad's lab." Skylar asked Vivia for a moment. "I thought it was a good ride. Really wish I could've seen the sights, though."

Finally, though, the trip came to a close, as Skylar and Vivia pulled up to Raremine Town at last!

---- Getting the low-down on Raremine Town! ----

Immediately as Skylar stepped into Raremine, JoJo on his shoulder, Vivia at his side, he started looking for a Pokemon Center... for multiple reasons. One was that he needed to heal up Seabreeze and get him back on the team. The other, though, was that Skylar wanted to figure out a bit of the area, get the word on what was going on and figure out a plan from there.

"Hey, uh, isn't that one of those grunts from before?" Skylar asked Vivia, pointing over to the direction that Dawkin was in (though his head didn't actually turn with him.) "Her voice sounds familiar and she said something about having a Ducklett... hm..." He put a hand on his chin and thought for a moment before he kept walking, though must faster. "Plan - We go to the Pokemon Center, heal up Seabreeze, and head over there after asking about the gym, fossil lab, and whatever else is super important." Skylar waited to see what Vivia's input was.

If that was fine with her, then the plan was simple. Pokecenter, asking questions while they waited and were in there, then they would go back to help Dawkin if he needed it.

If she didn't, then Skylar'd just skip the center and go straight over to Dawkin's area. After that, though, would be Pokecenter and Pokemart to heal and stock up on Pokeballs. He wasn't sure if he'd be correct, but he had a hunch that there might be a spare Archen around this city for Skylar to add to his repetoire of feathered allies. Ok, maybe not *all* of them were feathered, but an Archen would be a major addition to his squad. Heck, maybe even an Aerodactyl would be awesome.

That's the plan. Let's make it happen!

---- Part 3 - Route 6 ----
Getting to Raremine!

Well, that went... slightly better than Skylar was expecting. Seabreeze was out cold, mind, but everything else was very nice as a development. Skylar picked up the Staravia's Pokeball and called back Seabreeze into his. "Welcome to the team... hm..." Skylar actually didn't have a name in mind yet for this little fellow, but after a moment of thought he called back to a trainer his dad told him about years ago and how that trainer had a Staraptor and was pretty well known for his spirit.

"Welcome to the team, Barry." There, a fitting nickname for a fitting Staravia. For now, Skylar sent him to the PC. It didn't feel right to replace Seabreeze with him, so he didn't want to do that. After all, Seabreeze was the OG of the team. It'd feel a little wrong to take him off.

Pocketing Seabreeze in his ball, Skylar reunited with Vivia at the Rapidash renting area on Route 6. Skylar listened in to what she had to say and nodded. "I think it's worth it, at least getting there. When we leave, maybe not so much, but while we've still got weaker Pokemon I think we'd be better off taking a Rapidash." Skylar suggested. Catching Staravia did cover his fee, anyway.

If that's the route that Skylar and Vivia were taking, Skylar brought out his Pokeballs and put away all his team save Jeebs, JoJo and Royal, and then he paid the toll for a Rapidash. Last thing the group needed was for some stray attacks to knock one of the team members out of the sky, after all.

Nice! A good little bit of twine to string some beads on made this whole situation much easier. Now that he had something to string these beads on, he figured that he was just that much closer to figuring out how to make this thing for his quest. Maybe then he could ask Jehanne questions more directly? Heck, with the ability to create twine, Digbie could string a lot more twine to make proper rope for the group to use for traps, straps, even something to whap with! This was a pretty big breakthrough, if you had to ask the Palablin

But, he was getting ahead of himself. First things first, he had to actually string the beads together for his active quest, meaning he had to actually needed to make more than just one bead at a time. Initially, he took the bead he had from before and threaded the twine through it, which did take a few tries but it did happen, meaning that was one down out of eight. It was a start.

The next step for these beads would be to just make a hole straight through these stones he had. With a drill, this would be easy, but Digbie didn't have access to those means. Instead, he just needed something that he could use to gently start making a small notch in these rocks... hmm...

Wait, he didn't have a drill, but he did have magic.

Digbie looked down at one of the Hard Stones he had kept with him, and placed it on the ground in front of him. He wasn't sure if he could be very precise about how he was going to do this, but he figured that he was at least experienced enough with Earth Magic to understand that, at the very least, there was a chance he could do this. So he stared at the stone, let Earth Vein top off his magic just a little more, then began to concentrate on the stone in front of him.

He just stared at it, looking at the full stone from every angle that he could. Where it was thick, where it was thin, every aspect of it. Maybe this was Point Strike, maybe this was another skill entirely, he wasn't sure, but he had his intention with what he was trying to craft.

Slowly, he began to chant to himself. "Make a hole, make a hole, make a hole, make a hole, make a hole..." He had his intention with this attempt to Craft, and activated the Crafting Skill alongside Spell Chant. If this was a way to make a bead, then he needed to figure it out.

Then, as the tenth or so chant rang out, Digbie reenacted something that he had just remembered from one of his old friend's favorite shows. The people that mended Earth in that show always were kinetic with their movements, so Digbie thought that, just maybe, it would help him make this stone into a bead.

He stomped on the ground, breathing deep as he himself lowered, before he stretched his entire body up towards the sky in a strong and singular movement. At the same time, from beneath the stone, Digbie tried to channel a Rock Spire in such a way that would bore a hole straight through this stone and into the other side. Maybe Rock Spire wasn't the correct name for it, rather Rock Needle, but he hoped that it was going to work out with Crafting and Spell Chant running.

"MAKE A HOLE FOR THIS BEAD! ROCK SPIRE!"

---- Part 2 - Route 6 ----
Starly/Staravia

... and immediately, Skylar tossed out Royal and crouched down to be a little more on-level with the Emolga. "Hey pal, you feeling okay?"

"Emu?" Royal looked up at Skylar with an odd expression. Clearly he was a little confused.

"No no bud, it's okay, we're nice." Skylar offered a reassuring smile, as did Mac and JoJo still hanging out near Skylar's legs, and Paradise behind Skylar. Speaking of Paradise... "Oh no, girl, you're hurt aren't you? Come on back." Paradise nodded solemnly and returned to her Pokeball for a good rest. The team would need that since Skylar had a few Pokemon worse for wear, so that was his next order of business in the grand scheme.

"Emu...?" Royal was still confused, clearly, but seemed to relax a bit. "Emuem?"

"You're not lookin' so good either, buddy." Skylar offered his hand down to Royal. "Let's go get you patched up, maybe a little bit of food?"

The Emolga was apprehensive at first, but stepped over to Skylar's arm and climbed on. Skylar lifted Royal up to his shoulder for the Emolga to climb onto and he watched as Vivia came back with a new pal as well. Good for her! Seems like it'd be a nice addition to her team.

"Nice job Vivia! Is Bonsly gonna get a nickname or are you gonna fly like a lot of trainers do?" Skylar had to ask, since he was nicknaming all of his pals anyway. No matter Vivia's answer (which Skylar will respond to next time), Skylar thought about their next plan.

"Alright, apparently Route 6 is kind of tough, and I've got a few hurt buddies with me. I'm gonna run over on to the Pokemon Center in Lakewatch for just a quick heal up, maybe the Pokemart to get a quick bit of food for the team, then we'll be back and ready to move to Route 6 and then to Raremine." Skylar explained to Vivia while looking over to Dragon Lake in anticipation. "Before I leave to do that, though, we're waiting on one... more..."

"Wirgurr!!!" Sure enough, there was Seabreeze with yet another Pokeball in his beak. Heck yeah! There it was!

Skylar got it back and the notifications on his Pokedex prompted to appear for real. A... Stunfisk that was asleep was what he caught? Sure, that's fine, he wasn't complaining. Welcome to the team, Stunfisk! "Thanks Seabreeze! We'll name her Fortune." Skylar tucked away the Pokeball as he sent the new Stunfisk back to the PC. She'd be nice to meet later but right now... maybe not so much, what with Jeebs and Royal as the two new pals to meet.

"Everyone's here, nice. We'll be right back, Vivia!"

And so Skylar did... just that. Ran off to go heal the team up before he went back.

(Assuming that everything is simple and clean. Go in, heal, go back to the route. If something interesting happens, though, please do note!)

If everything went well, Skylar would've made it back to Route 5 and would hopefully meet up with Vivia near the entrance to Route 6, unless she tagged along with Skylar to go and heal her team up. This is where we would actually continue things, though the whole team was out again as Skylar got back.

"Oh, uh, new introductions. Vivia, this is Jeebs and Royal." Skylar pointed to the Scatterbug and Emolga on his shoulders, smiling. "Smiley and Celebrity are taking a quick little break. I've still got my eyes set on one more buddy, though. So... we're on the hunt for a Starly. If I find one quick, we can both hop on Paradise and we'll cruise our way right through Route 6." Skylar looked over to Route 6, a hand placed on Paradise's neck as he smiled with confidence.

"Raremine, here we come!"

"Bar again, bar again." Akiko desummoned Lorelai and put away her Red Relic for a little while as she hopped down onto the bar floor, landing ever-so-gracefully on the floor due to her new enhancements from the Monkey Card, as well as her previous ones from Smitten. This might not have been the life she initially imagined for herself, but she definitely was not complaining. She just wondered that if this was the beginning, how far could she go from there.

Alas, just as last time, Akiko had another blank card to redeem and a pretty hefty amount of money in her pocket. Assuming this tower operated on JRPG rules, this was the Rest Floor and she could upgrade her equipment and gear here as always. Emilia was the shopkeeper for the Dangeki Bunko, so it was only befitting of Akiko to go and ask her for assistance first. Maybe something would pique her interest aside from the blank cards.

"Hey Emilia," Akiko cooed as she walked up to the desk that sat Emilia. "I've got another blank card to exchange, and some actual... money..." Akiko's eyes trailed amidst the wares that Emilia sold at the desk, though one specific item really caught her attention. What appeared to be an arrowhead caught Akiko's gaze, almost... calling out to her to take it for herself. It was unlike anything she'd seen down on Earth, but then again, she'd never expect to be able to have multiple sets of ears and here she was with that ability. "Well hello..."

The catgirl reached down to grab the arrow, lifting it up for a moment and feeling some latent energy from within. This... this was something she could use. "I'll buy this arrow along with room for one additional card, if the latter is even possible." She gently placed two cards, her blank one and her money one, onto the table for Emilia to work with as Akiko herself kept her hand on the arrow.

"What... are you?" She asked, the oh-so-familiar flash appearing in her eye as she looked at this artifact. Would that even work, though?

Immediately, one of the things Akiko was trying to get had returned to her possession. the Blank Card was now replaced with a card labeled Bonesword. Hm, kind of a dumb name, but it was certainly neat. Happy Birthday to her, she guessed.

---- Part 1 - Route 5 ----
Emolga and Scatterbug

As Skylar and Vivia stepped onto Route 5, Skylar poked his Pokedex to figure out what had actually been already discovered on that Route before. Since the Pokedex had a map and all, it should display where some Pokemon were in the grand scheme... only to then realize that there wasn't just potential for an Emolga here, but there was also Scatterbug! Not only that, but the route up ahead seemed to have even more Flying types for Skylar to catch! He was beaming with excitement.

"Aaaalright, uh, small stop. There's some flying types here that I wanna try to catch." Skylar awkwardly paused and looked out into the small, peaceful route to try and see if he could catch a glimpse of the Emolga and Scatterbug that he was after. It wouldn't be easy to find them, but maybe he'd get lucky? Worst case, he could always come back here on the way to Raremine and see if he had any better luck.

Who knows? Since this route bordered Route 6, maybe he could snag a Starly that happened to wander a little farther from the flock than anticipated? It'd certainly help keep Skylar and Vivia from getting into trouble on Route 6, that's for sure.

"Alright, time to go on a small adventure!"

As Digbie finally hit his stride with his evolution, snapping awake in the forest nearby where the rest of the gang was, he immediately first took a deep breath in and released some form of air. Evolving took quite a fair bit out of Digbie in multiple senses, if his natural needs were any indication, but not only that it just seemed like this first breath would definitely hit different.

"Aaaahhh... oh man, how long did I take to evolve?" was his first words as a Palablin, though he had to double take to figure out if it was actually him speaking. "Uh... irish wristwatch- oh man, that's me speaking." His voice was nowhere near as scratchy as normal goblins were, instead hitting more akin to what his original vocal range and tone was. Not only that, but as Digbie scrambled over to the stream to get a drink of water, he took his drink then noticed that he... was very much different.

His features were still goblinoid, of course. Very goblinoid, but much less so than what was once a Demiblin's facial structure, especially as an Immature one. His jaw was much less pointy, his ears and nose were more appropriately sized (though they honestly might not have grown with him and just fit), and he actually looked almost like he could pass off as an awkward teenager in human society, if humans still looked similar in this world compared to the world he hailed from. Not only that, but he had hair, and it was an actual full head of it as opposed to just the piddly mohawk he had as a Demiblin and Goblin. It was still long in the front, almost drooping in front of Digbie's eyes, but it was clear that under his cap there were actual locks of blonde hair sticking out.

As for his actual physique, yeah it was much more muscular, but what was more notable was that while his Stone Hardened and Mystic variances were still clear, what with Digbie's mana sigils along his arms becoming more defined and his stony spikes becoming more aligned into some form of natural armor, it was clear that not all of his spikes had died down. Notably, there were quite a few smoky-clear crystals sprouting from around his biceps and his collarbone, not enough to break through his armor, but definitely noticeable and recognizable as quartz, and as Digbie's wet hands gently rested on the ground, with Earth Vein's latent magic, he could almost watch the quartz shimmer and glow. It was weak, definitely, but maybe that was a sort of tell on how much magic the Palablin had? Interesting. It was incredibly similar to the sigils on his arms, as well, just adding to it. Maybe they'd glow with the same kind of influence when Digbie used spells in the future, too?

"Wow... talk about a makeover." Digbie noted to nobody in particular. He had gotten his thirst quenched finally, so he only had to go eat something before he could, somehow, get back to work. Before he left to go eat, though, Digbie did try to Analyze himself in all ways, just to see if he could understand anything more about himself. Not only that, but he glanced over at Oberon and Ash to analyze them too.

"Hey, Oberon! I, uh, think I'm a unique monster now. It seemed like... uh, well, maybe an analysis would tell you more than I could muster up." Digbie chuckled, finally realizing something that he kind of needed to do. "Oh crap, uh, I need to get to work on something! Gotta make something to string beads onto... uh... maybe if I braid that long grass...?"

The newly evolved Palablin ran over to the side of the camp over to a patch of long grass, grabbing a few strands and beginning to braid them together to try and form some kind of twine string. If he was going to have his rosary, this would... this would have to do for now. Unless somehow he could strip the cloth down into a better form. As he thought, though, Digbie looked over at the unclaimed pile of loot and grabbed the Tarnished Copper Ring. Maybe... it'd serve as a bead? It wasn't a bead per-say but Digbie didn't exactly have the widest variety of loot.

"Hey, Jehanne. Think maybe I could use this ring as a bead on the necklace?" Digbie asked initially, thinking a second before adding to it. "Uh... blow on my left side for yes and blow on my right side for no."

Ugh, that feeling did not get any better the second time.

Regardless, she felt like she had changed yet again. She definitely didn't feel as catty as she did when she had absorbed Smitten, but she did feel more different. More... powerful, almost. Maybe not physically, but the second cat tail definitely sparked some notice. Whether that was some sort of inherent idealized form of Akiko now that she had more control over her form, or if it was just her powers flexing their muscle, she didn't care. It was definitely neat though, and she'd have to give it a fair bit more experimentation. Good thing she had a solid area to test things on now that Rose stole this airship. She wondered for a moment if she could have both human and cat ears, before realizing that having two sets of ears wasn't very... beneficial in the long run.

Speaking of Rose... wasn't there loot to grab? Oh, good heavens! Akiko had almost forgot, being caught up in the now-blank card in her in hands. She tucked the card away in some kind of dimension before she looked up at Lorelai with a smile. "Lorelai, dear, may I borrow that relic for just a moment?" Akiko asked her knight, knowing that the answer would be yes in the end. She stepped over to the bow of the ship, Purple Relic in hand, before she held her other arm out and began to channel whatever power the Purple Relic gave her.

Though it startled her at first, the gusts of wind that picked up due to Akiko's influence began to quickly suck in whatever clouds of gold, treasure, and no doubt the same currency that Akiko had laid claim to just before. As each speck of yellow coinage flowed close to Akiko, she could feel her wealth accumulating fast, approaching 44,240 Bees before Akiko began to grow a little bit dizzy with power, the vacuum shutting off and Akiko stumbling a few steps backward into Lorelai's arms.

"Haah... for a first time, I hope that wasn't too embarrassing to watch," she chuckled. "Please, don't think of me as too weak, Lorelai. This is power that I'm still trying to get used to, after all."
